Gregory from POLAND here. I bought GAMING X TRIO for a 850 euro after tax. It's a whopping 1000 dollars in Europe. I had doubts after i left the store, believe me. But I've never had such powerful and well build piece of PC part in my life. Magnificent. If you have the mnoney buy it. Playing games on this thing is like travel to another dimension :)

Thanks to one of ur older videos, I bought a Evga gtx 1060 sc 3gb and I am excited to play on it around Tuesday.

I've been working overtime lately framing and busting ass to get myself a 1080 ti. I've been following this channel for a while now. And I watch most videos multiple times. So I know exactly what I should get. Though I've been in the pc gaming community for a good 7 years now, your videos and your opinions have great valid points and help made my decision. I was leaning towards this or the aorus non extreme edition. I have an am4 x370 aorus motherboard. Just ordered the msi gaming x trio today. I hope it works smoothly with my Ryzen system. Replacing with a 1060 that I replaced for a 970 that blew up. Thanks for the hard work in all these vids. They make it worth rewatching.

i bought 4 dukes for GPU renderings, and stacking 4 of those and after removing the backplates, and also attaching a noctua fan to the sides of those gpu stack, made the temperature stable at 69-70 degrees at max load when rendering

Only if i was patient enough to wait it out 1-2 months more i could gather together a pc with such a gpu included but i’m so at the edge of my seat for a new rig that i’ll end up getting an rx580 coupled with a FS monitor or something. Great video though

I must say that the Gaming X TWIN FROZR VI really impressed me and made me wonder if MSI is the current king for both cooling performance and noice levels.. Granted my 1080 is missing that Ti addition but still.

I am glad they let you keep the DUKE card. Would you consider doing an "all black" Non RGB build with the Obsidian 750D? EVGA has a nice non RGB motherboard and Trident Z black with white kit would be sharp as well. A lot of people were disappointed when LTT painted RGB parts instead of building an epic ebony machine. You could be the first to be the blackest.

Love your videos, always extremely informative, however I believe you might be getting a bit strung up on the Ghost Recon Wildlands for your benches... its great n all and we know you like it alot, but its not up there on game optimization side and theres alot of other demanding options you can use to bench.

I was thinking about getting a Duke, but after watching this video I changed my mind. I'm gona get the Trio, because I didn't know it existed before this and now I think I'm willing to pay the extra money for it. It looks amazing.

2019 Here and just bought a Duke 1080Ti, lol... wish I had a trio for the RGB, but this one is going in my budget B250/7600k/16gb rig.

Great video, a lot of helpful info. The only question i got is: does it matter what build im putting any 1080 ti in - amd ryzen or intel? In terms of competabitity. Putting together an Ryzen 7, crosshair here 6, flare x and maybe aourus 1080 ti. Actually all based on your videos. Tnx in advance

I have the regular MSI 1080Ti Gaming X (the dual fan in the middle) and I'm happy with it. The core and boost speeds of both the GPU and memory are identical to the Trio and the cooler is just as effective, but the regular Gaming X will be easier to work with in the future should I choose to do a case transplant, and it shouldn't sag as much as the Trio. Plus, $30 is still $30. You can buy games instead of getting a card that runs maybe 1-2C cooler or 1-2dB quieter.

Hey thanks for doing these amazing reviews :) , I have a quick question 4 you, so i bought msi 1080ti gaming trio, but it has coil whine noise whenever i run benches that is clearly audible even if it is enclosed in my mid tower case. Is this normal and expected? What do you recommend to do? I got it from Frys and i hear their return policy is bad, should i rma through MSI?

Hands down, you go to the top of my favourite reviewers. The way you explain things are absolutely perfect and it is so easy to understand, no matter what topic. So you just got another subscriber. I was gonna get the 1080 strix TI for around 1147 dollars (That's the lowest price on that card here in Norway). But then I saw this review, and to be honest I haven't actually seen the MSI card before that. I instantly turned and looked up the price. So now I'm getting the '' MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X Trio 11GB '' instead of the Strix, and it's actually just 13$ more. By the way. I do see that there is ''another'' version of this card, that's called '' MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Gaming Trio 11GB ''. And as you can tell there is no X on it. But I can't seem to find out the difference on them. If you know, and could explain, I would really appreciate it.

Nearly 5 years later on - and my 1080ti is still an awesome card. One of the best tech purchases I've ever made.

I have bought a 1080ti STRIX and would recommend, just thought I would put that out there, but I am considering buying a STOCK 1080TI blower style graphics card just to compare the thermal issues, do you have a true comparison test between the two styles as I wish to SERIOUSLY compare this myself as I personally have met thermal issues. I realize this could or indeed is a case airflow issue but could you compare your PERFECT CASE(looking at an h500p mesh)/PERFECT 1080ti setup as I don`t have the money to experiment but I would appreciate your expertise. i like this card... but can you do a video with this card installed in a case, i was researching and found that this card is very heavy, i wanna see how much gpu sag or how much it'll bend in horizontal position in the case, i didn't buy it due to the OC3D TV 's video because in his video the card is bending too much in horizontal position in case and even it's supplied bracket by msi didn't do well.... thanks for for your detailed video, i really liked it... and also i am holding my buying decision of this card until your video or answer.....

Hi ! I'd just like to point out that you were testing the card in an open environment. Did you check in a case because in that case, the card will suck in a slightly warmer air and hence it will not be so cool resulting to its fans spinning at a more higher rate. Thus it won't be so quiet after all. I prefer the Gigabyte Aorous Extreme because it has the highest GPU clock frequency. P.S. You are a born seller ! Your presentation is spot on. You can probably sell air and people will buy it 😂

Dear Tech Deals, I am not from USA and i would like to buy a GTX 1080 Ti however the only card i can afford is a ZOTAC GTX 1080 Ti AMP! Edition (The one with 2 Fans). Its the cheapest GTX 1080 Ti i can find. Should i go ahead and buy it ? am worried about the temps on the card. Please do suggest. Sadly new egg rarely has this card in stock and on Amazon its minimum 1200$, I'd definitely get the trio if budget wasn't an issue but the dual fan is only 740$ on newegg, still a good review video though.

Whats wrong with Micro ATX cases? I moved from a full tower to a Silverstone TJ08 micro ATX and the thermals are still excellent! so I have to disagree with your comment. Oh and I am looking at putting the MSA gaming x trio in it lol

The best top tier card will always be a hybrid model. Least noise, best thermals, great fit in most cases (beter than many bulky air coolers. Im honestly surprised when people suggest anyone spending a lot on their pc go for anything else. My next card will certainly be one.

Hi, I'm using 980 Ti in Define R5 now, recently upgraded to 3440x1440 100Hz G-Sync monitor, so my current card gets noisy and can't really keep up above 60fps all the time; I wonder if this MSI Trio card would be relevant choice nowadays (used can be found for half price than 2080 Super, offering about same performance) BUT it would also mean removal of drive cage in my case; or should I rather seek for Strix version instead? thx in advance

i play at 1440p 165hz and this card can keep up at 144+ fps on most titles i play. I would go for the 2080 super for better optimization, but ofcourse this is far better value
