There's a video about rewriting the war arc, and he mentions that Rock Lee and Gai/Guy embody the point of the entire series mroe than naruto himself - that the circumstances of ones birth do not determine your future /that hard work and commitment pays off. In his idea - GUY should've died here, but also should've killed madara, no regenerating half his body shit. Then b zetsu would come take over and bring Kaguya. I like that way more, would add even more hype to this

@@Gabrielnobre That is a big fat NO. Obito is the stongest akatsuki member ( yes, even stronger than pain). He went toe to toe with prime minato when he was 14 years old. Thirty years old obito who has been preparing for infinite tsukoyomi is even stronger. Itachi can't do shit against kamui. He is probably stronger than itachi in all ninjutsu, taijutsu and even genjutsu ( since he kept a jinchuriki under his control for several years when he was 13). He even defeated a well-prepared konan who was 100% sure that obito would die. Itachi is strong man but Obito is on a whole new level.

@@Gabrielnobre No lol kisame is really strong. His chakra reserve is next level ( comparable to a tailed beast). And he is not simple-minded either. He can beat any member of the akatsuki except itachi, pain and obito. Although he might even beat itachi if it is a prolonged fight.

The best part about this fight is that Might Guy achieved everything through his own hard work, determination and perseverance. He, who was an ordinary human, with no special bloodlines or alien genes or abilities to speak of. He who was ridiculed as a failure and a flop for not even being able to use Ninjutsu and Genjutsu, who was once considered bottom rung lowest tier fodder, managed to achieve the ability to fight against a Living God and Legend himself, even if it was only for a short and brief moment, and even managed to kick said Legend's a$$. This very fight is so very touching in that, all the hard work and suffering Guy endured had finally paid off.

You said it beautifully! And to prove you are right, night guy is the move he practiced more than any other move in his life. I don't know if you've ever noticed but Night Guy is just Dynamic Entry with the 8 gates open!! I love how they did that

Fun fact: guys dad might duy killed 6 of the seven ninja swordsman and the only 1 of them survived to tell the tale but in the anime he only killed 4 because of the filler

@@gledalac6715 in therms of taijutsu, Guy is the strongest of all characters from the entire Naruto Universe. You can choose anyone, without their ninjutsu or genjutsu tricks or bijus help, they would all lose. Except maybe one: third raikage. He was a monster and had one of the toughest defenses of all, only pierced through by his own attack. He reminds me of Saitama from OPM. The only way to defeat him is by making him hit himself with full power. In OPM manga, Saitama is facing Garo, which gained the ability to copy anything. Last chapter ended with a neverseen angry Saitama throwing a super serious attack against Garo, and Garo's instantly copying his serious stance and his super serious attack back to him. Let's see who defeats who. I bet Saitama beats the copy. As i said, he can only be defeated by one of his own strongest attacks, not by a copy

What so best fight if one just stood there and only defense while one is exceed human being and obtain a god like power plus with the help by 4th hokage, 6th hokage, 4th kazekage and konoha jonin but still not win and died . Guy is my favorite character but this fight wasn't really good in my opinion. It was simply exposition for the 8gates and the fight was inconsequential to the plot. Madara didn't do anything, didn't throw a punch, use a jutsu or the techniques used against N & S. After it ends, Madara regenerates and the REAL fight with Naruto and Sasuke starts. Naruto saving Guy at the end adds insult to injury. After paying the ultimate price for the chance to end Madara, Ninja Jesus taps him and makes his sacrifice worthless. But hey red vapor dope tho.

@@arcaneben9171 Rock Lee vs Gaara is a great fight. It a continuous display of each fighter's skill set. Unlike Madara, Gaara struggles against Lee and has to take him seriously. It's not one sided like Guy's fight. Imagine if Madara actually tried using a jutsu, limbo or anything really. He threw some orbs that's all he did.

I sounds like one of the best fights on paper, but the animation could have been a lot better. The speed and power of the 8th gate was not exhibited properly by the creators of the show which was disappointing, especially since Gai Sensei and his dad are some of my favourite characters in the entire show.

The amount of strength Guy could use with the Eight inner gates is awesome! It's no wonder this technique is said to give the user power beyond the five Kage!

Nakara path gets blitzed. 5. Human path gets blitzed. 6. Deva path only works through the pull + chakra rod...Guy doesn't need chakra. 7 gate guy would win vs pain.

This might very well be the strongest person in all of Naruto. He damn near killed Madara Uchiha with the 10 tails and infinite regeneration, 100% with his own strength. He didn’t have any kekkai genkai, he didn’t have any tailed beasts, he didn’t have any powers from the Sage of Six Paths, he didn’t even use jutsu. This was pure, 100%, raw power from a man who built it all on his own.

It’s not only the best fight but the best flashback in the entire anime.

I come back to watch this scene between my 2 favorite characters of all time and it makes me emotional and gives me chills every time

Man I wish I could rewatch this for the first time again. This moment was so hyped reading it and then watching it

Because Gai had nothing but Taijutsu, something about that and him almost killing Madara is greater than Naruto with the help of his pet fox almost killing an alien dude with less history than Madara and story coverage overall. But to each their own, maybe to another person's ear Baryon mode sounds better. But because this story is about Narudo and Saski being the best, I believe the writer wanted Gai to be better at some point (and I think other characters too) but he had to scrap those ideas and nerf Gai (remove the leg) and set him aside. I think most writers get those ideas and move on from them, it's part of the creative process maybe. I hope sometime in the Boruto Shippuden or whatever they will call it when he faces a big threat similar to Madara he or someone might look back at Gai and instead of the ninjutsu and shinjutsus or whatever they use Taijutsu and activate the Gate of Death to beat that threat. That would be nice but honestly it doesn't matter, what we got from Gai is enough.

Even though ikemoto thought Baryon mode was a power up, It didn't look from any angle,, considering Base Naruto from The movie ..He literally made a hole through the moon just by punching.. and so called powerup baryon mode punches weren't even making any crater .. plus mostly all the actions were just a remake of Naruto vs sasuke from OG Naruto

I was expecting this epicness ever since Orochimaru attacked during the chuunin exams and Guy ran up to a sound ninja in a flash and casually put him through a wall. No techniques, nothing, he just (teleport)ran up to a dude and smashed him against a wall. I knew Guy was a beast of beasts that moment, hell that moment probably inspired the attack on titan series for all I know

I got so many goosebumps when watching this scene

@@mohamedrishwan8819 Highly doubt it. His taijutsu surpasses everyone he's fought, but that's about it. It's a very obvious attack that Madara straight up let him land. Madara saw it coming and just stood there to see if he could tank it. In reality, Guy would've easily lost at this point if Madara dodged and countered him. Yall forget that without the help of 3 people blocking his orbs, Guy wouldn't have been able to land a punch. There's also the fact that Madara would have izanagi/izanami as a Trump card and Hashirama uses wood clones and self regeneration. Guy only has a chance if he can land a fatal blow which is very slim

If Kaguya was going to be the final boss anyway, the writer could have made Guy kill Madara thus strongly proving how hardwork can do wonders. Such a missed opportunity. They could have even made Guy and Lee team up with 8 gates against this Madara to defeat him. Then they could have had Naruto and Sasuke take on the final boss thus maintaining their main character status.

That's just the regen ability from Ten Tails. Hashirama's regen is a weak version born from wood style which also came from the God Tree/Ten tails. That's a well established plot device i say.

This makes me want to rewatch the whole series starting from the very beginning

For real. Tenten was a breath of fresh air when she was introduced since she was the only leaf genin kunoichi who was actually serious about being a ninja, but then she basically did nothing throughout the entire series except for filler stuff.

Guy surviving this legendary fight because of a random deus ex machina is one of the most disapointing things that happened in Naruto, and that is saying lot. It would have been such a memorable way to go out.

Guy is the real "Naruto" of the show: he surpasses almost everyone just by training like crazy.

Guy was so fast, strong, and had such a high energy density that just his presence is this reality started to warp space time. He was a living low energy warp drive for a solid couple seconds thats just wild.

I don't care what anyone says, THIS was the best episode of Naruto Shippuden, this was the culmination of the whole story INCLUDING Naruto from the start, this was a showcase of what years of dedication can accomplish, this is something that now comes to my mind when I talk about hard work, Might Guys journey from the beginning, and in part Narutos Journey to tame Kurama AND learn the same mode his Master left him, it's my favorite Naruto Episode hands down

This is how a technique should be balanced. Great techniques should have huge consequences, in this case, dying. It made the decision to use it much more impactful and emotional due to the high risk.

I respect the Seven ninja swordsmen even more for taking that 8gates and still survived two members lol

I love the parallel to lee vs Gaara where their ultimate final attack doesn’t finish off the enemy and right as they’re defenseless, someone steps in to save them. Guy did it for lee, and now it came full circle

Madara sounds like he's just having fun this whole episode. He talks to Guy like they're on a roller coaster together. "You crazy bastard! I almost died!" And he talks to Naruto like he just got a fresh haircut.

I don't there is any Naruto fan who doesn't like GUY. GUY is just awesome. The Strongest. Even in the reactions, we can see all became quiet while Naruto was giving life energy to GUY.

There are three Ten-Tails jinchuriki in the story, Hagoromo, Obito, and Madara. Madara is the only one who almost got killed while being Ten-Tails jinchuriki and it was caused by Maito Guy, a strongest taijutsu master.

To be precise, Might Guy is an ordinary ninja who doesn't have any unique abilities. But becomes a great ninja when he uses his taijutsu skills.

@@IamMikesky What's your point by saying that he doesn't have any unique abilities? Guy is the only one who can use all of the 8 inner gates in the entire show. And he was one of the greatest ninja right from the beginning. Remember how itachi and kisame fucked up 3 high level jonins but retreated as soon as guy appeared ? He was always the strongest.

@Adrian Scott Stop making up facts yourself. Nowhere is it mentioned that Madara knew about any other eight gate users. In fact, He complimented him and was really honored to fight with guy. And yes, if you include might dai then there are two such users but no other.

@@sane7628 he did know about other eight gate users. If he didn't, then he wouldn't have known that the 8th gate was red as he called it "red vapor". Key word is "know", not "fought".

Almost all genius ninjas was acknowledge the power of might guy Madara Itachi even warn kisame to not underestimate guy when they visit konoha village Kakashi Naruto

Most epic moment was when Madara was like laughing: You bastard I almost died!

After all these years still one of the best fights in all of naruto. Madara, the man that destroyed the 5 kages, and he was pratically a god at this point, showing respect towards guy is one of the coolest damn scenes in all anime ever. Such a badass fight. This one scene made guy top 3 best naruto characters for me

for me this fight would be the number 1 if guy killed Madara here and died on the field like he was supposed to. the 8 gates was the jutsu that was teased from the very start of Naruto and constantly foreshadowed up to this moment. this was guys time to die and be remembered for it. instead he's some circus show in Boruto in a wheelchair. it's sad how badly they fucked up this moment.

Its insane that Guys father was a Genin but in his fight Vs the 7 Swordman he killed 4 of them that showns how strong the 8 Gates are even if a Genin uses it..

Acknowledgement of his strength from Madara himself is more than honorable

It was meant to be Midnight Dragon if it followed along with his previous moves' names, but Night Guy does make it a lot more emotional and fits the scene more.

I get goosebumps every single time I watch this scene

8 gates is an ability available to any ninja,but not accessible to all, it literally requires an insane level and of physical t fortify your body to withstand these kind of pressures. Guy knew what it required, and trained insanely towards that goal, and he still had to experience the bone-shattering pain at least once during the fight to acclimate.

Only Kasumo and itachi know that Gai very strong

Night Guy is basically the op version of the Dynamic Entry. The latter was the first jutsu Guy showed at the beginning of the series and Night Guy was his last.

He actually knew. Itachi feared guy, and as a member of akatsuki had probably warned pain about guy, as he warned kisame.
