@Oliver Welch no that's wrong, BBC made Top Gear, however when the approached Amazon they didn't want to make it so asked the guys to create it themselves and they'd purchase the rights and renew seasons as requested. That's why at the end it says 'W Chump & Son' which Jeremy, Richard, James and Andy Willman all own.

@@valentin0000 A big part of Princess Diana's charity work involved the eradication of landmines in warzones around the world. Her primary concern was that the mines would be left behind after the conflict was over and innocent civilians would step on them and be maimed or killed. The machine that Clarkson was referring to is a minesweeper. Therefore the joke is a reference to her humanitarian work haha

Diana was involved in landmine clearance, but... They had previously done a skit about Princess Anne and the Reliant Scimitar. i.e. "there's Princess Anne, she has a Reliant Scimitar you know" or "the Reliant Scimitar... Princess Anne has one of those". So it obliquely references that as well. I think that's why they found it so funny.

Trouble is: there are some people out there, watching these vids, who are genuinely dumb enough to not realize the jovial and bare faced nature of when they say things like “With absolutely no help at all from the camera mans lighter...”

And the film crew failing to film animals in Botswana and the Africa special, mini cam operator placing Jeremys camera in awkward place in Africa special, film crew drying road in Georgia, sound man starting race in Croatia and Jeremy asking a sound recordist to adjust James’ car in Mozambique special

The camera crew always added a extra layer to the show

should have included some from may's solo shows too also missed the bit in an early series where jeremy made fun of a car a member of the crew owned(dont remember much)

Over territory that you have an at best extremely dubious claim on and where 99% of the population don't want you to be.

It does slightly ruin all the races over the years of sports car vs plane/public transport etc when you realise that it's actually just whether a Range Rover can beat the plane/boat etc.

I think one of the crew books talked about how the race was done in one go But after the race they reshoot it for the dramatic scenes

the camera man silly to complain about Jeremy hitting the SUV on the bridge i mean they were going downhill on the bridge so it made sense to bump up against the camera car to prevent the car speeding up and smashing into them anyway (possibly harming them and Jeremy)

They were trying to tow a car out, may was holding the strap while Clarkson or Hammond, can't remember put tension on the strap, he did it too fast and may was caught underneith 😉
