Halifax Crash Memorial Families - BBC Points West - 25th March 2024
Families on both sides of the Atlantic will be paying tribute to their ancestors who died in a plane crash in Gloucestershire during the second world war. Seven crew aboard a Halifax bomber died when it crashed on Cleeve Common near Cheltenham. Our Gloucestershire reporter Steve Knibbs has been hearing from two families - thousands of miles apart - who will be coming together in the summer to join a commemoration service on the 80th anniversary of the crash.

This will be a heart felt occasion where literally all the relative will be able to come together and remember their loved ones.
Excellent piece Steve. The image of the telegram is particularly poignant.
