I seen the original Harry Potter in the cinema back in '01. My gf at the time was into the stories. After the movie ended, I asked her, "what were they calling the girl? It sounded like 'Manny', or 'Marnie' w/a soft 'r'". I'd never heard the name Hermione before😃. 'Mione' was how the kids said her name. Thanks, Deirdre, R I P, sweet♡🙏🏼

Legend has it that the land the cemetery is on was originally a valley. However due to the almost 1 million unrecorded burials the land was filled in to such an extent that the ground now forms a hill. "Bloody MacKenzie" imprisoned 1200 prisoners on the site too with many starving or being executed upon his orders. Furthermore, in 1998 a homeless person broke into the MacKenzie mausoleum seeking shelter from the rain. Upon discovering the coffins inside it is believed he opened them, however the floor collapsed causing the homeless person to land in a possible plague pit of rotting corpses. Since then, Mackenzie's evil poltergeist has allegedly attacked members of the public leading to bruises, scratches and even people being knocked unconscious.

The filming location for the Leaky Cauldron was in fact at Brough Market; where the railway lines cross over Stoney Street. The entrance to Diagon Alley, as seen at the start of Half Blood Prince is opposite Leicester Square tube station in Cranbourn Street. Personally I think the real inspiration for Diagon Alley was The Shambles in York.

We stayed in the N. 1 Apartments, above The Elephant House the week of Halloween 2019. You can see the door to the apartments in your video, you can still book the apartments thru their website, the rooms have amazing views toward the kirkyard, castle and Grassmarket. In 2019 the café was still open and served delicious food. The bathrooms were covered with Harry Potter graffiti and from the table where she sat while writing the first book, you could see the kirkyard, castle and school , obvious inspiration for her books. I would highly recommend that location for a base in Edinburgh.

A few years ago I was in Edinburgh. I was staying at the Grassmarket hotel on the historic Grassmarket just down for Greyfriars. About 3am I went outside for a smoke on the deserted street. I was standing just in front of the Covenanters monument which marks the site of the public gallows where hundreds of Covenanters were hung in the 1600s. (known as the killing time) plus countless others over the following 300 years. All of a sudden I was given an almighty shove and was sent flying forward. Not a soul was around me. I was completely alone. After I had a wee heart attack I toddled back to my bed to not sleep a wink for the rest of the night. One extra weird thing was I could clearly feel the hand prints on my back for sometime after.
