核桃酥 Walnut Cookies / Hap Toh Soh
Ingredients :
300g plain flour (普通面粉)
1/2 tsp baking powder(发粉)
1/2 tsp baking soda (苏打粉)
150g pork lard (猪油)
150g caster sugar (细砂糖)
1 egg
Some walnuts for decoration
核桃适量,装饰用
1 egg, mixed with 1/8 tsp of salt and lightly beaten, for glazing
1粒鸡蛋,加入1/8小匙盐打散,涂饼用
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15 minuets.
放入已预热烤箱,以180°C烤15分钟。

Made these today with margarine instead of lard, I also added some Chinese lemon oil to my dough as flavor. In my oven they took exactly 15 minutes as recipe stayed! They smell fantastic 😋
Thank you so much for a more traditional recipe. These look like they will taste like they used to. People keep changing things to be more healthful and ruining them.
