Thought that I checked out the channels Mr. Beast shouted out, never thought I’d come across anything related to Jacob Collier haha, keep up the good work!

The vocal group is Take 6. Grammy winners etc etc...One of the most world leading vocal groups. The conductor of the orchestra is working with Quincy Jonos, who is also appearing in the video. You also will recognize Steve Vai in a short appearance. Lots of stuff going on here. Jacob is also directing and edits his videos for the most part himself also. Some people are just annoyingly gifted...

The conductor is Jules Buckley, and the orchestra is the Metropole Orkest. They have collaborated with a ton of artists including Snarky Puppy (Sylva, amazing album), Cory Wong, Cory Henry and many more.

Oh I forgot. If you want a short but sweet vocal miracle check out Jacob's version of the theme song to the "Flintstones"-yeah that "Flintstones". It's one of his earliest videos-I think he was 18 or 19. It's totally acapella and he won a Grammy for it. He blew a lot of peoples minds with that one-who was this kid?

Take 6 as others have mentioned did the back-ups here but for the record Jacob credits them as one of his inspirations. I first came across your page with your Dirty Loops reaction (you earned my subscription with that one) as I can only subscribe once I can only say that if I could I'd subscribe again with this reaction I would. Really great, heartfelt and intelligent with no ridiculous histrionics. Thanks for that. I would recommend "MOON RIVER", "SLEEPING ON MY DREAMS" or if you feel like going seasonal Jacob has just put his own unique take on the Christmas classic "The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire)" it too is very, very vocal heavy and for someone like me who doesn't even like Christmas music somewhat of a revelation. Very nice work on your part and I'm really looking forward to some more Jacob reactions, Thank You.

The background singers are Take 6, Quincy Jones calls them "the baddest vocal cats on the planet". 10-time Grammy award winners. 10 Dove Awards A few NAACP Awards. They hold the record for being the most nominated group in Grammy award history. They've been active from 1980 to present. The member of the group with the white beard and the hat who sings the high note is Claude McKnight, the eldest brother of Brian McKnight and the dude singing bass is Alvin Chea. They've done many collaborations with such artistes as: Kenny Rogers Randy Travis Johnny Matthis Ray Charles Ella Fitzgerald Brian McKnight Stevie Wonder And a whole lot of others. Look them up and check out their music, you won't be sorry.

I knew it was only a matter of time before you ended up with some Jacob Collier vids, so crazy to watch. Some really fun vids are Jacob's harmonize anything compilations, where he takes melodies submitted from people and sprinkles his magic on them. I swear to God these deep vocals... I re-listened on my phone and they just get lost but through my headphones they were practically playing in my head. RIDICULOUS! Great vocal harmonies always get me

Those guys are Take 6, an acapella group that was wildly popular in the ‘90s.

He was 18 when he wrote this arrangement. He did all of the arrangements + the video in 6 hours. Yes, he's a world class video producer. The 6 backing singers are Take Six. Did you see Quincy Jones sitting in a chair ( Rather Dark Footage ) The whole writing & video production took around 6 hours. Did you notice his bass player in the dancing sequence. He drops out rather quick. Obviously a great bass player, but lousy dancer. He drove Jacob into London for the shoot. So he gets a go at dancing. He is also seen at the end of the video, in the field miming the backing vocal. 3rd. in, he goes out of time, Jacob just smiles, he's obviously hearing the voice in real time. A friend of Jacob is piloting a camera drone. Very, Very Talented. World Class. He's now 28 years of age. So this footage is 10 years old. Check out His " Moon River ". All his vocals. He's only 17 when he released this arrangement. It's on another planet. Another Grammy. ( the 2nd. ) Also check out his own compositions. 2 early ones are " Don't You Know " 3 versions. His own with him singing and playing everything in his music room in North London, 2nd. With Snarky Puppy, 3rd. With the Metropole Orchestral at North Sea Jazz Festival. The other early song is the ballad " Hideaway " Best version is with the Metropole Orchestra. Now 10 years into the professional world, check out his latest concerts. Rome, Amazing , Stockholm Again, Amazing. He's moved on to a whole bunch of new material. The man is a near genius & he seems to work fast.

Very nice reaction! Probably my favorite Jacob video to demonstrate his diversity in terms of performance, arranging, mixing, editing, collaboration, etc., etc. Lot's of details in their for music theory nerds, but never loses its groove despite the subtlety/complexity mash-up. Jacob's #playathome "Running Outta Love" with Tori Kelly is pretty stanky. Regarding Prog Metal, maybe anything from Plini? I've always enjoyed his playthrough vid for "Every Piece Matters". Or just throw in the towel and do some Steel Panther :) Look forward to more vids!

Although Moonriver is a great Jacob Collier acapella cover, I think his newer songs like Time Alone with You or Sleeping on My Dreams would be great. In Too Deep is amazing too. For older but CRAZY songs I'd recommend With The Love In My Heart and then if you're feeling like you can handle even crazier, Everlasting Motion.

Never mind the videos, react to his Moon River Logic session breakdown (or any other breakdown). He pulls out all the innards of the process for hours and your brain goes ding ding ding with "aha". Everything makes flawless sense and you close the browser, go elsewhere and you're back to your ordinary self. lol Jacob is what happens when you find a platform 9 3/4 and get on the musical train, like the notes and scales that shouldn't exist that he plays. With him as your tourist guide in wonderland, your job is to marvel.
