I cannot express how helpful this video is. You actually taught your audience and gave them specific and constructive directions on exactly what simple steps to do first. I can do it with a spotter ,but by myself is hard. I know my body can do it, it's just my mind that's taking control. The hardest thing about this isn't flipping your body, it's building up the confidence to even try it.

Thank you! My son is getting into martial arts and popping. He was in gymnastics but they didn't have the kids do anything except run around and catch foam balls when jumping in a foam ball pit. Way different than when I was in gymnastics. They had no mercy, first the trampoline, then the balance beam and parallel bars and floor work. All within a month. Hard to find legit (not romper rooms) gymnasiums. You explain things easily and obviously take care of yourself! Peace

This is a great video. All of these build-up exercises are actually help and your set against the wall is what I have been taught to do by my coach. I can do back handspring, but watching this video made me think about what the best technique should be again.

A standing backhandspring is truly coordination, requires certain amount of shoulder flexibility. and jumping backwards A backflip is about jumping up to rotate 360. Not saying backflip is easy but compared to a standing handspring , it is truly a complex skill.

I was scared out of my mind when i first wanted to start doing these, then i went up to my room and i was like, eh what the fuck. I piled like 4 fluffy blankets and 10 pillows and tried to start. Once i got it, i would remove a blanket and a pillow. Soon i was at nothing. THEN i tried to show off in front of my friends....and i had a total blow out.... So ill keep trying to gain confidence again xx

If you're afraid of jumping back, use these progressions: 1 - Macaco (just using one arm, going more through the side and gradually progress by going more overhead) 2 - Macaco (also land the other arm, first placing the second arm more to the side and progress by placing it more parallel) 3 - Standing Macaco (do the last variation of the macaco, but more from a standing position) - you're pretty much doing a Back Handspring. 4 - Back Handspring ;) Hope it helps!

Instead of learning from the lesson being taught everybody nit picks smh if you could do a back hand spring on your own, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't have looked it up.

Yeah same. Going to a gym or something would help or if you have a friend to help you spot. Thats what got me through this =)
