Nikita is a breath of fresh air. What a gentle, well spoken, and considerate human. I liked how he matched everyone's energies to make them feel safe, like when he saw how visibly distressed the girl with tryphophobia was and protectively covered up the object.

To me, typophobia isn’t as “weird” as others may think it is. It makes complete sense to me why people would have this phobia. Clusters of small things resemble rashes/disease, eggs of dangerous insects that could cause said rashes and diseases, and they also resemble the aposematic signals (AKA danger signals animals have on their skins/exoskeletons to warn others that they are venomous.) I personally don’t have trypophobia, but I totally get why certain humans are hardwired to react with aversion to this danger signal.

TRIGGER WARNING!!!! TRYPOPHOBIA, PHOBIA OF INSECTS, DEATH DESCRIPTION WITH VIVID DETAILS TRIGGER WARNING!!!! yes, I realized mine is associated to another phobia I have of worms, infestations etc, and of being dead, getting rotten, the post-death experience. So it all adds up. It's way deeper than people can imagine. When I see some hole patterns, it gives me the idea of my own body dead being eaten by insects is gore horror stuff. Absolutely terrifying. Even worse if you imagine being eaten alive.

I have really bad Ornithophobia (Fear of birds), it’s been a part of my life since I was very young My uncle thought it was hilarious and would chase me around with a chicken talon. I would cry my eyes out in the pantry until he went away…and now my family wonders why I have anxiety-
The poor girl who was afraid of the smell of newspapers, her story of her parents honestly broke me. It's not the fact her parents punished her, it's the fact they used their own child's specific phobia to threaten and use against her. It's how phobias start or grow more intense as we age. I have a similar story with bridges or going over large bodies of water, my dad would violently shake the car or drive without caution when going over them as a way of getting back at me or just as a joke. I think my point is, it's okay to punish bad behavior but using something that's special and obviously shouldn't be used willinging around a child shouldn't be a considered punishment.

@@carmenaphotography exactly. obviously a phobia is a phobia, but some people have them more severe than others. for example i have thalassaphobia which i’ve tried to control now but a few years ago it was so bad i couldn’t take baths, struggled to sleep because of visions and random panicking and it was just EMBARRASSING but nonetheless, you’re correct
@stickynotes2040

@@carmenaphotography Just because someone has a phobia that isn’t debilitating doesn’t mean it isn’t real. Certain people are also better at hiding their anxieties - so even if someone doesn’t look like their terrified of something doesn’t mean the fear isn’t there.
The girls story about her dad putting a blanket over her head and hugging her made me physically uncomfortable. I would hate that. It brought out memories of my siblings tickling me until I couldn’t breathe and I was sobbing. My muscles would freeze up and I couldn’t move to get away. Your body’s natural response is to laugh even if you hate it and you were also crying. They’d say “but you’re laughing!” They would tickle me so bad I would throw up. I’m super sensitive to it now. Like if I’m sitting with my boyfriend and he puts his hand on my thigh he can’t be caressing me with it. I don’t like seeing other people get tickled either. When I see a parent tickle their toddler it makes me tense up and hold my breath just hoping they’ll stop before they traumatize the kid.

Dear Andrea, I fully understand your phobia. I suffer (or just live, I don‘t how i should say it the right way) also from a ‚silly‘ phobia. It‘s called ligyrophobia which means, anything which makes a very loud noise makes me crazy. Means, fireworks, balloons and even champagne-flasks are freaking me out. I‘m really sick of explaining it to new people. They never would understand my fear. But I understand that beeing scared of balloons or anything like that is ridiculous. What I want to say is, i totally understand you. My kind of phobia is really bad and it‘s not funny. I have panic attacts and all that stuff. Hey y’all. My name is Felicia, the girl in the orange windbreaker. Appreciate the feedback of the video and my phobia of dolls aka pediophobia. It is completely a real thing for those that don’t believe so. Many have a fear, I have a phobia. There was a lot cut out of this video that explained why I have my phobia. Personal real life experiences, abuse, horror films, tormenting, etc. I have never liked them. No, I am not a tom boy. Yes, I do have a lot of guy friends. But, all that is stereotypical. The point really was to face our phobias and some of us did that. I could not. It might of been a $200 American Girl Doll, but with this phobia, I don’t give a da*n. For the people that were able to face their phobias on this line up, good for them, I can’t help my phobia. That’s why it’s a phobia. They are creepy, life-like and come off as alive to me. Again, thanks for your feedback and let’s try to be a little bit understanding for the line up that was able to do this. It was fun, but we also had to do it 3 times. At this point, my heart was racing, my armpits and palms were sweaty and I had to pee, which you can see myself moving a bit to try and hold it. I personally have trypophobia and I would like to say that one time I told my classmates at my table about it so they would know and be cautious with searching it up. ( we had a project on phobias and they were especially bringing light to trypophobia ) Unfortunately a girl at my table thought it was funny and drew small holes on her hand with marker. She finished and showed it to me and I started crying in the middle of class and then she said things that really hurt my feelings like, “ it doesn’t even look real”, and “you’re just crying for attention”. I would just like to say, if you have a phobia, it’s ok. You are not weird, we all have fears.

True. I have a sort of trypophobia where when I see BUMPS, it instills a deep seated anger in my bones. It makes me just wanna scrape or smash whatever the bumps are on. (I don't like holes too much either tho)
I have mild trypophobia, and I agree with Andrea, the best way to describe it is my skin crawls and my knees feel weak. There's no good reason for it in my mind but from what I've researched it may be a biological fear rooted in the association between clusters of holes and dangerous animals and/or insects

So I have something similar to trypophobia. It's not so much holes that bother me as much much as it is looking at organic/growth-like repeating patterns (especially anything that resembles material under a microscope) and looking at fungi/mushrooms. My back crawls with an itch that spreads through my body, and my arms get goosebumps. My fingers want to curl up. I've been like this every since I was a kid. I never opened my biology textbook because of this.

Just seeing clusters of holes makes me wanna rip my skin off, especially the skin on my hands, and it does effect me in my day to day life as well.
