PGSC day 1: Picked up at train station, get a introduction presentation, get dinner, get your day sack with hi-viz, sports bib and water bottle, go to accommodation, make beds, clean then sleep day 2: Poop, shower and shave, make beds, clean more, inspection, go get breakfast, go to sports hall, do 2 km run, static dead-lift and medicine ball throw, then to push-ups and sit ups, off to swim....at this point they tell people who passed and who failed, people who failed go get their things then go home, if you pass you then go look at the weapons used by the regiment, off to lunch, over to the regimental museum (pretty cool things in there), over to lesson room, talk about yourself, Maths and English to see where people are at, go through different ways people struggle to learn, presentation about the regiment, over for dinner, back to accommodation, clean up everyone's bed who left, clean the place, get your suit ready for the next day, chill out in the common room then sleep. day 3: clean up your bed, poop, shower, shave, clean more, inspection, get all your stuff together, breakfast, lesson room, get your education certificates photocopied, get your certificate to say you passed the PGSC, get another presentation, get asked how the course was and how it could be better, get on the bus, go to the train station and go home. Just practice the 2 km run on grass, road and treadmill, get good at press-ups and sit-ups because a minute goes quick, practice explosive chest, arms and shoulders exercises for the 4kg-4m medicine ball throw, legs for the deadlift and just get confident at swimming. Some people needed to eat more on my PGSC because they were simply too skinny. The ones who failed were the ones that didn't train or practice, not many can just turn up thinking they will pass and it'll only get harder with basic training and then even more with phase 2 training. Put the effort in and you will get the reward.

My father was one of the original Rock apes , spent some time as a recruit instructor at RAF Padgate , and was a member of the Queens colour squadron got into a lot of trouble whilst serving in Germany at the end of the war where Fraternisation rules meant nothing to him when it came to going out with my mother , who he was hell bent on marrying, to compromise and get rid of the problem they were shipped out to Libya and RAF El Adem , interesting story while he was out their again in 1959 , he was part of a small unit that went off into the desert to try and locate the remains of a Blenheim bomber, one of three which got lost during the war and had to land , a tragic tale of survival in the desert with only one crew surviving in the end, they managed to find three bodies to bring back for a proper military funeral, he served 22 years .

When I enlisted in the RAF as an aircraft mechanic we were told that the RAF Regiment was for airfield defence. First posting RAF Ballykelly 1970, the I R A were shooting soldiers 17 miles down the road(Londonderry) with the latest M16 rifles, who was guarding the airfield, with pickaxe handles ? We were, the airmen/tradesmen, I never saw an RAF Regiment man in all my tour there, it was always us that did the guard as well as our regular duties. 2nd tour, R A F Colerne, during the I R A mainland bombing campaign, Colerne was the home of 2 Field Squadron R A F Regiment, who did the guard duties ? The tradesmen, again, we were guarding the guys who were suppossed to guard the aurfield ! 3rd tour Cyprus 1974, Turkish invasion time, 3 Field Squadron RAF Regiment were stationed at Akrotiri, who did the guard duties, again it was the tradesmen, the Regiment gallantly sunned themselves on the beach manning anti-aircraft guns, gallantly risking skin cancr to defend us from a non-existent air threat. GO ON, TELL ME ABOUT THE R A F REGIMENT !

We are still being deployed, although there is no war for us to fight, it is still a dangerous place, where you should remain alert and always do your job how you've been trained. As I was going through online application, can you explain me above paragraph? What does DV and SC stand for? 2. In the above paragraph it says commonwealth citizens doesn't need 5 years residency requirement. Could you explain please? 3. Is there any alternate ways where I don't have to stay for 3 years and join the force, I am 37 years old and I am ageing day by day and it will be really difficult to apply for different post. 4. Till which age I can apply for different post? 5. If I do get through Royal Air Force, how long can I serve and what is the age for retirement? 6. Is there any criteria for heights? @@Benakhawlhring Sorry about the late reply, I’ve only seen this. I’ll explain it just in case you still need it. They ask about the RAF stations, current RAF operations, about NATO, about your role, about your training, the aircrafts, about why you want to join, why you picked RAF over the Army and Navy. These are just some of them. They may ask more or less. I would recommend downloading Reddit and following the Royal Air Force forum. It’s really helpful, you will find your answers to pretty much everything. It’s really, really important that you learn this. You can learn by simply researching these areas and writing them down and revising them. If you provide me your email, I can show you what I’ve done so far.

Women are now allowed to join the Royal Marine Commandos, but the standards haven't been lowered for them. They will have to do exactly the same as the male nod's. The only exception the corp has made for them is, separate toilets and showers. If they complete the Commando tests, then they will have earned their Green Lid the same as everyone else and will be warmly welcomed to the corp.
