H1MIN: Me 163 SG 500 JÄGERFAUST
Ғылым және технология
The German Me 163 Komet is a well known rocket powered interceptor used during WW2. With the frequent bombing of industry in Germany, there were numerous inventions to counter Allied bombers. One of the late war developments was a weapon called the SG500 Jägerfaust (Hunter’s fist) which was tested and used briefly in 1945.
Similar to the “Schräge musik” cannons that facilitated shooting underneath bombers, this was a recoilless weapon.
I recommend Osprey publishing’s book “Jagdgeschwader 400” which details the Me163 with this weapon and other well researched notes.
Another excellent resource worth reading:

“While a powerful weapon, it came too late to have any effect.” -late war German tech in a nutshell
@itsa_possum
3 жыл бұрын
That is mid war tech, building "the strongest" tanks and the "best" tech in hopes of outclassing the enemy. Fortunately the allies had very capable arms and tech on their own (greatly outclassing the Nazis in some fields) so that approach failed spectacularly and was unsustainable. Those suicide pills with wings here are the late war efforts of "strap some wood n shit and explosives together and get some poor sucker to fly it". It was not advanced or good, it was shoddy tech not standing a snowflakes chance in hell to put a dent into the allied war machine even if they were produced in greater numbers

@Fred G. It has to be. I'm an amateur 3D artist who does modeling and animation and the work to produce some of these is pretty astounding. Moreso, I've seen videos where shit didn't need to be animated but was anyway, apparently "just because". Which is a kind of gratuitous that normally doesn't happen when you have to put so much work in to get up a single second or two of rendered animation.

Love the shot of the wreck 163 in the forest, not sure why but I like to see old planes wreck and abandoned in forests, gives me an urge to find a souvenir

This is based on photos/film of actual wrecks the allies discovered at Brandis AFB in 1945. The very little visual evidence that his weapon was used.

I've never seen a channel which is so dedicated to the point where it takes weeks animating for videos no longer than 2 minutes. Respect.
Damn this animation is CRISP!
Thank you for your work, it is dearly appreciated. Short, informative, interesting videos of past and present vehicles, weapons, pieces of history, battles, etc. It is an incredible way to discover something you did not know or to spend that little time how nice is the information you provided of something someone may already have known about. I knew about the Me163 but not about that grenade launcher system. And in one minute, I was inspired to write a message that took me two minutes to write, just to thank your efforts that provide us with great content !
Quick, short and to the point. Love your vids.

Wonderful work!
Just found out this channel, really good video quality!
Love your channel! Keep it up!
The tubes were located in the wing root fairings, not mid-span as this video shows. delayed charges were used so each shell fired a few milliseconds after each other. The tubes were not rifled and were set for slight spread to ensure a hit. they could only be fired simultaneously, one time, and then had to be reloaded after the Komet landed.
This channel is gold baby💪🏼
Thanks . I just watched a couple last night and was wondering when another would arrive .
amazing that this plane was so fast with such a small propeller and i like this smoke generator thing in the back
