Making around 70 great covers of real songs including all instruments and diferents voices is a very big achivement. You guys did a great job with that game.

Man I couldn't play guitars like now without these guys... Big kudos to them.

2:22 Literally the only reason i SEARCHED for this video. My favorite song on that game. And it took me 15 years to realize that I only love it so much because the cover singer's voice is literally amazing. I love this version even more than the original. It's what made me fall in love with this song and ultimately rock and metal over the years. And this is coming from a complete 90s Hip-Hop head.

He did an amazing job with the Sting impression. Fun fact: the WaveGroup singer also did the vocals for War Pigs.

I just love how much fun they had making this game and how dedicated they were to making their covers sound as close to the original as possible. This is why my childhood was awesome. Thank you guys. ❤

Right?? If it weren't for guitar hero 2, I would never have become so obsessed with guitars. This game made my childhood and I have so much appreciation for the game. I'm into my twenties now and have fulfilled my childhood dreams of playing on stage and stuff over the years and it feels unbelievable really. I love this game so much.

Some songs were originals, but most were covers (at least in later games). It wasn't until Guitar Hero III: Legends Of Rock where there were original songs rather than the whole soundtrack being covers. With the original Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II, the entire playlist are covers.

I still remember this video since I was so a little :3 miss these guys....wish back then was forever...

Their cover of "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'?" is just on point compared to the Stones' version.

If I can play Malmsteen on real guitar today it's because of these guys. I didn't even know what rock was until I played Guitar Hero II in a friends house. I felt amazing. Their work is awesome. Most cases I still prefer these GH covers to the master records. The guitar lines in Mother, Message In A Bottle, Woman, Free Bird, Hangar 18, etc are perfect.

I’ve seen many people get mad at the fact that the gh1 and 2 setlists we’re covers. That’s the point of the game, you play as a guitarist in a cover band. They made the covers because it’s more genuine for a cover band in a game to play actual song covers.

To be fair, Warriors of Rock is a really great game. You can tell they put a lot of work into it by the presentation alone. They got 2112 by Rush and an original track written by Megadeth specifically for that game, for goodness sake!

Honestly, Warriors of Rock has the best song list (after GHIII), good graphics, a fun and interesting story mode, etc

These guys and GH2 introduced me to so much music back then that shaped who I am today, and I didn’t even know these were covers!

Maybe it's just because I'm never too crazy about Aerosmith, but I love their cover of Last Child so much more.

miss when guitar hero i and ii had covers. I love the originals, but i loved hearing all the covers and how accurate they were able to get them

these guys put so much work into this and for this is the reason why i love all sorts of music really opened up my mind when i was a kid i am eternally grateful for this

My Chemical Romance’s Dead! is one of the few originals used. Same with Toadies’s Possum Kingdom.

I was in 9th grade and I was 14 years old but I watched it on the Xbox 360 around April of 2007 because that's when GH2 came out for the Xbox 360 so yeah I never played the PS2 version at all until the PCSX2.

Kind of hilarious that they had to replicate a Foo Fighters song considering how many of them ended up in the Rock Band catalogue. Still amazed by these incredible musicians recreating all this prior to the masters becoming available, fucking awesome times.

tunico191 I would rather have either a GCB95 (which I do) or especially the JC95 which I really want. I used to own a DigiTech wah pedal (forget which) and the button was in the heel which was annoying and I thought it sounded like shit.

i love how the camera guy when he's trying to get a nice shot of a guitar and hits the stand so another one falls over. i think that's hilarious.

@TUSMROX This was the standard practice for music games in the industry - everything from Donkey Konga to Karaoke Revolution used covers, and many of them were by WaveGroup. Nobody thought the Guitar Hero games would take off like they did, and that it would be beneficial (or profitable) to license master recordings. I think somebody at some record label realised what a marketing boost the GH games were giving their artists... :)
