    Hans said in his recap he imagined the entire game that black could still castle. He didn't realize this was not the case until he was recording the recap video. That's why he made some of the choices he did towards the second half of the game.

    The reason that Qd2 is a good move despite trading queens and wasting a tempo, is that it first stops black from capturing the b pawn. And when your opponent is already behind in development and has an uncastled king, you can afford to waste tempi. That's why computers are better than us because they aren't stuck on concepts like staying en tempo just because it's a theoretically sound strategy. The only deciding factor is does the position actually require it or not.

    The man thinks thet Gotham Chess is the most successful chess player around. Nothing more to say really. He got banned from an hotel cause of his behaviour, he is just a whiny kid who is formidable at chess but he will never be remembered in history

    No, there's definite reason to play Qb2, it prepares queenside castle immediately while still covering the d6 square. Hans wanted to bring in more attackers as soon as possible, you wanted to play a bit more slowly and castle first.
