I used to compromise on financial stability. Not again. The world revolves around money. I used to compromise on sex, NEVER EVER again. I starved for two years, it drove me mad. I used to compromise on distance, not again. If you are not in the same city as me, date people from your city. Leave me alone.

The question might not be "WHY ARE YOU IN THERAPY" coz that might come off as intrusive. But coz you also want to know who you are dealing with. The way to phrase that would be, "WOULD YOU MIND TELLING ME ABOUT IT". OR "WOW WHAT IS THERAPY LIKE?". they will tell you sth that will give you a hint of what it's about.

I previously compromised on my importance in the relationship. Like it didn't really matter what I wanted,as long as my partner was happy, but I've learnt how to place value on my own wants and expectations, and it's honestly amazing to have someone place as much value on me as I do on them.

Totally with Lonzie on not being able to fight. Expressing when I am angry is so hard coz the emotion would overwhelm me and I would just give up on my stand and let the other person take the day. BUT, I am learning to express myself even in hard conversations. Even though it means waiting just a little to get my thoughts in order. So that I can express without the blockage of emotions.

My red flag: The moment I feel hurt, I become someone else..I forget that we need to preserve the relationship..I go for the jugular, I’ll say anything and everything to hurt them back. And then I end up regretting because I didn’t mean anything I said.

@@Anyango31 Yeah exactly we don’t start it, we get provoked. But tbh it is a problem, we need to self reflect and maybe find out why we feel the need to exert revenge or fight with no end in mind. Maybe we have childhood traumas and we didn’t learn healthy conflict management. I am seriously working on it; these days I catch myself doing it and I have to talk myself down.

What Lornzie said about being unable to articulate yourself in a fight is also true for me. I'd rather not talk about it, but I also want to solve the issue there and then, but if I try to, I'll most likely cry and I don't want to be seen as weak. So I postpone to when we're not together I text the issue. So far it has been working, but its because I don't live with my partner, I have to work on it though, for the long run.

Dating in different financial brackets is very difficult. I couldn't do it and straight up told him "it's because you don't have money". Yo! I was planning to buy a house, and he was planning to fix his 14k phone. No, ah ah no. Sharing problems is hard, one time I needed 245k to solve a problem all I got was "wueh, sorry babe". It's hard to even think of going for simple drinks because you have to factor in their financial muscle. No, lasted 3days. I couldn't do it.

Oh gosh, such a good conversation! I used to compromise on faith, like that is not something I can do at all right now. I do not compromise on people that do not believe in God, atheists. It works for some but definitely not me. I tried and it was just sad all the time. Kept thinking the person would come around. No compromise on rudeness, alcohol, smoking, or any drug-related things. It is a downward spiral I never want to go through again.🙂

For me my green flags are; 1-a man who is intentional and knows exactly what he wants with me. 2-Puts in the effort and keeps his word. A man who keeps his promise on whatever he said. That's attractive I cannot deal with boys who tell lies. I used to compromise dating avoidant men and yet I was an insecure person according to my attachment style

With you all on the kindness, watching how one interacts with people around them can tell a lot. Are people happy to see them? Even when they don't deserve it, are they good to people they aren't bedding? Learnt not to compromise on: a lack of ambition, a sense of curiosity, reliability. Red flags: Consistent money problems, poor body hygiene and no purpose/direction in their career. Green flag, Kenyanness (the sense of humour + the 'enjoyment' spirit this comes with), socio-economic progress.

Out of topic but can you guys have an episode on having kids in the modern day and the phobia on the new generation.because am 25,and i've been so anti kids like i genuinly can't get a single beneficial reason to why people should get kids.ppl look at me weird when i say i don't like kids and don't see why i should have them, and i hate that they try to change my mind but this is how i feel.from what i see kids just take from you for the rest of your life and all you get is some giggles.i strongly believe it's solely for procreation and that alone.and only those who have a strong tolerance, will to fight and perseverence can do it.this other reasons people give don't make sense at all.

Apparently the benefit is the kids themselves but I'm still not sold. Childfree for life. People's opinions don't faze me anymore, I'm always like what will you benefit from "changing" my mind? You want us to be miserable together? Lol.

I share the same sentiments. As of now I don't want kids. Maybe past 30 when I'm sure I have the capacity to give my babies a wholesome life I might change but sahi staki

@@itsme_Andi how though?or it's the old tale of they'll help you in the future? But do they?is it really their responsibility because from my own experience parents be trying to live through their kids.ounce they get of age they struggle to get a life for themselves but at the same time parents expect them to take care of them something i find so selfish.

@@okum5092 That's what baffles me too. I think some are just in love with the aesthetic of having a family and never really think through the whole idea of parenthood so they can decide if that's what they truly want. I think it's selfish to bring someone to this earth just because you don't want to be lonely in your old age. But then, their choices don't affect me so I try to respect that. There are awesome parents out there though who are doing an amazing job and it warms my CF heart to see them give their kids a non-toxic childhood.

As a counsellor and as a person who goes to therapy, its inappropriate to ask why someone is in therapy. Just my opinion. I cant imagine telling someone what i am working on with my therapist. Its just weird. Life coach maybe, but iiisshhh😆😆😆😅😅😅

Hi Guys, I have an issue I feel I needto know whether its a green or red flag. May partner is proposing to me to let her have her time out for like a week then come back. She wants leave me behind with our child during that period. What can I do. It's really troubling me soooo much. I thought as a family we are a priority during that time out.

I suggest you talk and ask her why she feels she needs time out. Be very open and receptive and ask from a place of wanting to understand not fight.
