We had planned to visit the British Motor Museum on our last day but decided on a caravan day in and we filmed our Bailey Olympus 10th anniversary video. It was a very relaxing stay. I've lived in Leamington Spa for over twenty years now, and it is still a very lovely town, commercial of course, but retaining a sense of the past and exceptional greenery within and closely nearby. Pleased to hear our videos have been of help Phil, that’s really good to know 👍. We remember our first weekend away 10 years ago all too well, Gail was terrified of towing and was clutching the car seats all the way 😧. I spent the weekend fetching and emptying water containers in the rain and that was the first and last time we stayed on a standard pitch. It takes a while to get into a routine with the packing and setting up but we are oh so glad we bought a caravan. Happy travels and yes Harbury Fields is a lovely site. Hi there Dave & Helen, Gail and I were ready for a good rest and we found Harbury a great rural retreat, especially after getting a bit flustered on our journey in 😂 . A Qiuck Google search showed us it was south of Leamington old town after moving from Banbury in 1986. Fond memories for you Colin. Cheers, Rob & Gail 😀

Lovely site have been there many times only about an hours drive for us ideal for weekends.. You should have visited Stratford Upon Avon such a gorgeous place especially in the summer months and all the Shakespeare places to see to. Mind you there is such a lot in the area to see Warwick is also lovely. Happy Caravanning

Agree it’s a lovely site. We were very chilled and relaxed there. As you say lots to see and do close by, so it’s a site we will return to. Stayed in Stratford Upon Avon about 25 years ago and would love to go back. Also never been to Warwick or the motor museum so Harbury is a great base 👍. Thank you for watching and commenting. Hi Rob, another informative video. Just wondered if you knew about the OS App. We love it for walking, I pay the yearly subscription so get access to every UK OS map. You can access digital versions of maps you’ve bought as an alternative. Also, just ordered a Thetford toilet extractor kit, thanks for the informative video as inspiration. 👍

Hello Paul & Jo. We really liked Harbury Fields and it certainly was very tranquil ! Fran kept us entertained and we felt very relaxed. We made our 10 year caravan video there. Bit windy at times but we’ve had worse and we were lucky to dodge the rain. All in all a good holiday. Great news to hear you’ve booked Lickpenny, fab site. Nice video, decent presentation style 👍🏻the windmill usually has the sails on but they’ve been taken off for restoration at the moment. The river Leam is pronounced as in the town name not as you said it 👍🏻 very informative vid 😊 new sub👍🏻

Hi Rob, thoroughly enjoyed this video. I have memories of Harbury as a child in the late 1940s. My mum and dad were close friends with the people who ran the Dog Inn and we went there to stay for a holiday. Is the Dog Inn still there by any chance? The site is certainly very rural and presumably very quiet. It looks very clean and tidy, that's for sure. Great location for all the nearby towns and cities in that area. Hello Ken & Kathleen, Lovely to hear our video has awakened some fond memories of Harbury for you. Unfortunately the Dog Inn closed in 2016 and is now used as a nursery. A quick search of the internet brings up a picture and we remember seeing it in the village. You are correct in saying the site is both rural and tranquil. A well kept little haven. Thanks for posting a very good informative and entertaining vid! As you may recall we packed in and sold our almost brand new caravan last year. But still like to watch certain caravan vloggers. We have booked two Haven holidays so far for this year, it’s a lot easier. Price is not bad either, we are away in two weeks up the east coast for just £18 per night. Yes I know, it’s not the same as your own caravan, but hey ho, needs must! By the way, have you seen The Caravan Vloggers latest vid on the Torque Wrench? Great vid, keep making them, cheers, The Happy Pensioners, Susan and Peter. PS. We think the camera work is excellent! Would love to know camera equipment details, perhaps an idea for a vlog for you both?

You may be surprised to hear it was filmed using iPhone X, so no fancy equipment here ! except for the Comica BoomX-D external mic to muffle out the wind noise. Just a thought. Have you done any advice on reversing your caravan as with your logical approach you may have a tip or two to share?

I’m afraid I haven’t Ivan. Each site varies with road width and this determines whether I am able to reverse straight on or partially reverse and then complete the manoeuvre with the motor mover. This is to avoid swinging the front of the car over nicely grassed areas as some sites ask you not to drive on the grass. I’ve noticed there are quite a few caravan reversing videos on KZread so no doubt there are different tips that can be taken from each video. As well as using the mirrors I use my caravan reverse camera to make sure the way is clear and to see how close I am to the back of the pitch. It’s a case of getting to grips turning your steering wheel the opposite way you want your caravan to turn 😧. Sorry I can’t be of more help on this subject. All the best, Rob
