That brass is the top point, also the wood is great! Put all slots of the screws of the plate in the same orientation, please. I like it very much.
Greetings form the US. Beautiful gift, and fine craftsmanship. Thanks for posting.
Very very nice ! i think your decision to put the engraved name plate on the inside was very apt, it would have looked too much like a pet urn had it been on the outside!
An outstanding project made from recycled timber. I am sure Alan and Selina must be over the moon. Keep the other panel for a box for your own wedding. A HUGE thumbs up.

Few woodworker gift recipients appreciate how much work goes into some of these gifts, bravo to you.
I enjoyed the making and figuring of the box. Glad they did not call off the wedding.
Probably one of the best project you have done - picked up a good few hints - thank you

That was one satisfying sound of the latch locking in! Great job Keith, love your channel! All the best from the Netherlands!
A true gift! You put time, effort, pride and love into that box! Lovely build.
What a wonderful gift 👍 Just a small thought - I was always told to align the notches in screws in the same direction as each other, especially if they are slot head screws. Given how much thought, time, and effort goes into something like this, I think that a detail like screw alignment would give an extra element of class. Maybe you could sneak round to theirs with a screwdriver! Sorry if that seems really picky - it truly is a fantastic project!! 👍

What a fantastic job you have made. It really is lovely. Well done!
Quite inspirational. Mixing brass "inlay" was a surprising idea that worked out great. Thumbs up for hand dovetails. I tend to stick with power tools but you've inspired me to throw some hand tools into the mix. Thanks for sharing.
Beautifully done! A true heirloom that will be enjoyed for generations.
Beautifully done Keith! That box is really impressive, very professional looking!
I use solid brass locks from Woodworker's Supply 887-725 or887-739 or Half Mortise locks from Rockler.
What a truly wonderful gift to receive as a wedding gift....we'll done....!
Really liked this series, thanks for sharing.
That is a really nice looking box Keith! Something to be proud of and a real keepsake for your brother and his wife.
Hey Ragman! I knew that would turn out beautifully, a really super and thoughtful wedding gift. Be sure to tell the happy couple that one of your subs wishes them God's blessings for a long and joyful life together. Great vid, as always, thanks for sharing.

Just watched all 3 of these vids. Very interesting and I admire your attention to detail. It came out great in the end. 👍
Great job, dovetail with hand saw no router or table saw, no CNC, again beautiful box.
Your brother will be so happy. The attention to detail you pay is amazing. I just do not have the patience!
I know it took a while to build but the end result is amazing.
You've out done yourself well done
What a fantastic job mate an lovely idea for a gift. One suggestion is to line up the screw heads so they all point in the same direction. Apprentices are taught to do that apparently! Keep up the good work and thanks for taking time out to entertain and inform us all. Cheers.

I look forward to your vids. . easy watching, great wee project .
Wonderful!!!! Love this woodwork.
I’ve just restored my great grandpas cutlery box he was gifted from the Royal Opera when he got married and worked there. It’s made of tiger oak so underneath all the faded varnish was a beautiful grain. I hand sanded it as much as I could and then applied 3 coats of danish oil which has given it a lovely colour and satin sheen. I also polished up the metals with brasso and silvo for the engraved silver plaque. Had to redo the velvet lining which actually went quite well. Only paid £5 for a metre of cheap faux velvet and splashed out on some £17 3M 77 spray adhesive. Seems like a similar project to yours. I’ve also got 2 shelves of mahogany in my shed. Wondering what to do with them?
Really beautiful
Really did enjoy these videos. Great work Keith.

Great Vid! Great project! Great Build! I'm all psyched up to do a similar build now.
That came out beautiful!!! Nice job!!!!
Nice box Keith! I bet you were bricking it routing out the hinge recess after all that hard work making the box! You aced it though. If you are going to fit more hardware where you drill pilot bits give some "hinge drill bits" a try they make it really easy. Don't go for the cheapest ones like I did though Trend seem to make some decent ones (although as with anything Trend they are a bit pricey). 👍🏼

Beautiful job! Thanks for sharing!
you piano hinge should be flush "like a door or on a piano" you can fix this with a shim of carboard. but that's really deep so I would try using a peace of the wood you made the box out of. try lee vally for hardware brother. good job keep up the good work.God Bless
Loving watching your vids - so clear and well explained and really great work. Please do me one favour - you often speak in front of a piece of wood on a shelf with a triangle on it - looks like something we should press on screen! Please move it - it's driving me nuts!!! Thank you. Keep You the amazing work

Greetings from New Zealand. Great job - very impressive. Can you answer a question about the hinge for me. If the hinge is 3.3mm thick, and your router was set at 3.3mm, does this mean the hinge is not flush on the lid? Why not take 1.7mm off both the lid and the box back? Thanks.

beautiful job! How long did you let the Teak Oil cure before applying your wax polish? Thank you for a great video!
Here is a link to the Brass catches from Rockler that i use. They also come with a nickle finish. They have an extremely satisfying sound when closed. www.rockler.com/jewelry-box-catch
Excellent m8 love it. I had trouble finding decent brass latches in NZ for a box I made recently. worldwide shortage?
Awesome project, did you you not think to carry the brass around the box from front to back?
Hi. I saw this series and I thought it was brilliant. Could you please provide a link to that latch? I've been doing some searching and I can not find it. Cheers!
