    My first real deck was a mono Wind deck with nothing but Wind type monsters which eventually turned into Winged Beast. So the Gusto deck was a natural fit. Seeing people flabbergasted as I ran my searchers into their large monsters was always a treat.

    My first real coherent deck was a just junk synchro deck with a mix of other cards that would support my synchro summons, my aces being mist wurm and junk destroyer! Later on i played alot of tag force 5 on my psp and got way better at Yugioh. Eventually i fell in love with blackwings and crow became my favorite character. Blackwings are still my favorite deck to this day! And finding ways to gain extra normal summons to use black whirlwind multiple times a turn never ceases to amaze people with it's search power even with the search heavy decks of today!

    Still don't have a deck irl But I'm glad to have you in the duel terminal family as my first Deck was trying out gem knights in duel links but later Laval became my favorite after making a deck with it on a simulator and having a friend teach me actually to play .. Laval will always have a spot in me and when Konami eventually makes Hidden Arsenal Chapter 2 , I'll be buying a he'll out of that to get laval and hope for a little laval dice with the token guy on it

    I usually just bought structure decks until the first deck I was really serious about playing, monarch's. I picked it for personal reasons but now the only reason why I play it is for fun and nostalgia, those personal reasons aren't a part of my life anymore, so I don't want to go into them too much. I remember doing a combo that could bring out 3 of my strongest monarch's, and with domain of the true monarch out I could take out most decks. The way I play it now isn't all too different from how I played it back when I started, focusing more on utility than control, and with the ability to just pull any monarch from your deck you can always have the right monarch for every situation. When I found out about side decks I would swap out cards to have a deck specifically to deal with my friends deck, and I felt like that one character in Yu-Gi-Oh GX who had 6 decks.

    My first deck was just a bunch beatsticks together, then an earth attribute deck, but my first real deck was probably zombies with the spice of Sacred Phoenix. Eventually, I build this deck too, I don't remember using it against friends because... well, Hidden Arsenal took a long time to be imported into the tcg, but I do remember using it in video games, and it was a blast, not very strong at first glance but it was consistent as hell and the grindgame was incredible.

    First deck with a coherent strategy… Ho boy, that one took a Long time to get to. Honestly, I never really got into any strong deck building till “Light of Destruction” Back then I sorely Lacked any good Deck building ideas. As I couldn’t build any deck with any powerful cards. At least not till The End of the GX era. When Lightsworns Absolutely killed Decks left and right! That First Sneak Peak really gave me life when I pulled Lightsworn Monk Secret! I found my love fore playing Yugioh with RIsk Vs Reward Decks! And at the time, Lightsworns were the biggest gamble you could even play! I mean, the rush of potentially decking our while you were easy chaining effects was a solid deck! Sadly it only lasted for so long once Synchros got stronger stuff. But yeah, Lightsworns would push me to get better at the game, as well as teach me how to enjoy yugioh.

    Ritual Blue-eyes was my first consistent deck. The first real deck for me was Gladiator beasts. Somehow I was the first in my area to realize it was a good deck.

  • @Elpresidente98
    @Elpresidente9811 ай бұрын

    My first "deck" was a mishmash of beater dragons with useful spells and traps and the small amount of Blue-Eyes support that was out at the time. It was given to me when I joined the Yugioh group at school. It was hand-me-down deck all the kids in the group had used as a first deck. I used it and just had fun with it. I lost many times, but it was fun. Then, the booster set High-Speed Riders came out. It was the first booster set I invested in, and I learned about the cards that came in the set. One archetype in specific caught my attention; PSY-Frame. After I got an Omega in the first couple of packs I opened, I decided then and there to make a PSY-Frame deck. It took a bit of time and quite a bit of money invested, but I built my first deck. A classic PSY-Frame deck with 3 Omegas, 3 Card Car D, 3 Pot of Duality, 3 Wind Up Rabbit etc. etc. The day after I finished it, I defeated all of my friends in that Yugioh club and gave them back the starter deck. Good times. I still have the PSY-Frame deck. It's waiting for the moment Omega goes back to 3.

    My first real deck was Lunalights. I had been experimenting with many different things when I first started dueling. Mostly Burn and Mills but Lunalights gave me fusion to the max. I loved them and their sailor moon theme. And when Sisters of the Roses pack came out I was all for them and have been going strong with it to this day only to occasionally switch up with my Traptrix girls

    I first started playing Yu-Gi-Oh back when the very first starter decks were released: Yugi and Kaiba; I bought the Yugi one because i remembered how little i had known about the game and just judging off the looks of the starter deck, i figured that, strategically speaking, the wizard looking charecter on the front of the box (The Dark Magician) probably meant the deck was more about using clever tricks over raw power, which appealed to me. Just within a few years later, my first actual competitive deck came around the same time my best buds and i decided to enter for our first locals tournament; It was a mish mash of monsters, spells, and traps that had no real cohesive strategy per say, but it shortly later on became your typical "Chaos deck" featuring "Black Luster Soldier: Envoy of the Beginning". I would call that my first technically competitive deck because it was what won me my very first tournament.

    weird choice but despite playing the game for 2 decades at this point, i never made my first real irl deck until this year due to no one around me growing up wanting to play the game and stayed on programs and video games. then i started playing vernuslyph and like the deck so much that i would buy the cards to make a real life version of it just for the sentimental value.

    (I basically rambled about decks over the years and my experiences with Yu-Gi-Oh so this is a long read, sorry about that but I hope you can enjoy my dumb ramblings) My first *many* decks were definitely basically scraps built off cards I could find as being an asian kid with no concept of an "allowance" or buying cards in general other than maybe during Christmas or my Birthday. Most cards I got in elementary school was basically given to me randomly from friends, I still have a good memory of some cards I used to use like Ryu-Ran being my "signature", Newdoria being the 9th ever card I have owned (being the most useful from scraps), & Regenerating Mummy as the 1st card I got from my friends. The closest thing I had to a decks with strategy was whenever I had the opportunity to steal a structure deck from my local Target like the Endymion, Lightsworn, & Twin Cyberdragon...yeah I was kinda a shit kid. Though first time I got a structure deck was actually when I begged my mom to buy the Azure Eyes Syncro & Blue Eyes structure deck that came with the a huge card verison of Azure Eyes. Most structure decks didn't really change cause strategy for an elementary schooler was hard. Around middle school a basically ran a general warriors deck with Six Samurai being the main stars as they were the first archetype that popped up together when I was in elementary, still mostly scraps but it was fun. I stopped playing around a year before highschool when Pendulums got introduced however the main reason I stopped was because the worst years of my life so far came in so I didn't have the time or happiness to really have fun with that. I still refined some older deck like dragon (blue eyes), spellcaster (dark magician), & my extremely janky elementary hero but never played as most people would probably be playing serious and I'd definitely wouldn't get the fun I had back in the day (and again worse years of my life in the background). I've been out of highschool for a year & recently came back to Yu-Gi-Oh just randomly coming across a Traptrix deck in target and thought it would seem interesting and slowly I started to love the game again. I've taking up to reading manga more often so reading about Sky Striker Ace made me want to build a deck and maybe have that be the main archetype I could try to use moving forward. Finding the Spirit Charmers structure deck in a messy card shop felt like a special experience so I grabbed 2 (as 1 was out for delivery that day) and I didn't get any duplicates on the tokens & paperplay mats. Ironically I bought and used Winda sleeves for the spirit charmers as she looked really similar to Wynn (heck the ebay seller labeled at as spirit charmers lmoa). At some point after thinking on it I grabbed 2 more Traptrix structure decks to refine the 1 a had as it deserves it for helping get back into get back into Yu-Gi-Oh. I may have not played against anyone modern and most of the other decks I have are probably too casual even be able to stand up against anyone but I was recently able to play with my old best friend from middle school using his old 60 card deck with my modified middle school deck and we had a blast. It was a close 2-1 game and we had some hilarious actual heart of the cards moment to turn the whole game around with 1 draw. We even tried using two casual decks I had made for fun and had a blast. If I could find my people who I could casually play with they would probably be one of the best feelings I'd get but if I have to adapt into doing more modern Yu-Gi-Oh I'd be down (even if it's still intimidating haha...) Thanks for reading my dumb ramblings, I probably put too much of my heart into this haha. Since you read this far I just hope you have a lovely day.

    I never had a functional deck physical but my first succesful deck in videogames was a mono type fire deck using Baseball Kid as a boss monster alongside some searchers and special summoning monsters throught graveyard removal Looking back it was kinda janky but man it was fun having a 3* monster with 4500 atk just for having fire pals alongside him

    My first real deck was... Actually my fourth one. The other 3 were structure decks (in order, the Junk Destroyer, Machina and Dragunity Legion ones) with a bunch of cards I considered fitting splashed into them. The "chosen one" was a less fortunate DT archetype, Jurracs, which I kept finding while trying to get Dragunity cards and eventually decided to make into a separate deck. It wasn't good by any means, but I'll never forget the joy of finally being able to duel with a deck made from scratch instead of a pre-built one, and I loved all the annoyance my battle destruction loops brought to my friends. I later got back into Dragunity by removing all those bricks child me had bloated it with as well as getting better cards from my friends. It ended up becoming arguably stronger than Jurrac, but I still kept playing both, and I'm still more attached to those little fire dinos. Even if I don't play Yugioh anymore, I still hope they'll get some new support one day like Gusto got... A man can dream.

    I ran gustos for YEARS. It was never a god tier deck but i loved playing it at my locals simply because a lot of the meta at the time didnt really have a reaction to the gusto's play style. True story, i had people who literally couldnt stand me because i not only ran gustos at locals, but i would occasionally top or even win entire tournaments with them because like i said, the meta didnt really have a counter to them. So you'd have these dudes running these $500+ high tier decks that would top regionals getting smoked by my no tier deck. I would love to write out the deck list i used at the time, but ill save you all from that. However i remember using thought ruler, tempest dragon, junk synchron, debris dragon, and cockadoodledoo to pull off some fun combos. Gustos will probably always be my favorite deck type.

    Gusto will forever be the DT archetype I ever will be associated with. Lmao. Did many videos of my own playing Gusto online before even building it myself. The inspiration to a buiĺd I started was from Cyberknight8610 and eventually, I would look around and make personal adjustments with my favorite at the time being Psi-Gusto (using various of the "banish" themed Psychic monsters like Serene Psychic Witch, Hushed Psychic Cleric, Silent Psychic Wizard, and Esper Girl in tandem with the core Gusto lineup) Then over the years, my current version is Windwitch Gusto. The new support from Dawn of Majesty (tbh. That doesn't feel new anymore lol) works pretty well even in such a hyrbid. Like you, i was enamored by the archetype's visual designs, it's slowerish playstyle and it was this and Chaos Dragons that I would fully build on paper (and to this day, I still have all the cards lol) Obviously, nowadays, I play Rikka as like my main deck but Gusto will never leave my life or my heart. ❤ -also, man of culture about Winda's thicc thighs-

    My first legit deck was Machina, and it was nice in the 5Ds era. Played a good amount of games with it. Recently built a Pure Machina deck (The old deck ran Cyber dragon, Cyber Valley, and the 3 gadgets along with solidarity for big hits.) Now that we have stuff like Ruinforce, the deck feels so much different to how it ran originally. I have a great deal of love for Machina and ik they aren't as competitively viable in todays meta, but they hold a special place in my heart 😊
