It's fun to say something like that, but there are gaggles of guys like him. Not thousands, but in nashville, there are lots. The one thing that Greg does that bugs me is he often doesn't let notes finish. Almost like he's disinterested in the passage he's playing and is just getting to the next thing. On the opposite end of that is someone like Tim Pierce, who is kind of reluctant to really bust out all he knows at any given time, but every note gets 100 pennies for a dollar.

Greg brought me here, what a wonderful amp. That vibrato!!

Classic example of a monster player who knows exactly what the fuck he wants from an amp, people who know exactly how the fuck to make it. Quite reassuring for the rest of us.

Holy God.. how does he stay in tune? Greg is a prestidigitator of the gristliest order.

Really, one of the best amp demos I've heard on YT. I can't imagine this selling for less than $2.5K. There's too much additional circuitry. It's on a level with a Matchless or Carr or Victoria...

I remember that Fiesta red custom Telecaster from one of the Wildwood vids. You made it clear you wanted it, and it looks like you got it. Incredible sounding instrument with those PU's, and the amps are glorious.

I agree with him on the addition of the dwell control for reverb. It makes the traditional tube reverb much more versatile and usable throughout the range of the mix control. I wish all amps with F-style tube reverb would include dwell control.

Old style tuners and vintage bridge: still, that Tele never seems to get out of tune despite Greg's tortures ;-) ... !!! Magic \m/

Impressive amp............VERY impressive!!! I knew right away the sound we are getting here on youtube isn't even close to the actual sound, but that's to be expected.......and the amp's quality tone & timbre's still come through somewhat. Really great demo by Greg as always........but if ONLY he would've demo'd a couple other guitars as well......( Les Paul type/humbuckers, and a Strat ) that woulda been the ultimate demo for this fantastic amp. Gotta be the most versatile amp with REAL usable sounds I've ever heard. CONGRATS to all of you guys.......AWESOME JOB.

Offering both vintage tube tremolo types on one amp is very thoughtful. The tremolo level control is a nice touch as well. This amp basically reduces the size of the gigging musicians rig if your genre is a match for the amp's tone. One amp and no pedals to get all the standard tones, excluding metal.

Yes they have the same name, but this is Greg's signature amp. Read the description. Builder may not be the correct term. More like adviser.

Dumbass yourself - there is a Koch builder and another Koch player, who probably get some money or amps to put his name on the amp. The player is not the builder.

If I had the cash I'd buy this amp in a heartbeat.

I love my Koch. 😃 Many say it's Marshalley w/ the EL-34s. But from hanging around in my bedroom playing with my koch I can tell you its more like a goodly sized Bassman circuit 60s Vibro-lux or Vibro-verb. The carton says 50watt, all-tube, 2x10" Deluxe Combo, medium weight and Loaded with Features. They ain't lying. The 5 button foot switch has all the goodies on tap. Set it up and blast away.

EL 34 tubes have the warm, sweet, lush tone blues guitarist love. My "ultimate amp" would be made up of EL 34s and a half power switch for home use. 2 10s or 1 12?

I saw Greg on KTBA at sea March 2023. The first song he did was a tribute to Jeff Beck, Cause we ended as lovers. Killer player, kind of carrying Jeff Beck’s torch. I wouldn’t mind having an amp called the “killer Koch”.😂

I give the Mas a lot of credit for being a kind of steward for the classic guitars, amps and sounds - it's partly an homage yes but partly nobody else is doing it quite his way & otherwise those old Bursts are becoming entombed in Tokyo collectors' vaults never to be heard screaming on stage again. It's keeping old things alive & real instead of just marketing them in reissues and talking about them in forums. Like those classical players who pull out incredible million-dollar curated string instruments for special performances of Bach of that other guy with a wig.

It is always a challenge to get a good low end from a combo amp. Greg's amp seems to have good low frequency reproduction.

I told them when they made this amp for me: if I’m going to put my Koch on this, it better sound good :)

Hopefully there is a nice foot switch which is part of the purchase price and included! Love that fat KOCH tone!

Gavin Hunter they had the footswitch at The NAMM Show I believe....or music messe..... I saw the video but I can't remember what show it was and they specifically talked about the footswitch that was included controlling all of those functions

Koch Amps, thank you for making this beast of an amp. I hope the next time you check the audio quality of the recorded video before you upload it. This video is very distorted and doesn't helps Greg or your brand.

The recording sounded like there was a lot of unnecessary echo or reverb on the tone. Other than that the demo was awesome.

No it doesn't get nice clean when you turn down the guitar volume. It just gets quiet.

I love the demo, but I wish someone had taken the time to mic the amp and get better audio.

The videos sound quality ruins the hearing experience. Not a good way to plug/sell an amp/sound.

6 x 12ax7s?! Surely a metal monster lol. I’m guessing one for tremolo one for reverb and one for effects loop.

The problem is with size of amp. I don't want a small Koch I want a big Koch. I assume the black amps are bigger?

Its a Fender Custom Shop 54' Tele, and he may have his "Greg Koch Fishman Fluence" Tele pick ups, in it.

I thought it was a Freeman from the decal on the headstock. They have them at a shop here in Seattle and they're every bit as good as a Fender CS Relic at 1/4 the cost.

The one in the video is! But we always work with our own PCB boards. Tube spring reverb and Tube vibrato.

Respectfully, why on earth didn't you mic the amp? Very difficult to determine how it truly sounds in this video, as the audio quality, relative to today's KZread recording standards, is quite low.

I went and checked the amp out with full intentions of buying it after watching Gregs awesome playing in this video. This amp does the clean and mild break up thing well but doesn't venture into Marshall territory. Tone reminded me of a Mesa Boogie Lone Star...Nice but not for me...

Probably the best combo amp I've ever heard. And it doesn't hurt to quote from Hendrix either for the demo. Incredible. And if they sell for under $3K US, they won't be able to make them fast enough...

I'm guessing amp will be between $1400 and 2000$ US. Koch amps are not overpriced and they are great quality.
