I've always been impressed with Matt's technical knowledge, his marksmanship and his generosity in sharing knowledge and time with us. Today I am impressed with his son and his parenting. What a great kid (and shot) you're raising Matt!!!

Thank you so much for testing 7N6. That was our standard rounding, the Ukrainian military, and the average Russian soldier, the least dangerous threat they will come out with at least for a rifle round. Is that one.

Fort Scott munitions has a 40gr 5.56 solid copper round, runs around 4000fps and would be fun to hit 3A and level 4 plates with.

It would easily destroy 3A, but has no chance against level IV..

I wonder if it could punch through lvl IV body armor if it were fired from an ETCG(Electro-Thermal-Chemical) gun. I've heard of hobbyist ones throwing plastic airsoft pellets fast enough to put craters in mild steel. Unfortunately, those require large capacitor banks.

@BuffRANGE what about lvl3 or 3+? I saw war pig armory has some, and was also thinking about picking some up.

The steel in M855 and M80A1 are of the same Rockwell hardness? I had thought M855 used something closer to 1020 steel, on the B scale, because I keep hearing M855 being referred to as using "mild steel." Maybe relatively speaking to the M855A1, sure.

The penetrator of M855 is indeed like 49-53/4RHC depending on the manufacturer. It's indeed hardened steel. :D

@@BuffRANGE now it makes more sense to me why M855 performs so well against PE armor. For some of us, that additional information is invaluable.

I've been watching your channel for a few years now, and I've seen you shoot many armor plates. I know steel presents a spawling issue, but have you tried steel inside of a carrier? I figure a carrier may stop spawling.

For me I can look at spalling as a pitfall of steel but until viable RF2 plates exists In steel that compete with ceramic offerings it’s kind of a wash for me to test them.
