"Hantik"
is a 24cm drop point profiled balisong project with a blade made from steel bastard file, ground flat with a micro bevel.
Its handle construction is of a skeleton-type stainless housing and its scales are made of a hard, infusable, and heat-resistant phenolic resin board. The name itself "Hantik" is the Tagalog name for the weaver ants, one of the 4 common species of ants that can be found in the Philippines, it is recognizable for its large size compared to the other ant species in the country and its reddish-orange color.
"Hantiks" are aggressive and extremely territorial, they weave their nest with leaves which they stick together with a special silk they produce.
The "Hantik" balisong overall design and profile generally mimics the weaver ant's aggressive looks with its blade profile, and the phenolic resin board perfectly resembles the hantik's recognizable reddish-orange color.
