🏅 Hand-built, Road Legal, F1-inspired Supercar - Zacaria SC | ANATOMY OF SPEED

Powered by a Ferrari V12 and looking like a toned-down version of a mid 2000s Formula 1 car, the Zacaria SC is also street-registered! Because when you've finished building your dream car you'll want to drive it around and see people's reactions, of course.
Zac's creation is nothing short of incredible and well worth an entire episode of "Anatomy of Speed".

This has to be coolest thing haltech has ever done. Massive congratulations to everyone involved.

Epic build! Great choice going with the F140 V12. Noise, revs & power curve... perfect race engine
The wheel covers need painting satin black . That would really bring the look around .

Hey ... isn't it unreasonable to get the wheels covered like that. F1 cars aren't made in that way.
What an amazing car to be able to stretch the Nexus’s legs on! Great seeing the full gearbox, engine, traction and much more all being controlled in one place.

Couldn't agree more!
This is extremely cool and exquisitely made 👌 Interesting though that he chose a v12 and the outer body design closer to the current 2022 cars, given his love of and inspiration from the mid 2000’s cars.
Awesome Scott would love to see it on the Dyno.

Great work, very clear and informative without being boring. Really enjoyed this video.
Adding exhaust inside the rear diffuser will only stall it’s aero out. If they were going for a pseudo drag reduction system it’s perfect, otherwise that is not how one builds a blown diffuser
@robwithgears655
2 жыл бұрын
isnt the exhaust at a higher velocity though?? even though its introducing volume momentarily the pressure drop it creates in front of the absent exhaust section should help the floor work harder.
@azimpetra

Older blown diffuser is like that. Not the modern RedBull era
@robwithgears655

@@azimpetra true only because of the regulations, we are more discussing the physics of it. Also the "modern" Era had blown diffusers but they blew the sides to prevent tire squirt from entering
@MidgetBarmaid

Agree. That would destroy the air flow. You want clean air that sticks to the diffuser surface. That would cause chaos to the air turbulence.
@NPC-fl3gq

You don't get linear air flow out of a diffuser in the real world anyway, and if the exhaust is moving fast enough it will actually lower the pressure and help empty the diffuser. It's a bit counter intuitive.
I'll be honest, I wasn't going to click this vid because I wasn't sure I would actually enjoy it. But bloody hell was I wrong, what a marvel of a project, just when you think you've heard it all out comes the sequential w/paddle shift 😅 Engineering masterpiece.
This thing is nuts wtf, childhood drawing of a car come to life.
I’ve seen this car in person, very very cool & sounds great! They will have a HELL of a time getting that regoed and keeping it regoed in NSW.
those hand worked aluminium body panels are a work of art.
What a fantastic V 12 dream car. Kudos the incredible engineering vision. Great presentation too. On the bucket list as my next track day car 😜😜
Thank you!! This is Great and a very informative!
Goddamn legend Scottie. Only you could make that machine even better than it already is. I honestly only watch your/Haltech stuff now, I dont even check in with the MCM channel, which is where I discovered your mountain of knowledge.
I think this builder needs to work at an F1 factory 😅 he's that good
Incredibly impressive!
Top shelf auto craftsmanship. Superb.
Absolutely Incredible!!! What a dream track car!!!
What a build...... I can't get over the ECU, that's next level shit right there, like OEM level stuff. Amazing.
Brilliant, just brilliant
Zac let my 10 year old son start this and give it some throttle blips recently… mind blowing on many levels!!! Great rundown on haltech’s involvement with the build!

I saw this thing in the wild, around the Campbell Town area. Can confirm, it sounds spectacular
that looks amazing!
A work of art.. well done
What a beast congrats 👏
Brilliant video
I can't wait to see it run. Sweet build.
Finally someone did it
Brilliant car and video, and Scott
Mad respect for people like this! They bring color to the world.
Insane
😍that thing is AWESOME
F1 cars should look like this in 2022.
HOLYSHIT! Thank you, KZread recommendations 🥰
Dope as Tuning Fork!!!
Amazing build!! Are different maps required for the different exhaust options?
That is stunning and a proper V12 🤤🤤🤤🤤, its better looking than today's new F1 cars ..👏👏👏👌👌👌 Work af art and dammmm those headers 🤤🤤🤤❤️
Freakin amazing. Really hope I will get to make something myself sometime? Won't be anything of this caliber, but I'm hoping to use something like a H1 V8, mid mount under a flat bed with a similar front end to the American "Sportstar", with a single central seat.
Internet officially BROKEN!
Brilliant
Wow just wow
Very cool
Umm wow! Absolutely love it 😍
Unreal car and even nicer owner
Best. Thing. Ever.
Looks super fast while standing still... I cant imagine how it feels to drive this beast!
Amazing video. Thank you for making this video. I wish I could smash the like button and subscribe 1M times for you :)
Wild
MAN!!! I wanna do something like this so damn bad
Shut it down guys, this series has peaked.
This thing is madness. But I love it
How does it ride? That's what I have been waiting for.
Great project. Just an idea for the transmission control, if you put an ON/OFF button for neutral, I think it would be a little bit safer, just in case someone accidentally touches the gear pad for too long. Cheers!
like to know more about the gear shifting - sounded like an air system? is there an onboard pump and tank for that - wouldn't a solenoid be lighter or aren't they strong enough?
What an achievement! And possibly the best naturally aspirated engine ever!
Really cool project! If they are going to get serious about some track time I think it'll need some revisions. That rear wing isn't going to do much with how low it is and all the upstream turbulence. The blown diffuser will most likely stall but at least they can close the exhaust valve and see if it makes a difference. One of the big things is no heave spring that I can tell. If and its a big if, it makes a bunch of downforce it'll have to be setup extremely stiff or it'll bottom out the suspension.
What in gods earth is this beast.!
Like the idea and engine, though the aluminum and tiny design details I could do without. Freakin amazing job though.
Is the Nexus R5 able to control an automated gearbox which clutch is actuated by an controller? I'm hinting at the first generation of Smart respectively the Smart Roadster.
Madness but i love it
Would be really nice to see this car around a race track
What exhaust cutouts do you run?
I heard this engine briefly once when a Ferrari nailed it down the road like 100 meters away from me. Its a ridiculous glorious sound. The videos sadly dont come even close to what it really sounds like.
what is that roofscoop for if the intakes are on the outside?
siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick!
scott he mentioned was in the biker build off US vs UK vs AUS?
wow
Holy!
That look on his face at the end… car guys know that look is just like a work from Da Vinci.. sheesh 🥵
They did a Road Legal, F1 version of Speed Racers' Mach 6? And it looks Amazing?
The ultimate vehicle doesn't exi.........
I wonder who dented that front right wheel cover
F1 engine + pick up = 🥳
This should be a heavy weight F1 category
That's going to be an aerodynamic nightmare.
Looks like a f1 car from the future
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Please show the tuning in detail on KZread :)
This is cool but those intake manifolds kill it, he should make a revision with ITBs so the engine cover fits without those cutouts and the airbox is can be functional.
Was the ECU not capable of running the direct injection setup? The port injection setup seems a bit out of place on that engine.
I'd like to see f1 cars in 2026 look like this concept, it is gonna look futurustic but tighter and more simmilar to mid 2000's cars...
I’ll have one in black please 😍
Scott you guys need to look into this elite 2500 with spark and pencil problems burning up ignition modules after working perfectly fine. Am having the same problem again everything new and falling edge, fuses car works fine for month with miss fire on number three sorted out by unplugging coils and then plugging them back in ran on all four for two days then stopped dead no spark! Fed up now mate this is the fourth time it has done this surely a software problem for bmw pencil coils.

Depending on the weight of those Dub wheels... if they are light then 100% perfect like this is an engineering Creamsicle. If they are just for a look (his personal taste), this car is 90% epic for me. No one asked, I know, but just my $0.02 anyway. Freaking awesome.
Scotty Cross built a chopper for World Biker Build off, he came in 2nd if I remember.
Scott, you're like 7 feet tall, you sitting down next to my Starlet would look the same lol
FF and F12 just those
Needs matte black wheel guards so it looks like it has open wheel slicks.
Its a F1 car with ferrari headphones, bet the induction is awsome
Some questionable aerodynamic choices here, the valve cover area being exposed is going to generate so much turbulence upstream of that rear wing

Not to mention the ram air intake which leads to nowhere, the front wing which isnt a wing, the dual element wing which doesnt function and the massive holes cut out of the rear wings lower element. Bit dissapointing that so much time was put into everything but the aero.
Why ? BTW - Great acting in "Home alone" -Daniel 🤣
I would of used a AMG "pagani engine", or if wanted to just make it pure insane power a VR38DETT With AMS parts... Or a 2JZ also should of boosted it, 2 huge snails mounted where the air filters are would be epic..... But this thing is absolutely insane work of art.... There are ppl out there that have mind blowing talant....🤯🤯🤯

Lovely bit of work but I have to ask why it's all bolted together with stuff that looks like it came from a tractor workshop some proper Allen bolts and k nuts would have done a lot for the looks.
If Scotty fits, just about anyone is going to fit.

If they can do the Caterham, the Mono BAC, and similar style cars.. so why not this F1 inspired car!!!
