It’s called an adaptation. It adapted. Aka it changed to suit the needs of the current consumers. I love it but it doesn’t diminish my love for the original. One of my favorite quotes from the new one is actually “Love is not quantifiable”. You should give it a try. It’s not always dark and gritty. It’s beautiful and a breath of fresh air from current television.

For some reason I like the new one better. The old one is fine but the new ones got something to it that makes it more enjoyable and realistic. People who make comments about which version is better obviously don't see both sides of a character. Megan Follows plays the more romantic side of Anne whereas amybeth portrays her more emotional side. Both are very well done for the times they were in.

I wish I was born in those days and on that island. I met a cousin, Thibodeaux live there and he said it is beautiful. I hope and pray one day to visit them. God Bless.

The comments of the viewers are fantastic. We girls like to have Gilbert in our lives. Let's keep on dreaming, who knows we might find one. I've read all the books, the eight of 'em and saw the movies (Trilogy). Watched them all repeatedly and I'm still wanting to watch 'em again, and again, and again, and again. The best Love Story of Gilbert and Anne Blythe. Thank you for sharing.

Lodi Daley - The author committed suicide because Gilbert never came in her window of physical attractiveness to men. She married a pastor at 36 who got early onset Alzheimer's. She offed herself at 67.

made me cry on the inside. sometimes when I go through hardships, I feel like life will never be happy again. If I were Anne, I might've been forever depressed after Matthew and Marilla passed away, and that part when she comes back to a dark house full of spider webs. I like how she was able to make herself a happy place.

I loved reading the series as a child, and watching the movie series. touching, romantic, warm.

Anne of Green Gables with Megan Is my favourite ever film but the.series on Netflix is also good and actually quite different. It does not matter how many times I watch this film, it makes me bawl every time.x

I Love the scene where Anne returns to Green Gables. The house and property are old, broken and falling into disrepair. But all she can see is the Glorious and Happy times she spent there.

I own this series and have watched it enough times to recite the script backwards and forwards. I watched it as a child and fell back in Love as an adult.

My grandmother is from Prince Edwards Island. It’s so beautiful. This movie really tried to show it. I just watched all of the movies.♥️

It saddens me to see Anne walking around and through what Green Gables had become in her absense. She sees what the new owners have or in this case haven't done, which is keep it looking beautiful as Matthew and Marilla always did. She see how terrible her home has become. When she is inside inspecting what has become of the interior of her former home, she looks as if as Anne would put "My heart has just Shattered in a million tiny jagged piece Diana." After the fire she is mortified as well

My friend and I where in Love with the movies and book when we where teens. I always wanted to Dress Just Like her and be Difrent then other girls. we wanted our Future HUsbands to look just Like Gil did. lol. and Anne reminds me so much of myself as a young teen.

What a lovely tribute. I choked up when it came to the scene of Anne and Diana came back to Green Gables all in in disarray. You did a beautiful job on this video. Thank you for sharing it with us. Wonderful, wonderful memories.

I love Anne. I have also read, nay, devoured the books many times. I was reluctant to find out if they made any movies of it as i felt Montgomery's words, poetry-like just could not be put into pictures. just like a thousand words couldnt explain a picture. I youtubed and this what i found. An even more run-down and watered version of movies than expected. Believe ME, read the books. They are poetry in form of a novel.

So true. Green Gables was never burnt down or deserted. Children of Anne and Gilbert went there often and Davy was there to look after the affairs even when Marilla was no more. The movie, as I observed from the clips elsewhere tried to almost paint Mrs. Lynde as an obnoxious toxic lady when she was just old school and 'that's what'. I am not going to watch the movie adaptation, they just wipe off the subtlety and make it so very dramatic 🙃

and your heart kind of breaks along with hers. However, this is a natural reaction of anyone who sees something or somewhere that they loved or lived in as a child get destroyed. If I found my former childhood home unkept and destroyed, look out, I'd be on the war path and howling for blood. I'd be absolutely unstoppable.

I want a quaint and quiet life, baking cupcakes for my grandchildren. Growing fresh food from the garden. I will retire early and live peacefully doing good in my community and spending warm wonderful times with loved-ones.

Jennifer Cromwell - Keep in mind PEI is only shirt sleeve weather two months of the year if that. Three months of the year you're buried under 6 feet of snow.

Beautiful tribute, i love it. One small thing though, Green Gables is the "house" displayed in this video, NOT the "House of Dreams" wich is the 1st. house Gilbert and Anne live in, and then later they move to Ingleside when married.

Was a great dreamy show that gave so much beauty!

I remember the first time I saw Diana in this movie.... She is just so perfect as is in the book!

Hace años vi esa serie, ahora con mi esposa vemos los capítulos por internet, estas imágenes de green gables deteriorada me recuerda la casa que arregle para mi madre hace muchos años y que después de su muerte se vendió, hace un par de años fui a verla y se encontraba en malas condiciones, ni pintada ni limpia como la mantenía en aquellos años, una nostalgia por el recuerdo de mi madre y por un sentimiento amargo de sentir que trabaje para nada, al ver estas escenas me acorde de aquello que acabo de compartir les.

Did her son die on the battlefields of France in the mini series? Or did they just skip the Ingleside books?

War is wrong the 3rd part called continuing story doesnt follow the books at all. The totally dreamed it all up with Gilbert going to war as a doctor instead of their son. It was pretty good but way to much about intrigue and spies for my taste. I loved the book Rilla of Ingleside about their daughter and the war. Wish they had done a script based on that!
