Great video, love the non biased honesty with it, i picked one up cause as a guy who isnt huge into multi tools, im not spending 120 on a wave, it seems like a good deal, thankfully mine seems to have actually passed QC, but time will tell.

This is a really great tool and has many upgrades from the Leatherman Wave +. It sounds like this guy has problems with everything he gets.

My problem with this knife is the philips screwdriver, which is not held in place securely. There's a tiny magnet, which is all that holds it. You can count on it getting lost pretty quickly.

Getting rid of a flat head would be a stupid ass idea. I constantly run into flat heads when I’m out doing things. Not having a flat head available can turn a quick job into I gotta run to the damn store and buy a flat head because someone decided to stop adding them to their tools lol. I just went to HF to buy more flat heads because I never have them available

I bought one, really liked it and discovered a major flaw- the pliers end has either a terrible casting or some sort of braising in it, right at the point of stress. It blew out and snapped one of the pliers prong off. Inside, there is flaky brass powder. This tool went from being a 9/10 to a 1/10. I was not abusing it, light general use. HF says that there is a lifetime warranty, but I doubt I will try another. Sad to say: its poorly made, despite the rest of the tool being damn good.

Mine works perfectly fine. I have had several multi-tools. Mostly Leatherman and Gerber. The Gordon isn't as good quality as Leatherman buy it's also 1/3 the price. But I will say this tool is better than the $70 Gerber Multi-Tool I have.

Man you just drew the short straw unfortunately and got one that got through quality control or something and was damaged because I bought one the other day and I love it it almost does a better job of being a Leatherman Wave than a Leatherman Wave does and I agree with you they're not going to keep these on the shelf it's going to be like that icon knife that harbor freight can't keep in stock. They would have been smart to order a whole box full for every store rather three or four. This for the video.

What kinda of new knife? A flipper style like the one that's really popular now? I wish they'd make a Leatherman surge clone. @@DUMPTHETRUCK

Are they as well made as a Wave?. Of course not. Is it terrible?. No. I've seen reviews saying to just get a Gerber multitool instead since some of their multitools are comparatively priced. Those people must be stuck in the past because IMO entry-level Gerber multitools are even worse than this.

@@williamkious5349 Agreed .Gerber used to be quality up until the 90s the only things worth a sht now are the Strongarm and their $100+ multitools but at that price why not just get a Leatherman or Victorinox?.

The price is less than 1/3 of the original Wave, do you really exspect a better quality? Your tool is faulty, return it and get another one. The bit driver has two advantages (for Leatherman- lol) a) it gives room for another tool, b) it gives opportunity to sell extremely overpriced special bits, bit-sets and extensions. I discovered, they just took regular 1/4"-bits and made them flat, so I bought a cheap locking bit-driver, cut it short underneath the notch, ground it flat to fit the holder and added a hole matching the gap in the holder - now I can put in a pin and have a 100% locked-in-place driver for any regular bit on the market for around 7$ and one hour of 'elbow grease'. This add-on fits right inside one of the elastic side loops of the sheath. BTW: a) the bits are in HEXAGON-shape (=6 corners) not octagon (=8 corners) b) should be common knowledge that 'stainless steel' is a marketing gag, ALL steels will start to rust over time, the 'stainless' ones significantly later than carbon steel. Some special steels need some 100 years in seawater to show rust. Contents of chrome(Cr), vanadium(V), nickel(Ni), molybdanium(Mo) and others help increasing their 'stainless' time, but reduce the hardness, so manufacturers choose low contents on certain tools like Philips drivers. This is why 'stainless' tools need some maintenance too - your old Leatherman is in quite bad shape - remember: your sweat is salty water, so wipe the tools down with a small rag, drenched in gun-oil

I thought I'd get alot more comments over the hexagon octagon thing but you were the only one.
