André was supposed to kill Niko at the dumpster under Dimitri's orders but he thought "Hmm I can't kill him yet or else my Superior named Dimitri gets angry" Dimitri ends up being pissed by his actions anyway and calls Faustin to deal with it (but that is only because Dimitri wants to gaslight Faustin and make him look worse in front of Niko)

@DIABLO258 Actually Dimitri knows. Hence Faustin saying "You would've been dead if it wasn't for me. That is what Dimitri wanted when you killed Vlad." This hints to the fact that Andre takes orders from Dimitri regarding his attempted hit on Niko, not Faustin. Faustin never wanted to kill Niko over Vlad's disappearance Dimitri is not some generic gangster person who doesn't do background checks on his enemies, he is the Underboss of a mafia, a head of security.

FBI Alypstick Niko asked Faustin and Dimitri to untie Roman and they complied. Why would Roman be worried anymore when the situation was clearly de-escalated, Roman kept screaming for no reason and no one would hear his cries for help anyway so it’s his fault he got shot.

Its quick but the way Niko says "I'm tied up in a basement a long way from home" really strikes me as intense. It's obvious he has next to no interest in living in America and would much rather be back home in Serbia. Niko is really the most realistic and relate-able character the GTA series has made.

Canonically, Niko chose Revenge over Deal, to settle his score with Dimitri by killing him aboard the Platypus, and as a consequence, Pegorino finally lost his S-H-I-T and is furious with Niko betraying him and tried to gun him down in a drive-by, but rifled Katherine McReary, Patrick's baby sister, instead of Niko. Then as a result, Niko, Lil' Jake, and Roman go after the Peg and take him down for killing Kate. Luis then kills off Bulgarin after the latter stole the heroin shipments. Bulgarin was after the Herorin, and Niko, Luis, & Tony's bloods.

Different is Niko has been through a lot (his father was an abusive alcoholic & he lost his childhood friends during the war due to betrayal) so he could care less if he live or die. CJ was only begging for his life because he was trying to get his brother Sweet out of jail and he knew that would be impossible if he was dead not to mention the fact that he had to protect his sister Kendi (I don’t know if I spell her name right) from bad guys after they put a bounty on her head.

I love the cutscene in this mission, the witty Tarantino-inspired dialogue, the comedic setting in what should be a terrifying situation (being locked up in a basement), the way it seems as if characters have common sense and then turns out they're equally insane, and Andrei's execution and "Roman, shut up!" is literally the scene from Pulp Fiction's diner. GTA IV is kino.

The big bad Mikhail Faustin introduces himself with a noise complaint from his wife lmao. Also I love how at 1:44 Niko immediately turns around when Roman gasps, he doesn't go. "What's wrong cousin?" He knows that if someone you trust gasps at something behind you like that, it's nothing good.

Has anyone noticed how they keep bringing up cabbages in the beginning of the game? Examples: Cousin Bellic (Intro), Uncle Vlad, Crime and Punishment (this one).

rockstar habit of making things too linear was a huge mistake in GTA 4 with the kill or save option not be utilized as much especially during sections of the game like killing Faustin

I'm reading Crime and Punishment for the first time and I was replaying this game this week and finally got the reference after 14 years. It makes me think that's where they got the ideas for the names Dimitri Rascolov and Kenny Petrovic. Theres a character with the name Porfiry Petrovic in the book and the main characters last name is Raskolnikov.

1:59 the whole interrogation is so funny! 2:41 is even funnier... "You're dad likes it up the ass" hahaha. Niko is such a badass character.

Basement cutscene = one of the funniest, intense and most well done parts of the game. Laughs all the time by Niko insulting Liberty City's biggest cartel.

I've played through this game countless times but watching this series all over again is still entertaining. LONG LIVE GTA.

I like that Dimitri is the only character who wears a tie that has physics to it.

Not at all, Dimitri was more annoyed that it was done in Faustin's basement instead of an isolated location which he is where perfers to do his acts. Dimitri was calling out Andrei for bringing Niko and Roman to a bad location rather than somewhere more hidden and isolated.

3:30 you can hear Karel’s czech accent in there, i love it :D

Niko got so mad because of his cousin being shot, you can hear him just breath in anger, he was so pissed ❤

Dimitri s future betrayal can be noticed when Niko asks him how many vans are in South Broker and he answers that is a problem for you and your cousin , not me

This cutscene is so well written that althrough this is a kidnapping and torture scene, is very funny
