My one fan GTX 1050 ti doesn't even have the power connector. The reason you have one is to power the fans sicne you have two. Mine only has one.

you dont NEED the connector.... but you WILL need it if you decide to overclock to anything remotely noticeable the video card as that takes the power requirements up and over the PCIe supplied limit.

Sorry to bother you, I'm currently building my PC and I've run into the problem of not knowing what to do for PCIe cable for the card. I have a 750w power supply, and it came with PCle cables of different slots but not the one that I apparently need, which is 16 slot.

Great video 👍 Yeah it won't exceed 65 Watt when full load. I remove the stock fan and use an old dell fan to keep the gpu and 1 nvme under it cool at once 😂

Hi so I have a 1050 pulled from another computer (prebuilt) and I was wondering if there is any way I can boot without the motherboard telling me to plug in 4-pin power when there are no 4-pin slots and the gpu does not have any slots for power either.

Thanks for the clarification , I have a gt 1030 and wanted to change so I could get a small boost , but meh , the prices for 1050ti right now are absolutely discusting for the ammount of extra fps I am going to get , I am going to wait , I don't want to spend even more money on a new power supply since where I live they are expensive too.

Try it without the 6 pin first and see if it works. If it doesn’t wotk then hook up the 6 pin. And a 500w psu is plenty.

Give it a shot with your current PSU. It might work. If there is any issue then yes replace the PSU with a 400w or maybe even a 500w.

I'm glad I found this video-this gave me some more info for what I'm looking for. I'd love to wire some power from the PSU but I can't find anywhere to connect it to on the GTX 1050ti I just purchased from Amazon D: I wonder if this is an updated model but I don't see any 6 pin connectors on this piece of hardware. I'll go ahead and see if it even needs it but my motherboard is pretty outdated so not ideal, unfortunately; any advice for a total novice?

I found a forum post (thank god) regarding this exact issue with my motherboard (the msi a78m-e35) and turns out MSI sent out a batch of these boards with a jumper in the wrong place for the "jusb-pw2" portion of the board. Moved it over a singular pin and it works like a charm now 🙃 thanks for the help! 😅🤣

It should. The gtx 1050 is not very big. The board should be able to power the card.

Yes 250 watts is indeed low than the reecommendation, but theere have been a few occrurences where it has worked for people right? specially because my full PC takes up around 130w and i have 115 watts left.. Sorry if I said 250w but Nvidia recommends a 300w psu to power the GPU and the other computer components. You can try the 250w PSU but it's not a guarantee that it will work. Thanks for watching and keep me posted.

The 1050 ti I just bought does not even have a PCIE power connector. Bit of confusion, but yeah setup is extremely easy! Thanks for the clarification.

I'm not sure about that mobo. You need to visit the asus website to find the compatible cpus. And if it's compatible you should be all good. The only thing you may have to do is update the BIOS for the mobo. Thanks for watching and keep me posted.

If the hp is a mid Size case it should fit. 200 watt psu may not be enough. I would recommend a 350 watt psu.

When I installed without the cable when I turn on the pc it says I must hook up the pci cord to the card on a black screen. I have a 500w power unit. Any ideas what I can do?

The specs say a minimum of 300w psu is needed however I have heard of a 250w psu working fine. It just depends on your other components and how much power they need.

I purchased one of these graphics cards from ebay. Came in today though the package did not include a power connector for the video card. When i turned my pc on, i got the message telling me to connect the power connector.. bummer. Now i have to order a power connector for this card. So.. this video isnt 100 percent true for all PC's. There are always exceptions however I have never ran into the power issue with the 1050. Your PSU does not have the PIN connectors? The 1050 does not come with PSU connectors.

@@UltimateTechHub Hi and thank you for replying. Actually, no, the power supply in my PC does not have the necessary 6 pin connector for this video card. Had to install back the old video card, so going to have to order a power connector for it unfortunately. After watching this video, found another video talking about how there are a lot of fake GTX 1050ti cards being sold on ebay. Has me wondering if my card is a fake now.. argh.. but thanks for your reply.

The newer models probably don't have one. The 1050ti doesn't require a power supply. Just install it into the motherboard and your to go. Thanks for watching!!

No. Just make sure its 300w minimum I would probably get a 600w just for future upgrades.

How about if the 1050 ti is 85w?

well dont attempt to install it when your psu is below 300w

@@tiredbtw7121 No. Upgrading your PSU to a higher number like 450w or 600w only adds more power. This is good especially for future upgrades like GPUs or other components. It sounds like you have a good setup. Thanks for watching!

if you have a 600 watt PSU then that should be enough power the entire PC and like this video points out you don't need to use the PSU for the 1050. Let the motherboard do all the work. Thanks for watching and if you subscribed thank you as well.

I have a old Hp pc good specs I have a gtx 1050 ti Installed with 180w and it seems to work fine lol I think it Only exceeds The limits when overlocking but just dont overclock this is to all the people having this problem Your gtx 1050 ti and ecen gtx 1650 low profile will work With 180w Just dont Make sure u overclock
