Sasha Gamino I think they meant that they haven’t heard much about Russia being affected by the pandemic and therefore suggesting they are doing a better job of handling it as opposed to not knowing about the pandemic itself.

I feel soap works better because your rinsing the bacteria off, hand sanitizer you leave the "dead" bacteria on your hands still.

Mate it doesnt work like that. Cell wall /cell membrane of the bacteria/virus is dissolved in sanitizer solution. When the cell wall/cell membrane collapse the bacteria is dead and even it enter the body it cannot multiply and cause problems. But still handwash is the best anf should be done regularly in this pandemic.

where do they sell this, so called, hand sanitizer?

They are not stating the obvious here. When you are out and about, using shopping trollies, handling items in stores, using credit cards, cash machines etc you cant just wash your hands. Hand sanitizing gels are what you use! When you get home, first thing you do is get your hands washed properly with hot water and soap for at least half a minute or more. Please use common sense people.

Grocery stores, gas stations, malls, and fast food joints will likely have restrooms with soap and water, which is a better option than sanitizer.

Avoid public restrooms at your peril...enclosed & breeding grounds for germs This virus is spread via air droplets. Faecal droplets! Stay safe. Best wishes.

Exactly!! Soap and water is the best and strongest combination. Deadly duo for the harmful organism trying to kill us. People shouldnt rely only on sanitizers. Use it when you are outside but the first thing which you do when you come back home is to wash your hands for 30-40secs properly. Quarantine the things you brought from market. Sprinkle santizer on shoes and doors knobs/handles.

Whether at home, work, or during travel, when I have access to a sink & liquid soap - I will wash my hands each change I can. I'm into washing my hands. So, like this video said, that's the #1 method for me. When I travel & don't have access to a sink. Then I use hand sanitizer. I always carry one. The one I'm currently using is The Body Shop's purifying hand gel in Absinthe. The Pink Grapefruit & Mango ones are good. I like Purell, Scentsy, & Bath & Body Works' hand sanitizers as well.

Not necessarily. Both soaps get rid of bacteria. Normal soap removes it while the anti-bacterial soap kills it. That saying, anti-bacterial soap promotes resistance.

Warning don't buy from Amazon. They are selling hand sanitizers that say 60mls but 60mls is only 2 ounces and they want 7-10 dollars for it. Some also want shipping costs. I complained to Amazon yesterday.

Bacteria are not viruses. Different viruses do not all have the same susceptibility. Chlorhexidine or iodine scrub are the known winners. Not isopropyl alcohol alone. Remember the evaporation and contact time very important.

If you're at home, washing with soap is suggestable, but if you're outside, and not available to washing hands, let's using 60% or above based hand sanitiser to sanitizing hands.

Why don't you show the result of washing hands with soap vs hand sanitizer

This is just my own opinion. But I believe hand sanitizer will at least weaken any germs that survive enough it won’t harm you or make you sick. I did a few experiments on my own over the summer at my security job by pouring a drop on ants. Lol. For the most part it killed them within a few seconds. 11-2-20

It's actually not as effective at killing bacteria than 70% alcohol. The 99% stuff causes a hard shell to form around the microorganism, preventing the alcohol from penetrating deeper.

Handwash 5 seconds to apply 15 to airdry. Soap 20 seconds per wash.

So at 2:10 we wait for the petri dish with the 20-second hand wash ... NOTHING!

Anny Nguyen Coronavirus =Soap and water 20 seconds then rinse the virus off! Coronaviruses survive in droplets and gravity brings most of those down. Touching where an infected persons spittle or mucus has been and bringing that to your eyes nose lips transports it to you. Masks are for stoping infected peoples germs. Not for stopping you from breathing “bad air”.
