Didnt see the exaust pipe for apu, make sure u get it extended twords the back of truck, also grab a carbon monoxide detector and install as well. Let us know how its working out for ya. Might give green apu a try the next go around.

Just a quick note. On a jet passenger aircraft, the APU's exhaust is situated right at the back at the base of the rudder. Looking at the 3" bendy pipe, it looks the same in my caravan that blows out either cold or hot air. Neat!!! :) :) :)

APUs were just becoming a thing, back in 2006, when I retired. I always thought it was an awesome idea, to have a separate unit, that could run all the comfort aspects of living in a truck, without using the main engine.

In 82 when I was a driver the only thing you’d see an APU on was the Western Star. That truck was way out of my price range.

Back in the 90s I bought a freight shaker with a Double Eagle sleeper. Back then they called them generators. Very nice to have. Mine had a little Kubota engine in it.

Damn I wish I heard of them before I bought my used Thermal King APU. Next time for sure.

Nice truck man but the dang squeaky man i had the same problem in my large car seeing it is an older truck took me 3 whole weeks to stop all squeaking and rattling.... i got it done tho!

The Mack MP8 Engine is a Volvo power plant at 450bhb. But they can be uprated to 500bhp at your Mack shop. It is not painted red to look like a Cummins thats for sure.

I've had three different brands of APU's. A Rig Master on my 9300 International which I replaced just about everything on it at least once. I took the Rig Master off and had a Centramatic APU installed. Traded trucks for a 4900EX Western Star that came with a Carrier Comfort Pro. Had it almost 4 years. Traded it for a new 2016 Coronado Glider which I immediately had another Carrier Comfort Pro. Every one of the manufacturers claim to have enough BTU's to keep the cab comfortable. None of the one's I've had will do that. When it's in the 90s and the sun is up.

An AP used is definitely a great investment. But I have learned my lesson I will never have an APU that is tied into the coolant system of the truck. For the simple fact is you cannot run your Apu while you're driving the truck because you have to water pumps fighting each other also if your water pump on your engine blows or your water pump on your Apu blows you are done you're stuck there until you get it fixed. I will only run a stand-alone APU. I've had the AC go out in the truck and I can reach back there hit the button turn the Apu on keep on driving the same thing with the alternator.

Nice and cold in my sleeper this morning. Town pump in a Shelby Montana. Slept like a baby. 😜

I had green APU and beside huge noise from the muffler, I had frequent oil change requests popping out on the APU's remote.... How frequently the new units needs oil change? PS I admit that I changed oil myself and filters (oil and fuel) were are available at Petro for under $10

Your Kenworth makes more noise then your Volvo like the w900 more just makes more noise my opinion loves your videos tho great work thanks 💯🤟🏼
