    The prusik knot is perfect to adjust on the fly and I'd never use those clamps on any rest regardless of type I'm rrunning

    That Prusik knot is gold, I use it on my Epsilon now and let the tension off the cord when not using the bow to relieve stress on the drop away spring so it doesn't weaken over time. thanks for the video.

    I totally like the idea of the prusik knot instead of the clamp. The clamp just slips and doesn't hold the blade down at all. I'm been carrying a Phillips head with me to the range just to adjust it after a set of arrows

  • @hunteralmer

    @hunteralmer

    That’s what I was having to do as well. Having to constantly adjust it after only 10-20 arrows became very annoying😂I haven’t had to make any adjustments since switching to the prusik over a month ago, once you get the knot set it doesn’t move

    Does anyone experimented with doing this on a prime bow? I have a prime black 3, and there is a similar yoke splitter that has a round ring. I would like to try putting my cable on that.

    Thanks for the video, the knot looks great. I will be trying that with my setup today. I've also been looking for different setup strategies on my Phase 4, because the rope actually rubs against the 2-piece LoPro Quiver and starts fraying after only a few hundred shots. However, I keep hearing that mounting the rest to the cable is making the rest bounce up again, after it dropped down and can interfere with the fletching. This is also why Hamskea strongly discourages tying up the rest this way. I wonder what your experience has been, one year after you made this video?

    Haven’t had any issue with my set up (or anybody that runs it this way) but I’m sure there is a lot of variability with different bow types. I did noticed that the knot takes a while to lock in.. Maybe that’s why people are having issues with it being loose and coming back up? Not sure if that answered your question😂

    This is great, was just fixing the football brace due to it failing again after about 12 shots. What bow feet/stand is that? Thanks for sharing!

    I had been running through the yolk splitter. Good call there. But, the Prusik knot relieved my biggest issue with the hamskeas. I really am unsure if I like the rubber over the spring that came on the old hamskeas. But not having that plastic on there is GOLD.

  • @hunteralmer

    @hunteralmer

    2 жыл бұрын

    Exactly. My blade was constantly coming up from the plastic clamp coming lose (no matter how tight I got it). I’ve shot well over 500 arrows with the prusik and I haven’t had to tighten, change, or adjust it once

  • @peterp1143

    i tied mine like this too but you need to check rest timing with the rubber dampener. I needed to have cord really tight to get proper arrow flight. Just snugging it so arm stays down didnt work for me.

  • @hunteralmer

    @hunteralmer

    Were you having clearance issues when the rest was falling away? And possibly bouncing back up as the arrow was traveling through? The rest should be at the same spot once you are at full draw

  • @peterp1143

    @peterp1143

    Жыл бұрын

    @@hunteralmer no i had no clearance issues. I had left right tears. If cord was not as tight Ihad left tears. If cord was too tight I had right tears. I had to find the sweet spot for perfect bullet holes. Drove me crazy.

    I have a bowtech sr6 , my concern w limbdriven rests are when the cord goes slack at draw , contacting the arrows in the quiver. Do you think this will be an issue?

  • @hunteralmer

    @hunteralmer

    Жыл бұрын

    That’s why I switched to tying it this way. It brings the chord a lot tighter than the recommended way to tie it. I haven’t had any issues with my V3X and the quiver is really close. Hope that helps!
