A lot of the gun buying that is going on can lead folks to believe that price "gouging" is going on, but what they really need to understand is that it is classic supply and demand created from the spread of fear and uncertainty.

watching gun gripes today....Barry you ARE missed
Eric looks like he wants to shoot the phone in the beginning. Lol
Barry's expressions when he hears about the ak mags priceless!!
And .22 ammo just started coming back onto the shelves again without disappearing after 20 minutes again for the first time in years.
"Supply and demand!" - yelled every price gouger, ever. Hopefully gun buyers will remember who stood where when the dust settles.

Damn it i miss Professor Barry.
2 of my favorite people in the world!! I've learned so much from you and Barry collectively. More than half of what I know about guns has came from this Channel. Thank you guys so much for everything you do. The information I've learned is worth the world to me.
Rip berry
Hillary ad before this video. Bahahaha. NOPE!
They say you die twice, first physically then when your name stops being said. Your still missed Barry and your name is definitely still being said. You will definitely out live me. RIP Barry.
I am in total agreement with you. One thing that these small shops fail to recognize also is that their patrons usually go out of their way to go to small shops and often have to pay more than we would at the big box places...but we do it to help them out. Or rather we "did" that to help them, as I will no longer feel the need to help a small business that decided to screw us over.
So if every one slows down buying firearms, the prices WILL go down.
What in the world happened to that poor green Mosin Nagant in the background. Just awful...

Watched about 6 STRAIGHT hours of your videos last night after stumbling on them on the Net. REALLY appreciate what you guys are doing and how you just say it straight with no sugar coated PC BS, that is what's needed right now, truth to power! Just wanted to let you know it's appreciated!
This program is the best!! Keep up the good work guys!!!

Remember that if we ever meet in the desert my friend, The sip of water I would have offered you is now worth $1200. Calling it business don't make it right.
Eric and Barry- Thank you for the research and explanation of the supply and demand issues.
Keep up the good work. Your series is very informative.
Barry, Eric: I have watched most of your YT videos and so has my son. We have agreed in principle to most of what you have had to say. But, I stand with outlawcajin on this one. I have lost a lot of respect with this 1 vid. Selling inventory you acquired @ pre-hysteria prices for post profit margin IS gouging. Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining!

thanks guys keep up the good work.
Thanks for reminding me about the basics and being great-full for what I do have left.
Very articulate and supported with facts. Love it.
I like you guys..., good experience, good knowledge, great common sense.
You would figure after so many videos, they would do something about the damn phone lol. You see him give the evil "Do something with that damn phone look!" all the time lol.
I love it the guys selling the guns are assuring us they're not "price gouging"!
I thought you guys took care of that phone... I love the videos keep them coming!
You guys are great!! Keep the videos going.
I picked up a S&W M&P15 for $699 a couple days before the madness began, its selling right now for $1400+. I couldn't believe my eyes! lol
You're not seeing the whole picture. My local shop is a large volume dealer. I spoke with the manager and a S&W sales rep last week there, and I will tell you flat out, the shops simply do not receive the inventory they did even 6 months ago. On average, my shop received 30-50 S&W AR-15's per month. They just received their first shipment in over 3 months, and it was only for 28 rifles. They went over 2 months without a single AR in stock from an maker, essentially losing 2 months sales.
thanks for the vids guys - America needs you
You know even though you described this in the very simplest of terms, some of these guys STILL don't understand. Well I listened and I do understand. I also sympathize with the situation we find ourselves in. It's an unstable time for gun buyers and sellers, and the law of supply and demand will make all of us choose one way or the other. But in time things will settle back to normal and we can hope and pray it's sooner than later. Keep up the great service you provide us. T.Y.
Hey guys, Are you ever going to do a review on the Beretta PX4 Storm? Have you shot one and if so what are your thoughts on it?
Some of us have been out of work for a long time. Luckily I found a great local dealer and got what was available... without being gouged.
Few days ago, I was in a gun store here in TX... idea was all ammo purchases of non-available calibers ( 223/556, 7.69x39...308, etc) you had to buy a gun to buy the ammo, and for the more available calibers (.40, 30-06, etc) it's one box per customer (3 per family)
Y'all didn't see the phone thang happening.lol keep it up boys
Thank you so much for this information! God Bless!
I posted this on my Facebook this how I feel:My grandfathers,Dad uncles and my mom taught me about gun safety as I have with my children. In my youth I learn at the YMCA camp also the Boy Scouts. If you take time to teach you will show what they can do. People need to spend time to teach you child.
amen, thanks for being honest and really keeping the bus rolling on the 2nd amend.
I'm loving that sporterized Mosion in the background!!!
Love you guys, don't ever change!
I remember when I use to sell guns we would get a shipment of .223 in and I would not bother putting it on the shelf. I would open the package it came in off the truck and set it on the counter. No exaggeration every morning there was a line of 30 people who would clear it all in 5 minutes and there were some fights... it was pretty messed up. Eventually the store put a 3 box limit and even then they were cleaning house and people were trying to buy it go outside and come back in.
Thank you for a good honest answer!
You guys are great.
answer that damn phone boy lol
Barry is a no nonsense straight-talking guy! Thanks for the video guys.
Great video!
I love that mosin you guys have back there. What kind of muzzle brake is on there? I have been trying to find one for mine thats of the threaded sort. I know there are many that can be used I just wanted your opinion on a good one if not that one and how it performs. Thanks for the videos. Read.
Just keep doing what you do chaps, your on the right track. UK is watching and fingers crossed for you all.
Great reply genius! As I've already stated: Nobody is forcing anyone to buy guns. Dealers can't count on moving a certain # of guns per week at a smaller profit margin. Once they sell what they have, they may not get any more. This means no more income on the product after it's all gone. Selling higher to customers willingly paying more because of scarcity only makes sense in the uncertain market they're we're with right now.
Great video guys..
The Phones! 🤣👏🏼
I am so sick of going into stores that sell ammunition and not being able to even buy one box of 22 LR's. It's ridiculous. Keep up the awesome videos guys.
You're right that things like the aluminum doesn't cost more but the materials cost going up or down is not the only driver of the price. Right now the supply is the same but the demand is higher. The same price adjustment would be seen if the demand is what stayed the same but if the supply was decreased. It's like when orange trees dont' produce because of drought. Demand is the same but supply is diminished so the price of a bag of oranges goes way up. We're faced with possible gun bans.
A business should NEVER apologize for the phone ringing. ;)
"if they are willing to take your guns they are not your friend" i could not agree more!
How far are y'all from Atlanta? Gonna be up here for a couple of days and was thinking about stoping by
This is why I shop at larger stores like Adventure Outdoors. They aren't cheap but comparing them to small dealers, they are much better.
keep up the videos.....you guys make a lot of sense and provide great info and a great service........and you tell it like it fucking is.......rock on!
Great Gun Gripe. Support your local gun shops folks. This isn't easy on them either. Everyone wants the prices to come down and the supply to be back up in order to satisfy everyone. More guns in the hands of people is something we can all agree is good.
There are 2 local gun stores in my town of 3500 people. Neither one of them have raised prices on their semi auto rifle more than $100 a rifle. The only reason they raised their prices that much is because, and I am quoting both the owners, "there is a small increase in price from the factories." You dont need to jack prices up, people remember when you do.
The biggest problem with the supply and demand phenomena right now is that when the supply & demand finally balances back out the prices will only go down marginally. The days of the $500 glock and $1,500 AR are over, just like gas prices the price goes sky high and then when it comes down people think theyre getting a deal even if it means a 10-20% spike from the original price.
If the store's resupply isn't effected, then raising prices should be avoided, but if the resupply is effected, then the store needs to raise its prices.
Best definition of price gouging I have seen.
We need a Barry playlist.
I've been looking for a KelTec Sub2000 for a while now. You are right...the price is insane because you can't find them anywhere.
"I think I singed my beard hairs " - Barry
Angry birds shirt with a German Cammo jacket = Doing it right.
um when 2 months ago an 80% lower was 50 bux and now its 200, i call that gouging not supply and demand.
I like the tactical mosin in the background!!
Just got two bx-25s in the mail from ruger. Ordered about 40 days ago for 30 a pop, I honestly didn't expect to get them that soon considering everything going on
lol watching this in august and spot on eric
In the UK in spring last year a government minister advised people to fill their tanks as tanker drivers might go on strike. The next day there were cues outside petrol stations; most ran out of petrol or diesel or both within a day. I needed fuel for a 220 mile journey I could only get unleaded at £1.50 per litre, it was about £1.36 the day before. The government made a lot of money that week
Your information on suppliers doing what they can is very helpful. Also, you are correct in selling nonessential items for the price to maintain your business. On the other hand, scapegoating teachers & parents isn’t going to solve anything but lead us further away from a solution. We are living in a dysfunctional society, some bad teachers, parents & gun dealers. For solutions, how about we look at the millions of tons of mind altering substances pumped into our county?
In fact , im only 32 years old... been shooting guns since i was 6-7 years old... i have never in my lifetime seen or ever heard of .22LR ammo being completely sold out at every store in a 50-100 mile radius where i live. Thats not even touching 9mm , 40 cal, 45 etc etc. One store by me had 3 skids full of .22LR 500 round boxes... within 4 hours they were picked dry. They told me that this has never happened and the business has been open since the 60's.
The problem is that businesses are worried about making as much as they can off of customers right now. Instead, wouldn't it be better for a business to treat the customer more fairly and make me come back in a year for my next gun when the supply is there. I would go back to a gun shop willing to sell me a gun for what the manufacturer tells me that gun is worth. If a business takes advantage of me during a time of great demand, I'll find somewhere else to take my money when the supply is there
You guys are raising prices because you have to, not because you want to. Great video yet again guys!
The sad part, I knew it was coming but didn't have the money to do a damn thing about it. Then, about a week before the whole rush really set it, I finally got the check for the big job I was doing (took 3 months). So, I managed an AR and 5 P-Mags, but no ammo or reloading dies. Looking for another lower though, and an upper, and, well, the stuff to build another AR.
Fully understand the concepts of supply and demand on markets. I am aware of the prices of most guns on my list and I have found that Moss has been 10-12% higher than other stores in this state.
Just a quick story I went to the store one day and had a great experience talked to Barry, he was great. When I was leaving I took the ammo to the register and Mr Moss rang me out. I had two boxes of CCI Stingers and a Box of Hornady 308 Self Defense ammo. He said that will be 13.98 and I was like "hey sir are you sure you got it right" after that he rang up the 308 ammo. I am not looking to screw anyone over so stop screwing your customers!
A lot of good points guys.
With one breath, Eric describes 30 guys fighting for one gun at a box store, then with another smirks about walking up to the cash register with an armload of 30 round magazines. And I sure they were for his own personal use and NOT for "sale to the highest bidder" or marked up exhorbitantly for sale on HIS shelf! That kind of hoarding is the problem. Greed trumps necessity more often than not. Case in point!
The smiles on their faces when they say what they are going to sell the guns for.
GOOD SHIT MAN
What you need to understand is Moss Pawn's main sellers in the firearms department are things affected by a possible ban (as they have stated in other videos). Now, when you are limited in supply to 1/10th of your normal monthly sales volume, you must raise prices to cover costs and retain normal cash flow volume. This is simple economics.
People need to realize that most manufacturers, like Barry said, are working at capacity and not reaching the DEMAND, which limits the SUPPLY, which causes an increase in prices.
CDNN raised their prices 50 percent across their entire existing inventory when this started. If they were offering an item for $1,000 it went to $1500 in an instant, this is "Price Gouging".
you guys are awesome. Because you real! no bullshit or byast!
There are plenty of local and online retailers that have NOT chosen to gouge their customers. Selling a LPK for 200$ is gouging. Selling P-Mags for 50$ each is gouging. Selling a forged lower for 300$ when you can billet for 275$ all day is gouging. There is nothing illegal about gouging...but we the customer will take notice, and choose to not frequent establishments that chose to gouge.
(...continued) the high prices make it hard on an individual basis, but over all allows a more even distribution of necessary goods to all needy parties while creating a powerful incentive for suppliers to deliver relief sooner than they might otherwise be motivated to do so. In the end, more people are helped sooner and with more goods by the high prices than are harmed by them. This is the power of the free market. (sorry for dragging this across 3 posts, I hate the reply character limit.)
You guys have it right!
I believe that you guys bring up a valid point
Nice Flecktarn, Eric! ...Makes me wish I was back in Germany. So many good times...
