I imagine it was tough to hear about Toriyama's death in the middle of the podcast. Big props to you guys for carrying on. Also Aggro having Homestuck knowledge floored me. mcdonalds

Damn, what a painful week for creatives everywhere. Sure, RoosterTeeth was a shambling husk of what it was, but they were still one of the earliest examples of how the internet could be used to create an entertainment giant. I don’t think anyone wanted it to just be decapitated like that. And Toriyama had a hand in so much beyond just Dragon Ball throughout his life. Losing a pillar of Japan’s entertainment history like him is like losing Shigeru Miyamoto or Hayao Miyazaki.

Rest in Peace, the Legend who influenced so many anime/manga/games/etc. It's hard to imagine a lot of the things I love without him or his influence.

This is how I learned Toriyama passed away. He was truly prolific in a way that’s hard to grasp. I hope he can live on in his influence forever.

Personally I think Leviathan is more important to include than Ramuh because Leviathan is worshipped in Wutai so it has pretty direct lore relevance to a party member (obviously being Yuffie) though idk if remake intends on doing anything with the fact (only on chapter like, 7 personally)

In a hat in time on pc at least, there’s a option to turn off the weird up camera thing when looking down for a NORMAL CAMERA which is making my replay a lot smoother

Just as a little tip, if you boot up Intermission with Yuffie and make a single save even at the beginning you get Ramuh. So it's easy enough to get that summon. To my knowledge you do not get him in Rebirth without the save check.

Rest in peace, Akira Toriyama. You made Dragon Ball (and other things like Dr. Slump), helped make Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger what they are, and even brought Sand Land back to life. There's countless lives you've touched, and you will be remembered well for it. Also RIP to Rooster Teeth (amd Monty Oum, as ever). I was big into Red vs. Blue back in the day, and stuck with the Let's Play channel through thick and thin. Overall, it had a dang good run for an online entertainment group, and I'm probably gonna' revisit its stuff from time to time. Best wishes to the employees in finding work and contentment. And thank you to the Big Think crew for covering all of this! What a week! What a couple of days, even!

Pluto TV is almost exactly what you guys want for live television and discoverability. Problem is is that they don't put new content on it.

31:40 I don't know if this setting is on console but on PC there is an option under Settings > Game Settings > Camera called "Top-Down Camera" and this is the setting that makes the camera move weirdly- turning it off lets you move it normally. I have no idea why it's like that by default if you're playing with a controller, it's so weird.

45:38 I might have figured out why they don't let you skip the first half of Nibelheim. That part has the slow opening credits.

On the topic of the Persona 3 DLC, is was originally going to be a part of the game but "Due to various circumstances" they had to abandon it. Then after they announced the game they received a lot of feedback from fans asking about the follow-up story. That gave them the support needed to make it happen.

I keep hearing that the Deus Ex Wii U port is surprisingly decent and the most involved. I know I was always really interested in playing it

I remember that when I first played nuts and bolts I slogged through the part where it tells you you're a stupid dumb idiot if you like collect-a-thon platformers and got to the hub where you put together the shopping cart. The game actively despising me, and my little kid brain assuming every vehicle was going to be just like the starting cart, repelled me so hard I never touched it again and eventually sold it to a friend of mine

Sonic Adventure's situation is even more ridiculous than what was said here, the full chain is Dreamcast -> GameCube -> PC (2004) -> Xbox 360 -> Steam (yes, that's PC to Xbox and back to PC). And somehow they've managed to make the game worse at every step in some way. The modding setup on PC is based on the original 2004 port, so if you buy the game on Steam, you first need to patch it back to the older port, and then you can install the mods to restore all the Dreamcast assets and lighting. The Steam port of SA2(B) is in some ways better off than SADX, because it only took three steps and the first two were both done by Sonic Team themselves. A lot of SA2B's changes are legitimate improvements, with only slight bugs here and there (many of which have mods to fix), certainly nothing on the level of SADX's entire collision system being awkwardly Frankensteined with SA2's because of the new Chao system.

As someone much deeper into the game it starts becoming WAY harder to area deny enemies later in the game as card variety increases. As the destruction and replacement cards start coming much more into focus there starts to be a lot more ways for the AI to turn it back around. But yeah, in Kalm it's pretty easy to bully the AI.

It was some real whiplash to hear Bob bring up Xenoblade X as I was actively playing it while listening. An X month would be perfect for draining the donathon timer to zero though.

The Mcdonalds i work at is getting multiversus toys, so i wouldnt be suprised if multiversus is coming back within the month.

Those 2 summons are not in the regular game. The only way to get them it to have save files. Actually none of the summons from the first game are back in this one without save files. As you get the new summons you won't even want to use the ones from the first game anyways. Slight spoiler I guess as to why, it's nothing important at all: You can upgrade the summons you get in this game but you can't upgrade the ones from the old game.

"Chornobyl" is the Ukrainian spelling. It's a Ukrainian studio and Ukraine has been making a push to use the native romanisations for their geography rather than the Russian version in recent years, for obvious reasons. Same reason you've probably seen Kyiv in place of "Kiev" lately.

3:23:53 to add on to Dan's first point, yeah. At that price, P3R should have environments that look at least as good as the ones in P5R. Better, even. Utterly deranged, the more I think about it the more I regret buying the game day one

There are three reasons people hate the answer in persona 3, only one of which is at all valid: 1. The original version sucked to play because it was just nothing but the parts of persona 3 you hated the most (this is the valid reason to hate the answer). However, persona 3 reload is actually fun to play and completely fixes and improves upon what used to be the worst parts, so I'm confident this version of the answer will also actually be fun to play. 2. Some just hate it on principle for being an epilogue to persona 3- I can't say anything more without spoiling things that happen in the base game, but I will say I can understand where these people are coming from, however these people almost never actually engage with the story of the answer so they're still dumb and wrong. 3. Sexism. It does that thing where like, a character is Going Through It and lashes out a lot and says and does things that are irrational, or at the very least clearly not the best or "correct" things to do and say, but because it's a girl character doing this people will just call her a bitch and say the writing is bad (among other things like "why is she acting like this, I would simply not be depressed as a result of this incredibly scarring experience they went through") even though the reason they're acting this way is not only both very clear and very empathizable, but it's a very important part of their character arc and the answer would be significantly worse if they were not written this way. Obviously these people are also dumb and wrong. tl;dr the answer is good actually and although I will personally be putting on my clown shoes to buy it I am still baffled they're charging that much for it, especially compared to the upcoming Elden Ring DLC which is only 5 dollars more and will probably basically end up being "Elden Ring II" in terms of scale. The answer does have a sizable chunk of game to play but anything more than like, $20 would be overcharging for it imo, so it's ridiculous that they're charging almost double that amount.

Hey Gumball's art wasn't that bad, like the general art direction is actually really good and alot of "Gumball is cal arts" stuff is an argument that only really done by poeple who have clearly never watched Gumball. Also saying she's "just a gumball character" is technically right but wrong in what your actual saying. One of the best things about gumball is that it doesn't have an definitive artstyle, a good chunk of the cast are different style, there's traditional, there's stop monition and there's CG. Like technically that character would fit into the setting but that's in the same way that one student who is the voice actors chin upside-down fits into the setting. Like look I get no one cares but this is like if someone kept telling you that MegaMan X was an 8-Bit game because it has pronounced pixels. Like it's taking a very visual interesting thing and boiling down to some buzz word used by stupid people who don't actually interact with the medium and just know learn general words though osmosis and use them completely incorrectly. It's so frustrating.

And I'm not buying Persona 3 Reload until the DLC comes out since the ACTUAL expansion doesn't come out till September. And all those games I can also play on PC because it's part of Xbox Everywhere. People like me buy games when they come to Xbox, you just don't care.
