I was SO lucky someone had a spare wig! I can see why people chase the older dolls now. Seeing and feeling them in person is so different. Haha it would be nice if an AG lover was nearby. Most people I know find them creepy 🤣 and I’m just like if only knew how much a fan would appreciate what you’re afraid of right now!

@@DisBlaine Once you go PC, it's hard to go back, lol. I'm grateful that I kept my childhood pieces so that I don't have to recollect them, because some of them go for a LOT these days. But I kinda get it; some of the PC stuff is just delightful.

The Universe always provides! Can't wait to see what's next! My daughter now granddaughters have all the original stuff and when the newer versions came out I wanted them for myself because of the coloring. Its so funny how I changed my view about the older/newer dolls. The ones I have for myself now meaning Sam, Kirsten, Molly, and Josephina are PC. I sew for them they are difficult to fit. I have those original PC doll patterns given to me by my sister when the kids were little, and I use them. Not like the original clothing but rewarding to make. This is so fun! Thank you.

I love those old patterns because they are so detailed. My daughter got Molly in 1991 and I sewed all of her items (even the underwear!) and they look great.

@@DisBlaine Yes I sew and made a bunch for my children and then my GD's. For me its the coloring of the doll. I like both PC and Mattel really but the newer Sam, Kirsten, and Molly have a different coloring. I just like a more vibrant look but on the other hand the dolls differ from each other even the same doll from the same year. So I guess its individual. I ended up buying my own dolls when I started sewing for the GD's as my daughter was a flight surgeon in the Navy and so was overseas and I could not borrow the dolls to sew for. Soooo a perfect excuse to buy my own. Now of course I have a tribe. Totally by accident. I would buy for the GD's and then get one for myself with the rewards. I did put a few up on display in our pediatric office (great excuse). They are just fun and I sew designs and fabrics I would never wear myself so there is a learning curve and a creative expression that I enjoy.

About the Kirsten... When you put that flower crown on the flowers are on wires so you can move the flowers around and frame them better around the crown and make the crown look prettier.

@@kerrysmiles I didn’t want to mess with it before (those wires are really stiff!) but someone told me they’re supposed to bend, so I fixed it up. You’ll have to see my classic mold doll collection to see how it turned out lol.

Hmmm I guess I could’ve quickly shown it in the video but I like to wash my hands first lol. The way I do is really easy. I just draw a little line on the cheeks or lips and rub it on and around with fingers, blending and building colors until I like how it looks.

Your Felicity looks so much better! Coming from a person with 10 Molly dolls, you must add Molly to your Pleasant Company Collection Very Soon. I don't have a Pleasant Company Molly, but she will join my collection in the near future. Love your current Molly's display.

You don’t have PC Molly?? I always call my Molly BeForever but she’s just the currrent Mattel version. PC Molly seems to come up least often locally, so it may take me a while to track down one I love. And yes her camp diorama is so perfect it’ll be even harder to find a PC doll to “compete”

Thus, I want to focus on getting Molly dolls around the same time I got my first one. Eventually, I will get a Pleasant Company Molly, and I will be getting a BeForever Molly sometime next month or in early August.

I really like Sam's Middy outfit it's one of my favs. The boots that came with it are unique because they have a slight heel. Also you can fluff out the flowers (looks better) on Kirsten's floral head thingy. I'm a PC fan also, my original six are PCs and I am trying to collect Felicity's complete wardrobe. She's the fist AG I bought for my daughter so she's special to me.

Oh yeah and I guess boots at that time had the little heel. If I come across the right pair, I’ll pick them up, but I’m fine to us Cécile’s too. I wondered if I could fluff up her head wreath! It was really stiff but I’ll give it another try. There at least one more Felicity outfit I want (riding outfit) but I wouldn’t be surprised if I ended up chasing more. Does your daughter still have her?

I’m so excited seeing that you are loving the pleasant company dolls! I do as well and I am slowly trying to build up my collection. They do have such special original looks and squishy skin. Awww what a sweet thing to say, thank you! I think I’ll eventually have a Pc version of the O6 dolls. Right now I have all the characters but no Pc version of addy, Molly, or Josephina. After we finish one thing (GOTY for you) we quickly move on to the next ☠️🤣

The Samantha outfits look great. I have those outfits and the desk. I got two desk so Nellie has one also. I sent some of my older PC dolls to be restrung a the elastic had no more give. Felicity looks beautiful with her new wig. Loving the tea set. I understand since my collection revolves around the PC furniture pieces and the dolls. This doll journey is a rabbit hole be careful. The theatre chairs are great I anted to get a second set but had to stop myself since I don't have space for the stuff I already have. Is the dress form from Target toy section. Where do you send dolls to get restrung?? Does the doll hospital do that without changing anything else? I totally would lol. I’m always on a collecting rabbit hole. These are the biggest items I’ve ever collected, so I will have to figure something out very soon…

@@DisBlaine yes i send them to the doll hospital and I get them back no changes i was worried they would change the body but they did not i sent Lindsey Bergman and my Josephina. I have two more to send in in the next month. I use my rewards when I use the doll hospital.

Interesting about the mary janes...I just checked Samantha's Meet book, both in her cover photo and several of the illustrations in the book, show Samantha wearing black boots over her tights, NOT mary janes.

@DisBlaine Nellie has the same ones too, but hers are slightly larger. I'm not a fan of them either...I cracked the strap on one of them trying to get it on. The shoes and socks set for Samantha had mary janes with velcro straps.

16:18 I think you should definitely get Samantha‘s desk, that’s an amazing price and her school desk is beautiful. That’s one of the pieces of furniture. I really wanted back when I got my Samantha. Nowadays, I’m torn between wanting to get her desk and kits roll top desk.

I've seen collectors put the doll stand under arm holder underneath the dolls outfits why is that? I've always have the doll stand under arm hold showing. Have I been doing it all wrong all these year's

I do it so it doesn’t squish and wrinkle the clothing. Hiding the arms of the stand under the clothing also looks more natural.

No, the only MGA dolls I ever collected were rainbow high. Bratz came out when I was at the wrong age to get into them. Is that what you collect?

@@DisBlaine you sadly can't always see mold. It would grow and spread tho. I think what helps with your type of collecting is They basically stay in the same outfit... But I think that's what would be the problem is a doll that has mold sharing clothes with the rest of your dolls could spread it.

@@kerrysmiles hmmm I’ll need to look into that. I just unboxed another old doll with the exact same smell. It doesn’t remind me of mold but maybe it’s different on dolls. I’m going to take this new one apart and clean everything thoroughly.
