Well good for you. What I loved about him is that the was the Frist American Designer to feature Women Of Color in his Shows most notably Iman and Pat Cleveland. He influenced so many Designers from Tom Ford, Calvin Klein and Isaac Mizrahi. His name was even featured in Waiting To Exhale which was the first book by an African American Woman to go to Number One on The New York Times Bestseller List. Halston's Name was also featured in other Bestselling Books like Chances by The Late Jackie Collins and The Love Machine By Jacqueline Sussan. His name was also thinly disguised in Rock Star as A Gay Tall Dress Designer Don't you notice that folks who come from Small Towns have the biggest personalities, him and Truman Capote.

Owning a "Name" was synonymous at Motown. They owned the Rights to The names of The Temptations, Supremes, Jackson Five & Miracles. They acquired it although Berry Gordy Jr., didn't "create" their names, it was in a Clause that the acts missed when they signed contracts. None had lawyers with them to show them, and most were barely out of high school so what did they know.
