He is not an actor or really famous, just has YT viewership but to use a comparison, he literally knows you as much as Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie do. Please separate fantasy from reality

I love how he both showed us on a mannequin head and on himself, so we got to not only see how it would look if we were doing it to someone else or to ourselves, but also it's easier to trust someone who is willing to do it himself to show us the results. It was also eye-opening to see even him look nervous during the process and the relief afterwards, which is just proof that cutting our own hair is not a true replacement for going to a hair stylist, even if you're a professional hairstylist. We might be able to cut our own hair and make it passable, but if we want it be really good, we need to go to the hair salon.

I’m autistic and my sensory issues don’t always play well with salons, and this video was so helpful. I didn’t have thinning scissors so I used a razor comb and it worked great for me. That and some earplugs for the loud clippers made this totally doable, and my hair no longer looks like a neglected blackberry bramble.

My 7 year old son is Autistic and my oldest son’s Dad is the only one he lets cut his hair because he distracts him with talking loud when he uses the clippers and telling what he’s doing at every step. It is so good to hear from other Autistic people, especially adults, what bothers and what helps them so I can try different things with him. Many people try to give me “advice” but other Autistic people is always who I listen to. ❤

Afreenish Yusirah I cut my daughters bangs periodically to keep up between cuts. I usually wet them, use the little comb and cut them straight across so they’re even. Then I pick up a section and cut it angled from the eye outward for lack of a better description. Like he does with the top. I do that all the way across. It helps keep it from being super blunt. Then I point cut the ends to just make it a bit wispy. It looks good and her super hair picky dad can’t tell so 🤷🏼‍♀️

oOEarlGreyAllDay Oo hairdresser tip: don’t wet the bangs. They should be dry as you cut them, so you do not cut too much. Hair is weighed down when weight, and once dried, it bounces back up. Hope this helps in the future! ☺️

harri If it’s the video I am thinking of, I think it was only blunt/fringe bangs. It would be nice to see how to get side bangs properly that will blend in with the rest of your hair. Or bangs for curly or texture hair!

I just followed this video to cut my 9yr. old sons hair for picture day tomorrow and it looks so good! He’s been getting bullied at school for his shaggy hair lately and we haven’t had to money to take him to the barber like usual. My best friend did it, he did the sides and I looked in the mirror and it sounds cheesy but I saw myself so much more clearly than I’d ever seen before. I’ve been on testosterone for a while but didn’t realize how much it had masculinized my face shape bc I’ve kept my hair pretty long the whole time. My best friend said I’m “straight up sexy in a gay way” after he finished the haircut and tbh I agree so thanks so much!!

That is so wonderful to hear!! I cut my own hair early in my transition, using the "women's" tutorial & ending up w/ a bowl cut. It didn't look TERRIBLE but it wasn't ideal. For the last year, I've kinda let my hair go because I haven't felt like struggling through another attempt, but... I've been on T for almost 8 months now & I'm experiencing the same thing - I want to see my features when I look in the mirror. My grown-out neglected hair makes my face look so round. Good luck to me finally trying this out!! I already have an undercut, so at least I'm halfway there. 😁😁😁 And good luck to you on your journey! I would pay for this tutorial. I want short hair, I don’t trust hairdressers, but I don’t trust myself either- however, I do trust Brad.

I've been cutting my hair since quarantine started and just now thought to check your channel for a step by step (i used to literally binge watch all your stuff about coloring hair). I was so scared to take out the clippers every time because i always felt like it was gonna be the end of my head because of a mess up. I also trans and no one in my family who supports me had short hair so i have like no experience with short hair but holy shit!!! this video saved this hair cut, i went from looking like a Beatles reject to feeling hella masc, tysm. I'm watching this every time i cut my hair from now on

Hey in the same boat here. I'm currently in the process of doing this and this tutorial is amazing because he makes sure to mention all the important parts. My boyfriend did the the first part cutting the sides and the back and it was so easy he nailed it first time. Might be a bit more complicated if you do it by yourself though. But definitely doable Edit : it's done and it looks amazing!!

To be honest I was shit scared that I would stuff it up as I have never trusted myself to cut his hair after a stuff up when he was a toddler! Just cut my husband’s hair! It was driving me nuts, so I finally took matters into my own hands! Plus the clippers pretty much paid for themselves now that he doesn’t have to go to a salon anymore. I didn’t have thinning shears, but it looked alright. My husband’s hair is super fine due to albinism, so it didn’t look too chunky in that tapered section. Thank you Brad!!

This video is every transmascs saving grace lol Seriously, ty for this video, it's incredibly helpful. I did this haircut for myself with kitchen scissors once, it came out fine, but it was a pain to say the least.

I was a hairstylist 20 years ago and have been out of practice, only cutting my own hair and a few loved ones, for about 17 years. I just gave myself this cut, which is a variation on, the undercut I've been giving myself for 10ish years, and I actually learned so much! I've never done a fade on myself because I was too worried about how to do the back. It looks way better than any cut I've given myself. You're a wizard and I love you! ❤️

@@BrightSun-xe5yu advisory is like an extra class, but you are out in that room usually based off your last name. My high school does it a little different from other schools so we used to have advisory every Wednesday before lunch (most advisories are first thing in the morning) and every with the last name V-Z was there, but it was like self study. It's not like that in every school but I hope you kinda get the idea. It's similar to a Homeroom I guess

Okay, I feel a lot less lame, now, about taking so long to cut my own hair. Clearly it takes even a hairdresser longer to cut their own hair in the exact same style. This video helped a lot. Although I'd figured much of it out over the years, my style is usually similar to yours, so thank you for the great demonstration. I've been cutting my own hair because it grows fast, I like it short, I have several cowlicks, and the cost adds up really fast. When I could afford it I indulged. Now I'm on a fixed income and appropriate upkeep for me I calculate to come to around 15% of my income. That's nuts, so I need this instruction. I'm really tired of looking ridiculous because I do it half-assed, sometimes not even bothering to finish all in one session. I probably should buy new clippers, given these are possibly older than you. LOL

Thank you for this! I cut my fiance's hair for the first time the other night and I watched your tutorial fist. I had never ever cut men's hair so I was basically clueless. He'd try to give me a tip and I'd say "that's not what Brad said to do" lol. It wasn't necessarily perfect, but I think it looks better than any haircut he's had and he was really happy with it.
