Halston's Famous Home

Фильм және анимация

We're visiting one of the very few New York homes that were designed by influential modernist architect - Paul Rudolph. 101 East 63rd Street later became the home of iconic Fashion Designer Halston whose decadent star studded parties were among the city's most envied invites, a place to both start and end a night at Studio 54. It's that rare place that is significant both architecturally and socially to the history of New York.

@@shadowandsoul4331 Well, I've been reading lots since the miniseries and have seen the documentary (I was also a fan in the 80's and am wearing his scent as we speak, but I digress). Halston did have a cook/assistant named Mohammed Soumaya. So the kitchen was used daily (I'd still like to see it!). Halston also loved using Dial-A-Steak, a 1960s and 1970s version of today's DoorDash (being from Indiana, he preferred steak and potatoes). He didn't really have things "flown in," according to those who knew him best.

this house never gets any light. No view either. It has this brown house feeling that can get so depressing.

Great place no doubt, but I prefer Halston’s interior design. Doesn’t look nearly as fine now.
