It’s nice to see the trucking industry keeping up with the times and making things better for truckers and their trucks. An APU saves on engine run time fuel and keeps you warm on a cold night.

JT, Relook that bracket at the Muffler, the one you unbolted at thr top. Could of been the camera angle or my old eyes but it looked strained like it needed flipped 180, that would put the clamp mid part of te flange area and not produce strain on the bracket.

Love it!

A sound meter of the before and after on the sound would’ve told the real story, just by ear and on speakers, sounds the same……good luck on the garage sale T Dubs……

not quiet at all imo

Hopefully that doesn't make it louder in the cab. The drone of the APU helps cover up truck stop noises that wake you up. I think an exhaust extension to the back of the bobtail would be ideal.

Wow I have a green apu and I had mine in this past week to get a new inverter put in my old one went bad and they didn't mention anything about a update to the apu exhaust system I guess I'm going to have to give them a call and then take it to them to have them do it for me since I'm not very mechanically inclined to do something like that oil is one thing but that exhaust is another :)

Any Chace for exhaust fumes getting in the cab?

We connected the Green Apu exhaust to the exhaust stack on our KW. Green Apu is figuring out what to do to prevent that from happening.

They should have 1 more bend on the end of the pipe to send it back towards the trailer and add like 4 more inches so it sends the fumes and the sound away from the cab. ​@@Jesse_Jessie_James

Do you have a carbon monoxide detector in your cab? I know you don’t run where there is snow but it just seems that for those that do and run the apu underneath any buildup of snow around the truck might redirect the exhaust into the cab.

I certainly do... you can have air leaking into your cab. And in the truckstops where many trucks are either idling or running an APU, there's always that chance of something coming into the cab.

Just a heads up. South carolina banned squater trucks.

So the solution is just to reroute the exhaust the other way? How is that making it quieter? It'll be louder on the other side instead and potentially introducing fumes into cabin. Adding another muffler and a high flow cat would make it quieter. Nothing like some BS marketing.

cant wait till they start making electric apu's. just for parking you can enjoy comfortable temperatures and not hear the generator or smell exhaust (because it exits under the cab) really hoping those catch on soon.

Electric apps are already here thermoking sells them and other dealers also and they are called epu's tk has one but not sure what that one is called but they are really not worth the money that they charge for them

Greenapu is alot better then thermoking or carrier and alot better then dynasis or rig master greenapu is designed for the American trucker and easy to maintain yourself

I dont have a Green APU... I NEED ONE...Maybe i should get a truck first... Priorities...😅😅

We have the garage sale like once a month. Jesse collects record's good one's. And skull and bones stuff. And I buy stuff that would look good in the house. Friends are like half of the house is like an antique house and the other side is like a biker's paradise. Jesse and (Mechanic) don't know which one. They fabricated the Green Apu System exhaust with the KW exhaust system and it works excellent. The Volvo we are using it does have a Apu System (Not Green Apu) and it's loud. We are at the hotel Ww are between North Carolina and Virginia. We stopped due to the Earthquake's in New York and New Jersey. I hate tunnel's and Jesse was like bleep that. We are going to wait until tomorrow if it's all good. Kid's was calling me and I was like we are going to stop in Virginia. Cause we wanted to wait and see what happens. We are going to head out tomorrow. We hate this motel. Only one I found that we could park the Volvo in with the trailer. The beds are full size and Jesse's feet over hangs pretty good. Beds are 6' height. And Jesse's 6'5'. Daisy bumped into Jesse's feet earlier this morning and she was like oh bleep. Cause she thought she woke him up he just turned over and belched. She was like ugh sheesh. That's badass your antenna's flashes color's. Daisy was like that's beautiful and Jesse belched and she was like that's disgusting and that's beautiful (Your Antenna's. We are going to zzzz and head out of this hotel. It's decent but small. I can't walk around the side of one side of the bed to get in. Hopefully we make it to New Jersey and unload the trailer. And stay up here and dispatcher or be find a load that pays good with a trailer in excellent condition.

Honestly that APU is still very noisy. 😊💥

How much was for the unit plus installation total? Thinking of buying one

I paid $13,420 A year ago. Didn't include an inverter as I sourced and installed that myself. I LOVE my Green APU... it's running right now.

@@MrSehka77 I have a Peterbilt 387, and run East coast to Texas, up to Wisconsin but no NY or northeast from there. It cools OK, but you have to start with the cab already fairly cool from the truck AC. I close my curtains and something to block direct sun thru the windshield would help but I haven't done it. I have the material, just been to busy. Hottest climate I've been in was Texas and Louisiana where it was 107.
