Thats so dissapointing to hear. As a technican for a brand that I will say is not quite a prestigous as ferrari but is still up there. So they charge $1100 for an inspection which according to them is worthless. Since at most a customer gets double the money back. No matter what injury or damage results from their error. Where as a shop doing a state inspection for say $20 could potentially be stripped of their license for ignoring something.

Ferrari’s whole business model is based on ‘screw you, we are Ferrari and you should just pay up’ I have had extensive experience dealing with Ferrari owners and dealerships here in the UK and the song remains the same. If you dare to question their unscrupulous business practices they cancel your future orders, won’t work on your cars going forward and never admit they are at fault until forced to do so by litigation. Don’t expect any kind of resolution until this actually goes to court and then, on the day, you will maybe get an offer if you sign to keep your mouth shut… don’t do it, stand your ground and out these ridiculous practices by these arrogant people who quite honestly should know better. They get away with abominable rates and charges with a ridiculous lack of ‘customer service’ far too many times and should be called out on this at every opportunity, until someone at Ferrari realises that this is just no way to run a company. Best of luck!
The best attorney is the one that keeps you OUT of court. Sometimes there is no other option.
This car seems like it’s had a rough life. I’d hate for this to be “the one” in terms of 458 you plan on keeping around
The crazy thing with the PPI inspection is: there's no skin off their balls if they find a bunch of things wrong and you don't buy the car, they were paid to find issues and you'd think the more they found, the happier a customer (with them) you'd be. Unless of course the person who was SELLING you the car, was a good customer of theirs. "hey this guy is bringing my car in for a PPI, here's $4000 to "miss" a bunch of things". If someone was paying ME $1300 to do an inspection I'd make not of every paint blemish, stripped screw head or sticky button on the car.....
They have been doing this to customers for years and Ferrari turns a blind eye. Get ‘‘‘em Rob, don’t let up 👌
Good luck, Rob. Hopefully things are made right and this isn't a drawn out thing. Happy Thanksgiving.
So..what the dealer is saying..our inspections are essentially worthless and you should have no confidence in a service they’ve selling ..that’s supposed to provide confidence to the customer who is buying the car 🤔

Eager to hear how this goes. Seems like Spagetti always has a lawsuit brewing.
The dealer has obviously not watched any of your vlogs to get an idea of who they're dealing with. I'd trust you with my bank account if I had any money in it! 😁 The dealer is way off base, and the person who signed off on the inspection should be given more training, and should likely be fired or moved to a position that won't require paying people off when he makes another mistake. Good luck Rob, look forward to the outcome which I'm certain will result in the dealer covering most of the repairs if not all!😎👍✌☃🎄🤶🎄
That car has sheetrock screws holding on the front splitter, I don't have a Ferrari, but I'm pretty sure that's not how they do it.
The number 1 problem with Ferrari is the entire eco-system in which the brand now lives. The entire space is filled with scammers, liars, roll-backs and dirty deals. I guess Ferrari must be OK with this or is just resigned to it. Because it is sooooo common. Barf.
🙂 Thank you for your time, Rob. What is the latest news concerning the bad PPI done on your 458 by the Ferrari dealer?

I've just been through this for 2 cars and a boat. The boat was listing to the side. Had to get a naval architect to Dona full report and get lawyers invloved before they would entertain a buy back. It shouldn't be that hard these days. If it's faulty or not what was promised then they should refund... 2 new cars and a new boat. Lawyers invloved in 2 of them. One I sold it onto someone who wanted the fight. At a discount of course and I did that because I couldn't be assed going through the process once again. It makes me so wary of new cars. Second hand I can accept a few issues

Rob, at 4:50 damn the color diff would kill me on fender vs bumper
THIS IS A WRECK CAR! THE HOOD AN D BUMPER ARE A DARKER RED THAN THE QUARTER PANEL AND BACK END OF THE CAR. 8:35 !!!!!!

Name. The. Dealership. 🎉🎉
Dealers have always gotten away without litigation. Like, lifetime transmission fluid. Ferrari has no service recommendation for even your ferrari here. That's bs. Fluids are not lifetime products. Even Getrag, who makes the transmission has a service interval recommendation. Withholding that info could be criminal.
Is the front bumper a slightly different shade then the body?
But also the dealership model is dying for a reason. These people are desperate and are clawing at anything they can retain, you didn’t buy a good one still. You can’t trust anyone, you didn’t do your do diligence. Miller and Plainview are always decent. Jersey! Not a good look.

Those guys are real pricks for treating Rob like that! Essentially giving Rob the raw deal on that car cause they were helping another one of there customers out by passing the car so he could sell it to Rob and buy another vehicle from them Guarantee that’s wat happened!!!!!!🤦♂️
I hate the drama of legal problems. I dable in real estate and there's always a problem with realtors, inspections and attorneys.
Ive got two questions Ive been pondering, and these are coming out of genuine curiosity. First, would it do any good to approach Ferrari and show them what two of their dealerships are trying to pull? Im sure that Ferrari has dealer standards like Lincoln, Lexus, McLaren and all other "Premium brand" OEMs. and theirs are likely leaps and bounds above the others in regards to white gloving them to death. Question two, and somewhat related to the whole "white glove up the you know what" category, why are you such a Ferrari person when its widely known how much of a PITA they are in their "ownership standards" for lack of a better term at this time..... so much so that Jay Leno for example wont touch them with a 10 foot pole?
So is it safe to say your preorders will be cancelled somehow?
Hey Rob, any plan getting one of the new Range Rovers?
Good luck!
Did they offer to unwind the deal?

"When you know how to buy cars..." lol! It's a Rebuilt Titled vehicle. That should have been a definitive red flag that the PPI needed to have been done expeditiously and scrupulously. The fact that these defects weren't discovered and brought to anyone's attention reflect poorly on the seller. That said, the $70,000 below Wholesale selling price is likely why they're digging their heels in the sand and not making an effort to work this out. Not saying it's right, just saying there's a reason most people avoid rebuilders/salvage titled cars, like a plague.

Name and shame, stuff them lol. They deserve it at this point.
Because it states in the contract that the dealer/inspection provider is only liable for up to 2X the price of the PPI, unfortunately it looks like Rob will probably be sunk on this one. The judge could say that client should have read the contract, and if the terms were found to be unacceptable then Rob should have contracted another inspection provider with more agreeable terms. Sometimes, what’s legal isn’t always what’s right. This proves the importance of reading the fine print, especially when there’s potential for significant financial loss.

@@Shrekasourus Without seeing the actual contract, and with the limited details in this video, it’s difficult to say what all the dealer could be liable for. There’s no doubt that fraud has been committed, but the dealer may only be liable for 2X the price of the PPI in this case. If injury or death had occurred, due to the dealer’s negligence, the case would go to a higher court. If the dealer was found responsible for injury or loss of life, judgement(s) would be based on precedent. No clause can grant the contract issuer legal immunity for injury or loss of life caused by negligence.

@@brianiswrong They admitted to their job not being proficient, which is why Rob was refunded the cost of the PPI. The issue is their financial liability, which according to the contract that Rob agreed to by signing, is no more than twice the price of the PPI.
