    Watching you enjoy this bass right out the box made me so happy because I ordered this bass from Thomann but in natural finish. Can't wait to have it on my hands

    I keep it at the school I teach at, so I play it and still love it but... it is very heavy, and would not want to hold it for a long standing gig.

    This is the best offering by Harley Benton regarding jazz basses. You're getting an American Ash body, alnico jazz pickups, a beefy 'D'-profile neck, Wilkinson standard jazz bridge with brass saddles.............And can be purchased NEW from Thomann currently for $155 USD, plus shipping depending on where you live. I own the natural ash model. You will never beat Harley Benton on value for your buck. You can't even buy a Fender Squier new at that price, and their quality is not as good as the Harley Benton.

    Already ordered for my son, Harley Benton surprises with quality, we have two electric, two acoustic guitars, and the are so small flaws, but sounds and playability beyond any expectation. Very good review.

    I JUST got my HB Enhanced JM-5 Jazz Bass and it's Absolutely Fantastic right out the box! I LOVE it! I have to wonder why Harley Benton doesn't make these JB-75's available in a 5 string and maybe call them the JB-755(V) series, or JB-575's 🤷🏾‍♂️

    does the knobs work as it should? if you turn just a bit does it really affect the tone/sound ? or do you just can ear variation to the last millimetre of movement?

    Great review ! I'm looking to get this one in SB , and take off the pickguard, and wonder if the pickup underneath it is fitted on the wood or not. I've seen other models have a larger hole under there , which wouldn't look any good , hahah. Have you taken yours off ?

    I have not, but it is a cheaper bass and I imagine it would have that machine hole thing. I don't play this bass out, I keep it at the school where I sit and play because it weighs 10.4 lb that's kinda on the heavy side.

    Mine had some buzz at fret 5 and the frets were cutting into my hand a bit so I had it setup at a professional (i'm a beginner) now I am really happy with it. Except for the weight. I'm not even 50kg and that thing weighs like a 5th of me xD

    I was looking for this bass 3-4y ago. I love that sound for that little money. But I was afraid about the action. Now I see that the action will be probably good. Now I'm think of buing it again. Btw :my friend bought that low cost Harley Benton 7 string for 150€ 1y ago and that guitar is 2nd best 7 string that I v ever had in my hands (only pickups aren't top, but, for that price, you can't complain buy emg81-7 for 90€ and here you go ) action on his guitar is extremely low and no buzz at all. And I v played on few 7 strings that costed more than 1000€, my 7 string costed 700€ and is worse... Btw2 : I v bought Harley benton sc 1000 for 160€ back in 2015 when still most of people used b**ching about HB brand, but after setting up that guitar , that guitar is better than my friends esp ltd ec 400 (800€), we also tested is at that time with his 2nd guitar esp ltd ec 1000 (which was 1500€ here at that time) and his esp ec 1000 was only hair better than my HB copy of that guitar that costed only 160€ with stock pickups . He was blown away and started to thinking about selling his ec 400 guitar and buying HB... But we were thinking that I was lucky and I have great pc. . You know at this price range is every guitar even from same model bit different... But everyone I know was lucky and have great Harley Benton guitar. Maybe it is not just luck, maybe it is really their standard... Great review. This is how test /review should look like . I m going to buy this bass. Now I have to choose if in black on natural wood color.

    I totally agree about Rickenbacker frets. I wore mine down (from new, with moderate playing) after just 6 months. Had to get the frets replaced (expensive because of the binding and massive amounts of lacquer) then I sold that piece of junk.

    They are quite heavy basses I have two but they are fine probably 10lbs the neck isn't chunky at all and the tuners are the weak point and the pickup covers are really sharp. I have a Luthier mod mine and round of the pickup covers. These bass necks are far more stable than Squiers and Sire Marcus Miller Basses. I have Squiers I still like them and I sent the old V7 back, awful basses in my opinion

    Great deep tone. I love it. How much does yours weigh? I'm hesitant about these due to the weight. I'm not asking for 8lbs from a budget instrument, but I don't want an 11lb anchor either.

    @@treeratrecordings I have other basses I'd gig over it - I just love the "geddy" looks of it so much. I still might buy it anyway for jamming out at home, but weight is definitely HB's biggest problem. I don't see why they couldn't charge $20 more and source some lighter bodies for these. They would sell even more.

    @@longdongbongchong Hi man. Did you eventually buy yourself one ? I'm in a same boat now. Hesitant about buying because of the weight. I've seen many people telling it weights 5.6kg.

  • @longdongbongchong

    @longdongbongchong

    Жыл бұрын

    @@yurii_chynchyk I did actually. Mine is 5.2 kilos. It's fairly heavy - I wouldn't gig with it. It's a great bass though, well made, sounds and feels great, but it's nothing more than a leave around at home, or in the trunk bass. For some reason in my research I though ash would be lighter than alder, and I regret not going for the Gotoh version (I just liked the Geddy look of this), which I've seen around 9.5 lbs in videos.

    @@longdongbongchong Thanks for reply. Well, 5.2 is not much better then 5.6 for sure. I can imagine how really heavy it is. That’s why I have doubts cause I want to be able to move here and there with it. Do you mean they have Gotoh version for JB75 or your talking about a different model ? Cause as I know its only available as Ash one
