apearently rob zombie wanted us to feel bad for the poor serial killer, but this movie does a better job at it. Seriously, all he wants is to retire in peace but this obnoxious people come to his home, mess with his thing, Film a reality tv show (wich is worst then murder) in his house. and they kill for trying to protect his place. I certainly was rooting for michal on this one.

My problem with H20 was they had too many masks and the score was too much like Scream. They had a good one in the opening scene then they used multiple ones throughout the movie that were not good. You see his eyes too much. And the score just doesn’t build the same tension.

I lost it at 12:02. The way he kept making the guy repeat "Oh" over, and over. It got me literally laughing out loud.

Also how the hell exactly he heals so fast from being stabbed in the shoulder. The character isn't a mutant, I doubt he has pcp or steroids in the area so obvious bs along with a woman screaming loud will result in glass breaking.

***** pretty sure a black man survived in a house on haunted hill remake which was released in 1999 so before this movie.

I think it's funny how people were fooled with the whole clothes switch with Michael, mainly because the paramedic was not only a foot shorter than Michael, but he was also chubbier then Michael.

The paramedic could have taken the mask off but he doesn't really how very unbelievable even more unbelievable he doesn't talk, and still tries to kill a woman. This is 1 of the dumbest retcons along with Sandman killed Uncle Ben not the burglar.

and how would they know what michael looks like besides a mugshot of when he was six the doctors and nurses of smithgrove who seen his face are not there or alive

"Michael is a resilient pyschopath but he is not supernatural" Aside from how in the first movie, the most realistic, Michael is capable of lifting a grown man with a single hand, driving a knife through his torso with enough force to pin him to a wall, then survive getting stabbed in the neck, getting his eye gouged out, then tanked 6 bullets to the chest before taking a two story fall onto his head and shoulders. Totally something a real person could survive.

Actually, yes, a real person could conceivably survive being shot several times and falling from a second story. A man was mauled twice by a bear and was able to walk away from the attack to get in his jeep and drive himself to his hospital. A soldier was shot approximately 17 times during combat and lived to continue active duty. A woman survived a fall from an airplane. Eyes being stabbed are not as lethal an injury as you may think either. Watch the "Because Science" video of Joker's "magic trick" scene from The Dark Knight and you'll see some pretty miraculous (and gross) real life incidents equal to or even worse than the pencil trick that some people survived. Still, every sequel has clearly shown him to be supernatural, you're right, but I think that was part of Phelous' joke.

That whole switching clothes with the paramedic thing always amused me because never once does the 'paramedic' act like someone in that situation. Also, his build is all wrong AND why didn't he just take the mask off? It's actually stupider than if they pulled a magical explanation and had him possess a new body or something. :)

***** Well, it depends. If the movies are done by the same people they tend to try and stick pretty close. Sadly, a lot of them aren't done by the same people and each new group seems to not care about what happened before or are trying to do their own thing. There is also a weird thing that happens, sometimes, with horror movies where they will take a script that has nothing to do with the series being rebranded to be part of the series when it's not really.

I have a feeling that this movie started off as a completely different movie but was changed into a Halloween movie like the Hellraiser sequels.

Michael does have supernatural powers. It has been shown throughout all the movies. He gets up after being shoot, stabbed and falling from great hights like it was nothing. Michael is superhuman

I hate this film... but i'm not gonna lie, i actually thought Busta Rhymes was the only GOOD part (Sans Jamie Lee Curtis, but that goes without saying) in the film. It's like he knew the moment he read the script how awful it was gonna be... and decided "Fuck it, it's a Halloween film, might as well have some fun with it." and the two Michael's scene does crack me up.

It's entertaining because of how terrible and laughable it is including a guy gets stabbed in the shoulder and he fastly heals, the quotable bad lines, making fun or reality tv, a scream that breaks glass wow a human that can damage things with a scream like she's a banshee.

I view the Halloween "franchise" as a trilogy consisting of Halloween, Halloween 2, and Halloween H20. So the "Michael Myer" in the other "Halloween" movies is really one of the other mental patients that Michael let free in the first one and going on a copycat killing spree and everyone thinks its the real Michael

To me, the original series fits into two clean alternative timelines. The "True Trilogy" of Halloween, Halloween II and Halloween H20. And the "Alternate Timeline Series" of 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6. "Resurrection" is so out of left field, stupidly contradictory and tonally clashing with previous films that I just can't count it as canonical. To me it's the "Highlander II" of the series. (Yeah... to me its worse than "Curse"...)

Loved the opening skit. Although I'd like to point out that "Season of the Witch" is actually a decent 80s horror movie with some fucked up images. And if you got the "Silver Shamrock" Theme stuck in your head now: I'm sorry. ;)

Also point out he must be sarcastic because no damn way Ghostbusters and Friday the 13th were released after Halloween so no damn way those hadn't been released movies inspired Halloween. Also Halloween is a undeniable great movie the original John Carpenter movie.

Wait a secound, let me see if I got it: So, she fought Michael Meyers with a chainsaw, and... Took a few swings at him, not actually hitting him... And turned the chainsaw off and threw it at him. And keep in mind, all of that while all that Michael had was a knife. Wow. That woman just managed to FAIL at using a chainsaw to kill a( Supposedly ) normal human being carriyng a weapon with lower range. I wonder if, at that point, she just gave up and wanted to die but thought she should give him a little scare first.

7:52-7:57 Yes, what woman could resist such an amazing pick-up line delivered with that obnoxiously sleazy and nasally voice?

I’ve seen this review a good 20 times. This is one of my favorite guilty pleasure films.

2:40 The first movie is actually guilty of this. When Laurie sees Michael in the clothesline it cuts to her face still looking there, cut to Michael gone.

I always thought of it as Laurie thought she was seeing things, considering the other times she sparsely saw Michael up until that point. Also his face did blend into the white blankets on said clothesline which gave off a more mysterious effect. A lot better than him just being out in the open.

Michael Carter I'm not saying it's not bad that she killed an innocent person and that there wouldn't be a manslaughter charge against her, but I don't see why people would think she's insane for doing it. If a mask serial killer is after you and sudden someone comes at you dressed as that killer, you'd naturally assume it's the real killer and try to defend yourself. She still killed the guy but it makes complete logical sense why she did it, so why throw in her in a mental hospital?

What I got from resurrection is that getting killed by Busta Rymes is punishment for killing his sister in the beginning in the movie.

i like the idea of the 'halloween trilogy' of 1, 2, and h20. throw 3 in there for a fun 80s horror movie.

In retrospect. ..maybe h20 wasn't the worst movie in the series. ..great video man love your work keep it going you rock!

If you watch the original film, oddly Laurie doesn't look away from him when she sees him out of her bedroom window before he disappears either.

I just tried re-watching this movie for fun, taking notes on the things about it that annoyed me (I was contemplating doing my own video review of the film for fun since I'm a big horror fan and always felt like this was one of the biggest slaps-to-the-face as a sequel), and I actually had to stop at the half hour mark because I couldn't keep up with the film and just felt drained by this trainwreck. Like every 2-3 minutes I had to pause the movie and spend 10-15 minute jotting down notes of what it was doing wrong. There's just so much fundamentally wrong with the entire film's creation and execution. Kudos to you, sir, for being able to pull another great, entertaining review from this mess. There's just so much stuff in this movie that just doesn't even make sense when you stop to think about it for more than 2 seconds. Like they somewhat imply the lead characters got the parts in the reality show... but it's only after they imply this that they actually go to the casting call? Then they start filming like a day later... which would mean it was a last-minute thing that was thrown together? Yet there's press at the Myers house as they start filming like it's been a big event that's been planned for a while? Which would contradict the fact that the entire thing seemed like a last-minute show they threw together? But it couldn't have been planned out because they're only just setting up the cameras like 20 minutes before the stars (who were only just cast like a day earlier) get there and that should have been done days if not weeks before? So there's really no internal logic about how the show came to be or was put together? Gah, this movie really just racks your brain with stupidity.

A true sign that horror movies are going down hill aside from a few ocasional gems. They should of ended at H20 Soo at least Micheal had dignity in his demise. And fuck the reboots too!

Michael Myers does have a supernatural power. His staying power. He gets seriously hurt many times, but keeps coming back. But he doesnt have any other ones.

I'm going to make a Halloween remake where Michael actually does have a third arm that morphs out of his chest. It's going to be great.

I liked Season of the Witch. Sure it wasn't "Halloween" but if the name wasn't attached it would be a cool stand alone film.

I have just as much fun rewatching this review and just looking at the mirror behind Phalous.

OMG you are too much with the ANTM references I am crying I am laughing so hard, Mr Bland, Foreshadowing nightmares, the 7 foot long butcher knife that can decapitate but cant sheer denim, ugh so good man.

Even if she pulled off the mask, would she have any idea what he would actually look like at this age.

This movie could’ve been a classic if they had tyra run in on Michael after he killed someone and screamed “WE WERE ROOTING FOR YOU! EVERYONE WAS ROOTING FOR YOU”

That high-pitched "no!" at 0:35 still makes me laugh like crazy.

6:48 The tripod kill is a homage to one of the earlier slasher films called "Peeping Tom", a film that many consider as one of the first slasher movies right next to Psycho which the film was released months later in the year of 1960.

The thing is the "Recon" of Micheal's Death in H20 wasnt really a recon. Because that was always the plan. On the Blu Ray's commentary for H20 Jamie Lee, and the writer talk about how the plan was always for it to be the paramedic she beheads. They point out how Micheal's body movement is different and the shot of Micheal walking away dressed in the guy's uniform was filmed during H20's filming.

But hoping real fans would notice that she clearly didnt get him cause he didnt act like Micheal movements. Jamie was also signed on for 2 Halloween movies when coming on bored for H20. So Micheal was always planed to live.

“The last film before the remake” until they did the time warp with the 2nd time line (the 1st being H1, H2, The Thorn Trilogy, & H20) and brought Michael Myers back in the Blumhouse Trilogy.

Now officially not cannon.

I come back to Phelous’ Halloween videos yearly and only now I realize on 5:44, there’s a fricken hand creeping on that mirror!

As far as I'm concerned Micheal Myers was killed off for good in Halloween II when Dr Samuel Loomis blew both himself and Micheal up in the hospital.

Busta Rhymes uses Electro Ball. It's super effective. Michael Myers fainted.

Was that Atari controller part at the end a reference the AVGN episode on the Halloween game? Or perhaps just a reference to that game in general? Never really payed attention to it before, so I never thought to ask.

Trivia: there's a clause in the contracts for the HalloweeN movies that prohibits the killing off of Michael Myers.

I know you don't do horror movies anymore, or at least very often, but I hope someday you do Halloween 3 because I always found it to be a fascinating entry in the franchise that's often overlooked and underappreciated.

Michael used his own arms to stab him against the door. You said he needed a third arm? No he had to knives. One in each hand. He grabbed both arms and stuck him that way. They even show the movement.
