GREATEST HITS of 2019 (Thermal Hog Hunting) | Horn Swamp Hunting
Спорт
(GIANT HOG CHARGES right by me in the last clip - watch till the end!)
We removed hundreds of invasive wild hogs from south Alabama in 2019 while night hunting with Pulsar thermal scopes and ARs. Here is a collection of the very best thermal hog (and coyote) hunting clips of the year - our Christmas present to you.
Let me know what you think in the comments!
GUN: AR-15 (Caliber 6.5 Grendel)
SCOPE: Pulsar Trail XP50
AMMO: 6.5 Grendel Wolf 100 Grain Fmj
OUR MISSION:
We work to beat back the invasion of feral hogs into southern Alabama. Hogs are widely considered to be the most destructive invasive species in America. These invasive creatures destroy the land, eat crops, and endanger the survival of native species. While our method may never fully eradicate the population of wild hogs in the area, it can prevent further increase of populations and thus reduce the negative effects caused by them.

So this is why people need assault weapons.
Usually I like seeing one-shot kills, but with these vermin, take two or three. As long as they're immobilized and you can give them a finishing shot later, mission accomplished. Good work!

Some Random Bald Guy I’ve come to the same opinion, it’s not the goal to cause unnecessary pain, but you can’t be perfect.
Would you take the friggin shot! It's not a beer can, it's going to move.
This is definitely on my bucket list of things to do. Great video and amazing shots!
Great video, you can really see the damage they do as the dirt flies while they're rooting around. A couple of those porkers looked like they were trying to dig to China. The carnage they wreak on crops is devastating, I don't think most people realize what kind of damage wild hogs can do.

Yes, they will wreck fields in a matter of days! Plus, they endanger native wildlife, spread disease, and cause other problems.
Wow I would have figured that the grendel would have laid them out more, just a suggestion, put your point of aim ahead of the hog where can see where its going. Your kill shots will go way up. Have fun and good work. Roll Tide
Excellent footage! Job well done! Thank you for the great entertainment!
What do you do with the carcasses?
Dude.. Awesome vid!!!!
I'll burn this onto a CD and listen to it on my way to work.
Jeez mate - what ammo are you using? Those hogs just drop dead 😁. Great shooting skills.

Feral hogs are wonderful animals, are such an asset for humans. Happy to see you are promoting these beautiful animals and giving them such an important and dignified spot on your channel.

Sorry for late reply. We love the 6.5 Grendel. It’s a great round. It shoots fast and kills well. We shoot 100 grain full metal jacket wolf ammo. It’s very economical considering we shoot a few thousand rounds a year. Our guns are custom made by a local guy.
Now that warms my soul on this cold CA December day. See the one about 1/3 into video that bucks & jumps then hauls ass. B4 going into afterlife. Then at the end there's the fatty who soaks up rounds while running until it self destructs. Love the meat sprays on the through and through shots. But missed squealing sounds. Lovely video. Pigs were just dying to be part of the fun. Christmas cheer!! To all! Go SDSU football & basketball!!

Hogs in AL seem to be larger or at least fatter than those in TX. Am I imagining this? Or do they practically look back & laugh when shot?
@hornswamp
4 жыл бұрын
Hogs here and in Texas are probably about the same size. The difference between the hogs you see in our videos and hogs in Texas may just be distance. Depth perception isn’t very good through these scopes.
0:20 is a twofer .. the round went through the hog in the front and killed the one behind him allowing for a easier second hit on the first one.
Good stuff!

My pet peeve is when they get away. I would use an automatic gun and spray them all. Is it safe to eat feral hogs? I have read both sides, yes and no. I thought it was not safe due to worms and other diseases they carry. Thanks

People might squawk over the "wanton" shooting of these creatures. While the shelves are becoming more bare for our foods, these vermin are devastating crops intended for people and eating the only crops surviving the weather. There is little grain left in storage, and the weather promises to only get worse. And while I don't eat them anymore, the Chinese are begging for them. Sold!
Do live feral pigs eat off the carcasses of dead feral pigs? Thanks for the posting. Good on ya mate.
@hornswamp

No, they won’t touch the carcasses of other dead hogs. Meat is not on the menu for the pigs.
Silence of the Hams
Is it possible to erradicate them completely. I know that first immigrants almost wiped out native bisons using weapons which werent so efficent like right now.

Horn Swamp Hunting THANK YOU! I do realize these animals are a pest and cause damage. I am a hunter too so that’s fine. But it really causes grief when so many people could benefit from this pork! Thanks for the those that you find a table!
My late father was born lone Star State of Texas so he's not here so im going to my uncle house and go wild boar hunting
Wild hogs to a fam field are as bed bugs are to a mattress.
When targeting a sounder of boars would you please stay with an individual boar until it is properly down. I know they are pests, but they are still animals. I have noticed lots getting hit, after which you focus on a different animal and the hit boar continues running. This not right. For the rest keep up the good work. I wish we could use the tools you employ.
You shot wild boars in the asss, damn you! This is barbarian and fucking unhumanity

@joshuaearnheart2756

David H marksmanship isn’t the problem. Hogs are TOUGH. Maybe the full metal jacket choice of ammo should be reconsidered but they were good shots. I’ve shot them 15 yards and closer with 150 grain Remington core lokt 30-06 and they still run 100 yards with gelatin for organs

Just because they don’t drop doesn’t mean they aren’t getting hit. Lots of those hogs take 3-5 bullets to go down.
Dude!... I think you’re a good shot & deserve credit for that. Here’s what is the rest of what I think: Once you hit one,... move on! Don’t keep throwing wasting shots at it. YOUR GOAL IS TO KILL as many as possible-screw politiycy correctness. Clottectionesd. Means nothing Political Clttectionessb
It is cruel to not kill the hogs still alive but wounded. Make it quick to not suffer.
Missing more than you hit? If you wound one just kill the damn thing instead of shooting another one! Practice on the wounded ones that are still running instead of wounding 10 or more just for them to come back and get wounded again!
