GREATEST HITS of 2018 (Thermal Hog Hunting) - Horn Swamp Hunting
Спорт
We removed over 250 wild hogs during the summer of 2018 at night shooting Pulsar thermal scopes and ARs. Here's the best of the spring, summer, and fall condensed into 13 minutes of pig popping.
GUN: AR 15 6.5 Grendel
SCOPE: Pulsar Trail XP50
Welcome to the world of thermal hog hunting, the preferred method for farmers to thin the populations of feral hogs on their property. Invasive wild pigs are destroying farmland all over the country, especially in Texas. While the populations of wild hogs here in south Alabama aren't as huge, it's still a big problem. We take the fight to them, night hunting with Pulsar thermal scopes and ARs. It's pest control, but maybe not the kind you're used to!
OUR MISSION:
We work to beat back the invasion of feral pigs into southern Alabama. These invasive creatures destroy the land, eat crops, and endanger the survival of native species. While our method may never fully eradicate the population of wild hogs in the area, it can prevent further increase of populations and thus reduce the negative effects caused by them.

I have to admit... it’s fun to watch some of the worst shooting. You know it’s bad when on your first shot, hog runs! Not just run, but a strong run! Great vid!!!

@Bigg A• I just don't get it how some of these guys are trying to take down a 250 or 300 pound hog with one body shot. They are pest just load um up with lead, a good lung shot should slow um down.

You guys are giving me anxiety ulcers when I see a group of hogs all bunched together and only one shot is fired letting the rest of them scatter.
This should be recognised by the IOC and part of the next summer Olympics. Real gold medal prospect here!
I asked about your counting out loud, you answered, well you made good sence, I hun t but new to hogs. I was wrong, keep doing your thing.
This guy is a good steady shot. He doesnt panic when they scramble and shoot wildly.

This video's fantastic. I love squealers. Your rig is silent. Are pigs more likely to get up & run after a rear gut shot vs a side shoulder shot?

Yup...the Keith Warren, Carp Sauce (yeah, I spelled it wrong), and Tim Wells' "play by play" commentary wears on ya real quick. I believe that they just like to hear themselves talk. Then, you got the bunch who want to grow up and be VJ's, DJ's, and musical score creators are a couple others. All that stuff just yanks the realism and enjoyment right out of the vids. Almost like they think that they're teaching a bunch of first graders. I'm sure that they're fine people, but damn. Hell, my daughter (started her in the woods and on the water when she was 5-6yrs old) and ex-wife don't ratchet-jaw like that. Speaking of my daughter, she's like her mom...the poor thing is uncoordinated as hell. But, if I'm lyin, I'm dyin, when I say she took to a fishing rod and shootin iron like she was born with em. Admittedly, I'm biased, but aren't we dads supposed to be lol?

Good stuff buddy cheers from australia Loving the thermal here too :)
The best is when you see big hunks of flesh get torn off and fly 30 feet from the hog. Makes me all misty eyed...

My favorite video is when he shot the pig right in the butthole.
Whoever is behind that gun needs to know that you are suppose to put the dot on the pig's snout when it is running, and most of the shots are too low. Either set your scope to shoot an inch or two higher at 100 yards and you will quit all of the missing. Just try this friendly advice and you will learn a little something from somebody who is a Master of Arms and have been shooting for well over 50 years.

Do wolves hunt feral hogs? Wondering if you could train a pack of large dogs to be corn hounds instead of sheep hounds?
Wouldn’t an AK47 be more efficient? I mean, they scatter so quickly! I never thought I had hunting in my blood but these videos are satisfying. Except when they escape!

Do you track down the hogs that are just crippled up by shots on the fly?
@hornswamp

Yes. They usually don’t go very far into the woods before they go down.
"How can you shoot the younger ones?" "You just lead 'em a bit more."
What is the biggest hog you dropped? It seems the big hogs drop easily, and the average hog take 2-4 shots?
@hornswamp
4 жыл бұрын
The biggest hog I’ve ever killed was about 300 lbs. My friend, who supplies a lot of the footage in our videos, has killed a 375 pound hog.
@hornswamp
4 жыл бұрын
Also, the main reason you see the larger hogs getting killed quickly, is because we target those initially while they are standing still. The smaller, lower priority, hogs are shot while on the run and these shots are naturally less accurate.
Nitrates in bacon? No night raids for BACON! Tripolar out.
Try unloading it into the group after first shot. Once they all scatter lots of missed shots trying to get one on the run good shooting!
this goes out to all the pig hunters good job these animals are a menace to crops and cattle .. they destroy the farmers feilds and can quite possibley spread sickness in cattle im from montana and this state is yet to have a hog problem but there are a lot of hunters in my area so it will be a bad thing for hogs to come around ... anyway keep up the good work saving crops and feeding the the food pantries and healthy dog food again thanks

@3:15 best moment explode little piggy 🤣
Hard to understand.... Not certain if it is an ammo issue...or a knowledge deficiency... Once you stop a hog...you MUST make a headshot...maybe two headshots....else the animal WILL/MAY rise and run away. Seems like too many hunters have a "deer shot" mentality. Believing that the quarry will bleed out. Excellent footage!!
