You're lucky you didn't slice your finger open, the way you were mishandling that box cutter. And the repair you made is rather unsafe -- relying on electrical tape as the only thing keeping this together is a disaster waiting to happen. Any stress on that cable could pull the connection apart and leave live wires exposed.
This is probably the most idiotic video I've ever seen on KZread.

When you urgently need an extension cord and the shops are already closed, this is not a bad way out of the situation.

@@hackspire2 What in life can be so urgent? Glad hospitals are open 24/7.
I hope this is parody.
That 'repair' should last at least a few hours. Should have bought a new plug and fitted it properly. Unbelievable!! And what about the disappearing earth core??
Death by stupidity 😅
I'm impressed that there's no blood. Ground is overrated.

@@Henry-sv3wvground is actually connected, but it is only an inch long. So, if anything goes working within the first inch, it’s safe. You electrocute yourself or burn down the house only if you use more than the first inch of the contraption.
You are nominated for Darwin Award!
That's terrible! Without mentioning other stuff you disconnected the earth wire!

Some extension cords do not have a grounding cable.

This is not fixing an electrical problem, this is creating an electrical problem. 👎
This contraption is meant for communication. When you plug it in on one end, and another person holds the hot end, you can send an audible signal.
Hell NO !!!!! This is not a solution or a hack. This is a dangerous suggestion.
Oh, ok. I guess if you have a poor and dangerous connection on both ends of the cord, they cancel each other out. I also assume that he has another video where he demonstrates how to improperly mount an extension cord to a light bulb fixture?
I would do a repair like that ONLY if my life were in danger and I had no time to it the right way. If you had a fire, and it wasn't even electrical in nature, your insurance company would not pay off if they discovered that mess in the wreckage. I'm glad you are not in the US.
If you insist on this cock up, at least use some solder and some shrink wrap.
Simple open device replace the cord and plug avoiding any risky connections just solder on a new cord it not rocket science
