My name is Yvonne. I create and post videos about my daily life with Friesian Horses. I will show you the true Friesian Horse and what they are like: day to day care, training, riding dressage and the very special birthing of foals. i agree. I think he's learned how to move while managing any disability, working with any limitations instead of against them. But his heart and his joy are an inspiration that he doesn't let anything bring him down.

I’m sure seeing him day to day is hard for people close to him to see improvement but from seeing only occasionally, I know I’m not the only one who thinks he has improved quite a bit! Not 100% but definitely better than where he was!
With Uneik's passing and Risey's physical problems, seeing them happy together in this video, possibly one of the last times makes me feel better about the whole situation. Thanks Yvonne 🐎😊

@karenc.9505 Yvonne wrote on the post when Queen Uniek died, that it is a common problem with Friesian horses because of the inbreeding. The association that controls the bloodlines haven't had any new bloodline into the studbook since 1978! No new genetics means problems like this will be more and more. They know this and still don't put in new genetics. Totally unfair to these beautiful horses 😢

I think there was one attempt with Kladrub horses. Problem is that these are also very inbred and might still too closely related to the Friesian horse. And it seems there was a tiny attempt with Arabians. But this is rather problematic temperament-wise (see Haflinger). There might be other solutions...maybe with a Heavy Warrmblood? Still, difficult solution. Friesian Horses are so very unique.

@@SandraOrtmann1976 Thanks for that Sandra 😊. There is a huge document on the Femway Foundation website about this problem. Friesians suffer from interconnective tissue disorders, ligaments, tendons and a whole host of things I can't name. This makes them susceptible to a whole catalogue of things including heart and oesophagus problems where they can't eat properly. One of the most interesting crosses I've seen are Friesians and Gypsy Vanner (name in USA). They are beautiful, kind, trainable and a gypsy horse genetics are really varied as they're a breed made up of so many others, various cobs and heavy horses. Another one I think that should be looked at are the Irish draught, used as police horses. Also Canadian horses seem good. Going down the pedigree pure blood horses will only breed other things wrong. Warmbloods are getting too rarified as well. Back in the day, Friesians would've been bred with other types of horses! There seems to be a lot of cross breeding in the US that includes Friesian.

I was thinking the same when I saw Risey buck. He must feel confident enough in his feet to buck and not lose his balance.
Risey looks happy and is so beautiful! Coralle's foal seems in no hurry to be born. So exhausting for Yvonne with all these false alarms.
How wonderful Rising Star looks now after all the care you have given him, Yvonne! He is moving much better too. He seems more confident too. It is good to see our sweet Queen even if she is gone now. Her spirit will live on through our memories and of course yours. Then there is the last gift she left you, Belle. Peace be with you as you go about your days adjusting to life without her. Prayers for you and our Rising Star.
The Principe with his dragon snorts and flagged tail Risey just stops you in your tracks with his beauty it’s impossible to not love him. And the soft look he gets in his eyes whenever Yvonne approaches is just so sweet,he loves his human.🥹🌟🐎🔥

Risey has such an elegant gait when he trots. He almost floats! It's so good to see him moving easily again. I haven't visited this site for months and I am happy to get updated.

God, Rising Star is so handsome. I love his vocality and his beautiful, flagged tail. He really doesn’t let anything get him down.

Risey kicked up his back legs! I haven't seen him do that in a long time. Surely, that must be a sign he is getting some more control. He is so beautiful, and he knows it too--we saw him admiring himself in the reflection in the window.

He did actually buck a couple of times recently but not as elevated as here, that's for sure.
Risey’s flagged tail…a joy. The Queen…always!
Look at that boy, so alert and still with his elegant trot and flagged tail. HE grew into such beauty. He's happy and that's what counts. Those ponies are the cutest little things.❤
Oh it’s hard seeing Uniek in the videos knowing that she is gone her presence was so huge and unforgettable she can never be replaced but I am so grateful that we have over 9 years of videos and photos to remember her she was loved beyond measure. I’m immensely proud to be part of this community as one of 400 incredible people who came together to buy Uniek for Yvonne that we were able to do that for her keeping these 2 soul mates together means more now than ever. There’s many reasons I love this channel and community but 3 years ago and what we did then might just be my top favorite moment/reason thank you all for being so amazing then and everyday since especially after Uniek’s passing.🐎👑🥹🩷🌸

Risey is looking so much better, and I am praying that he will outgrow his wobbles. He's so beautiful! ❤🐴 Since a stomach rupture is an issue for Friesian horses, is it recommended they get regular ultra sounds to see if there are any reasons for concern, or does this happen so unexpectedly that checkups won't help? Praying for all at Stal H & at Stal G. ❤🐴🐎🐈⬛🐕🎉🥰

He certainly does look better on his top line and he’s interested in moving. His hind legs aren’t so base wide. Mind you when he does run his back is round not hollow even a little. But let’s be hopeful, he even seems more balanced.

I am so happy that you decided to keep Risey. With the loss of Queen Uniek Risey gives you wonderful memories of Uniek as a mother. You are truly an amazing horse Mom. Love your boys. They are growing up with your love of them♥️
Surreal to see Queen Uniek with Risey literally ten days prior to passing. She looked magnificant as always. Risey does appear to be doing much better which brings peace/love to my heart. I miss you Uniek as do countless others- may your rest in peace. You have a special family Yvonne with Bauk, beautiful sons, fur angels or all sizes/shapes. As a horse lover, I really appreciate your community. Sending you a virtual hug and strength from the U.S.

Oh Yvonne I love the bond you share with Risey, and the way he responds to your voice and try’s so hard to communicate back with all those cute snorts of his, of course he is not 100% because of the wobblers, but that sure hasn’t affected his mind or his flagged tail with showing all of us how happy he is with the love and care you give him. ❤

Risey's tail when it was lying on his backside looked like a messy bun. LOL! Poor Yfke looks so lonely there when Uniek walked away.
Risey's wobbler looks so different here! Maybe his brain is finding different ways to accommodate his gait.
Risey definitely looks like he is moving better. And he is so happy, love his snorts and flagged tail. He really loves you .

Risey has improved ! He is definitively happy and connects with you Yvonne in a beautiful way. There`s openness, attentiveness and sweetness in his eyes that wasn`t there before. You`re caring for him established this bond this softness toward you. That`s a silent language between you and Risey. It both gives you hope and to see that gives me hope too.💕💞

Oh man how handsome Risey is...a bright copper penny in the sun. Flagging his tail with the joy of being alive and moving his own way. I hope he at least stays stable for many years. He brings pleasure to so many. Thanks SO much to Yvonne for giving him a chance when others would not have. We all love him so.
Happy Risey is truly a blessing to watch. He makes all your worries fade away. If only we could all keep our joy such as Risey does, even in the face of hardships. Beautiful Uneik is even more beautiful in heaven but we miss her dearly hear on earth.

Risey's wobbler looks good. He'll have good days and bad days just like we do with our backs or whatever.
I would love if there were some kind of universal translator to use with Risey. He is such a verbal horse, and I would love to know what he is saying!

I understand Risey has wobbler and that some vets thought he should be put to sleep, but even though he won't be a riding horse, he seems to be a happy & healthy horse. He seems to have a good life.
