I buy and sell cars trucks boats semi trucks trailers airplanes helicopters heavy equipment and just about anything else. I always listen to my intuitions and I can almost always predict trouble with buyers. When something doesn't feel right I have my brother meet the meet the people while I am parked a distance away in my suburban with my .408 cheytac keeping an eye on the situation.

One thing I’d suggest is buy a shop and park both trucks in a garage so they don’t get stolen

We have a 2022 Ford Ranger. We were told we need to replace the cabin filter. They wanted $75. I told them, no. Went home watched a KZread video and $15 ( cost of the filter) later it was done. Took maybe 10 minutes. Husband and I changed the air filter, too. Have to what you need to do to save money.

Something is wrong with so many people nowadays. Glad everyone is safe. Happy Birthday early TDubs.

I say it everyday! People have lost their minds and used COVID an excuse and more!

switching 3 of the air lines coming off of the air manifold (firewall, driver's side) will effectively and discretely disable the air system. A would-be thief won't be able to release the brakes, the bags won't inflate properly, etc. etc. depending on which 3 lines you choose to swap around. You can also pull the electrical passthroughs on the interior side of the air manifold and place the interior panels back in place, and nobody would be able to tell unless they started pulling everything apart... little tips and tricks I learned when I was towing, because people getting their trucks impounded and then trying to steal them back is/was a very real issue. Point is, there are several less obvious ways to "sabotage" a truck and make it unfuckwithable unless someone wants to spend a bunch of time making themselves look super suspicious

Pull the ECM they're still very valuable and being stolen.

install a KILL SWITCH, Justin. that is another great option.

I've had stuff like that happened before They end up looking at two or three different trucks . Then they mix you up with the truck they're looking at but they still keep you on the hook just in case They don't want the other truck it's a pain in the ass 🤷 Then they end up ghosting you.

Justin you have to be very careful meeting people when they say they want to meet you to look at your truck to by it. They don’t want your truck they want what’s in your garage. That’s why they get you to come out to your truck just to follow you home if they did that that explains why you didn’t see them they seen you.

14:40 actually, if you are texting from an iPhone and the text messages are green then you are texting someone that has an Android phone. If the text messages are blue, then it means they also have an iPhone. Or that the message is being sent as an actual text message. Apple uses an Apple only format for messages between iPhones.

I’ve sold stuff on Marketplace in the past. Also had people do the same to me. Figure most of them are scams. The ones I think are scams I don’t give them my address an meet them at public place.

I don't see turning a load down for 50.00 dollars but you also have your stuff paid off and low payments on the rest just goes showing that saving and paying off things without alot of payments work good.....

This is what happens on KZread. Try to be a good person and people try and take advantage of you. Justin, take care of your family. You truly are a good man, husband and father.

I hear ya about getting to the gym. I've lifted since college which helps me stay active now at 70. I tweaked my back last fall and haven't been in the weight room and had to throttle back on snow activities. It's frustrating to lose the physical status you had. Feeling better and going to start givin er soon with a goal is to be benching 300 again by late summer or die trying. Good you are getting back at it ... very important.

Install a kill switch away from the cab only where you know where it's at and not the kids that start the truck once in awhile. Live in albuquerque and that's a great security. Viper makes a good system

Hey Justin, if you are still concerned, you could always look into a couple things, I used to work in private security/law enforcement and have set these up multiple times for clients and the like.. First is electronic cutoffs, they can be installed on fuel lines/tanks (these are electronically operated valves), also cut off switchs for your batteries. Another way it can be done, is have a cutoff to the trucks main elecetronics (truck can't run without that!) I have installed ignition cutoffs for clients, but always against my advice, as they are usually cheap and can be fairly easily bypassed, I prefer to put them in a little deeper. You can hide the switches somewhere on the vehicle, or you can get them fob operated for extra protection (just keep up with the batteries in the fobs, lol). Another thing you could do is get some battery/solar powered security cams (trail cams would also work). They pretty much work the same as your lakehouse ones. They'll have an app for your phone attached, so you can get the feed in real time. You could install them in the trees around where you park or anywhere else you think would work best. I don't know how your insurance works, but over here in NZ, companies usually give you a discount for each added level of security you have, just a thought mate. Hope it all went well.

Hey Justin, I wouldn't be discussing that you have Apple air tags on your stuff just because any potential thieves that are watching your videos could obviously go and try and find those and take them off and throw them away prior to actually taking any of your equipment and then getting in and driving them away or hooking them up and towing them away and not having the Apple air tags on the equipment would not help you obviously. Also, I would recommend not relying only on just the air tags but would also put some additional GPS tracker somewhere within the frame of the vehicle as well. I'm thinking you need to hide it so that nobody else could know where it is. Not just welding it to the outside of the frame or something like that because thieves can obviously knock those things off or cut the welds or what have you. You need to hide them so they can't be found. My thought is, the person that came there is actually just studying your area and isn't looking to just steal the FLD but also potentially your kenworth because your Kenworth is obviously worth quite a bit more considering how good of shape it's in but also that you have a fairly new rebuilt motor in it. Although having the air tags or GPS trackers would at least help you try to locate your equipment if it were to get stolen, I would actually recommend doing something else instead to try to prevent your stuff from being stolen or at the very least driven away so that it would force your thieves to have to try and tow your things away which would obviously be very difficult with a semi truck. Although it would be tedious and a little bit time consuming before and after every startup, I would recommend figuring out a way to unhook a few items such as a starter wire or take a couple relays out or disconnect a couple wires or maybe disconnect some of the injector harnesses or something to prevent the truck from starting and running so that they couldn't drive it away. Even if it was something as simple as disconnecting the fuel pump wires or something else. Maybe even having a separate battery disconnect so that they couldn't start your semi trucks. And not one with a big switch on it but something that was hidden and only you know about. Again, I would recommend trying to figure out a couple wires somewhere or a couple relays or being able to disconnect something that would maybe just take a minute or two to hook up so that you could start the vehicle but only you know how to start it with whatever it is that you disconnect. Just my thoughts to try to help. I think that whatever happened recently was just somebody coming to scope out your vehicles to try to plan something for the future so be careful.

Justin, Yesterday I was thinking the same, how come no one touches your Trucks as its a very quiet area where you park, You need a tracking facility in them or Move one away & Store securely.

We stopped using Facebook and I got friendly with a owner of a Tracking company here in the Uk they allowed me to buy the sim cards for tracking, they registered them to their system then switched them off so no monthly fees but can be tracked if a crime Occurs. Times are changing not for the better unfortunately, Enjoyed the update.

I had a similar situation but I was the buyer & the seller started acting sketchy but your a good dude Justin just keep pushing

You can put a car alarm on your trucks with starter Kill. I installed myself. You can get one for low price of $50.00 dollars. Ez to installed. I put remote start with GPS. I can Stat it from anywhere in the world.

Looked at FB and there's multiple pages of the same person, all with current posts. Sounds fishy. I'm wondering if the truck with California plate is the same person. It shows California as current status.

A broker, or an agent working for a broker, with a mortgage of $4,500 month, is enough evidence to prove what truckers are saying, that brokers are using greed and economic factors to drive rates down to the truckers to increases their profit margins and write themselves fat paychecks. These agents working for brokerages operate on commission. Sad. Glad to see a truckers stick to his figures. Let them loose their houses before loosing yours. They have no clue what a breakdown on a load costs the trucker under a load that pays below their operating cost. Glad to see a trucker that chooses quality time with the family over cheep freight. Love it! America needs more truckers like you. Unfortunately, many truckers have monthly truck mortgages triple or more than their monthly home mortgages. Maybe they will figure it out one day that driving $250K or more trucks doesn’t get them premium rates. They’re the ones that run cheap great, drive rates down and feed the fat and busting pockets of brokers. Wow!
