Third, China has already become indisputably the No. 1 supplier of carbon neutrality equipment and goods, such as photovoltaic panels and power batteries. This is not only making China much, much cleaner but also contributing to the carbon reduction efforts of the whole world.

where you took the video today, Shamian( sandy bar ). this is where all the foreign corp. had their HQ back around 1920s and also the HQ of the China Customs Guangzhou branch, where my grandpa( mothers side ) worked as a high ranking officer amd also the local tennis champion, before he moved to Hongkong with his family and where I was born, I currently live in Guangzhou since I am retired.

After the Opium war, Shamian island became a concession and a settlement for European/American opium traders. Inside the island, there's an Indian soldier barrack since the British brought the Indians in from their colony to keep the local Chinese out. Outside of the only bridge access to the island, right by the bank to the river, there is a small monument to the student demonstraters who were shot and killed by soldiers guiding the settlement. Other than that, most monuments and sculptures in and around the island commemorate the trading relationship and cultural exchange between China and the West.

But not everyone likes to bargain. As long as you don’t mind paying a bit more it doesn’t matter. Love you guys. You’re still my favourite travel vloggers. Very authentic, easygoing and kind. The final place is a Lanzhou (Gansu Province) beef noodle restaurant. I have traveled all over China and Japan and still my most memorable bowl of noodles was in Lanzhou many years ago at a simple street stall.

Lanzhou ramen is the real genuine authentic ramen, the ramens in Japan are all fake, because ramen is made by hand pulling to make the noodle, but the fake ramens in Japan are made by machines. Lanzhou beef ramen is best beef noodle there is.

Original Lanzhou ramen is a true authentic ramen; all ramens in Japan are not, since ramen is prepared by hand pulling the noodle, but "ramens" in Japan are made by machines, the sellers of ramen in Japan should stop using the name "ramen" (hand-pulled noodle) because it's misrepresentation. Lanzhou beef ramen is the greatest beef noodle there is, but this chain-type restaurant may not have authentic ramen.

This term 拉麵 (ramen) can only mean one thing, noodle made by hand pulling, but Japanese restaurants are using this term to sell noodle that is not made by hand pulling but made by machines. No Chinese noodle restaurant in China dares to use this term 拉麵 to sell noodle that is not made by hand pulling, because everyone in China knows what's 拉麵 (ramen).

👍I do appreciate your views that it mainly depends on your budget not always cheap poor quality. Low price, low quality, high price, good quality. Fair enough, right? Same as everywhere in the world. Only because China can produce stuff within a lower price, it doesn’t mean that we only produce poor ones. China just offer options for relatively lower income people a chance to have a better life. It’s the dragon boat festival and that’s why there are many more people on the street compared to normal days. Mostly of these people are tourists from other Chinese cities. Just came back from my grand father’s village in Shunde, Foshan and everywhere were packed with people.

20 mins in and I thought taz would break the budget before libby would get her shoes 😅 if you guys were in china the first week of may, that would explain the crowds - national holiday the main reason why china had a bad rep in terms of quality in the past was because the importers(like walmart as an example) demanded low prices. I worked with an importer way back then and we would pressure the manufacturer for lower prices. we got our prices but ended up with thinner fabric and smaller sizes 🤣. the big brands have merchandisers so anything that doesn't make quality control gets rejected and end up at some of these markets. it depends, some are just fakes but some are the real deal. manufacturers often make 5% or more than the quantity ordered just in case some get rejected by quality control.

Guangzhou is kind of opposite of ChenDu, much busier, more western elements. But I have not shopped in physical store for a while. But it is right to buy shoes and T_Shirt at GuangZhou. Yet another great video! Looking forward to your next one!

In China about clothes , we normal people have such opinion. In summer it’s so hot. We need to change sweaters everyday. So we like to buy too many cheap sweaters that can be wear one two years, each cost 100 to 200 yuan. However in winter, we need high quality clothes to keep warm. So we would like to buy at least 500 600 yuan, even several ten hundreds yuan clothes. Just like what Taz said, we can get different cost and different quality clothes based on our own wants.

In fact, price go higher with good quality. I used buy some high quality T-SHIRTS in factory with 80. They are different with those low price one. Many factory make goods for band so they are not something you see fake. You may pay more 20yuan for each. But consider the rent. It's a profit reasonable. 🥰

Actually those “big brands” appeared in your footage are fake. As a matter of fact local people no longer fascinate fake big brands, local brands (or simply no brand)with good quality of fabrics and designs prevail.
