Just bought the vice a few minutes ago. What you’re saying is all true.

They good for minor things like you said just to be safe while working I was given a Chicago electric 100 amp mig welder but the liner for flux core wire is broken and no replacement parts

Thanks for the video! I have the earlier green version, and it was a rough one. I found I also had to grind out the slots to be able to use my 1/2" bolts for the T nuts, and I used a right angle air grinder with a 2" 3m Roloc pad to polish the roughly machined surfaces making things slide easier. Finally, the pocket at the end of the threaded rod was bone dry; I filled it with grease and now I actually enjoy using it.

I also had to "knock off the rough edges", but otherwise, it is good little vise.

Enjoyed the video. Even though I have a number of steel US made DP vises, I also own an inexpensive Chinese cast iron piece. Branded as a Delta. Sacrilege. It's good for tasks where the clamping tool may become damaged. Don't mind risking the cheap POS, unlike the better vises.

Price has jumped to $23 in 1 year and they no longer have 25% off coupons!

If it's anything like their 6" vice I may pass. Barely used it and broke in half. At harbor freight, I rolled the dice and lost

Yes, Harbor Fright is a crap-shoot. For what this is, and the intended use, it works fine. For an actual bench vise from here, I'd pass.

Seems like hf no longer sells this. Only a 65 buck model.
