Yes, they were sensational together! They had a bit of a crush but she was involved with someone else. This year marks the 45th Anniversary of The Movie and 45th Version of The Song You're The One That I Want being released that went to Number One. Kenickie played Danny on Broadway and later played Vince Fontaine in a Broadway Revival. The Nurse Fanny Flagg wrote Fried Green Tomatoes which became a Movie and she dated Susan Flannery formerly of the Bold & The Beautiful. Jeff Trachta (Ex Thorne Forrester #2) did Grease. Also alot of Actors from Guiding Light, Another World, One Life To Live and All My Children also did various productions of Grease. Olivia admitted that Rydell was so surreal because she went to a School where she had to wear uniforms and the like. Her Grandfather is a Nobel Winning Physicist Max Born who was best Friends with Albert Einstein. Also Johnny Casino & the Gamblers played by Sha Na Na took the Group's Name from a Song called "Get A Job" by The Silhouettes with the Chorus "Sha Na Na!" It also inspired Smokey Robinson to write an answer Song called "Got A Job". alot of the songs the "kids" listened to were actually R & B Classics. Also The Hand Jive was inspired by Willie & the Hand Jive.

The younger crowd won't know the older stars from the past playing the adults here. They include Sid Caesar (the Coach) (TV pioneer on early 1950s TV series Your Show of Shows), Eve Arden (the Principal) (starred in the popular 1950s TV series Our Miss Brooks playing a high school teacher), Frankie Avalon (Teen Angel) (1960s hearthrob singer and star of numerous beach movies with Annette Funicello), Joan Blondell (Vi) (glamour girl from the Golden Age of Hollywood, career dating back to the 1930s) and Edd Byrnes (Vince Fontaine) (breakout star as "Kookie" on the hit late 1950s/early 60s TV detective series 77 Sunset Strip). And, let's not forget Sha Na Na (a group featured at Woodstock) that played Johnny Casino & The Gamblers.

That's a great memory of this movie. I saw it with my mom and siblings when I was 6 and although I was confused by some parts, I was totally entertained and loved it. We went straight from the theater to K-Mart so my older sister, who would have been 10, could buy the album. That piece of vinyl had some serious airtime in our house and I developed a major crush staring at Marty Maraschino wearing that green dress in the album insert pics.

The stage play was first...in fact, both John Travolta and Jeff Conaway (Kenickie) did the stage version, and Jeff played Danny during the Broadway run, while John played Doody in a touring company. Also, Jamie Donnelly reprised her Broadway role as Jan (the one who was eating all the time). None of the actors were teens...obviously. Several veterans of 50s TV and movies played roles...Sid Caesar (Coach Calhoun) was a legend of TV comedy, Edd Byrnes (Vince Fontaine) was a star of the TV series 'Route 66', among others. Frankie Avalon (Teen Angel) was a huge singer of the 50s, and the role he played was almost sent to Elvis Presley. Frankie also did a lot of teen comedies in the 60s (Beach Blanket Bingo, etc). The school nurse who is seen briefly, in the beginning, was played by Fannie Flagg, who became a best-selling author of the novel 'Fried Green Tomatoes At The Whistle Stop Cafe' which became the popular film 'Fried Green Tomatoes' (1991) that starred Jessica Tandy, Kathy Bates, Mary Louise Parker, and Mary Stuart Masterson

I was 10 when this came out, and I dragged every grownup in my life to the theater so I could see this about a dozen times. It was a stage musical in the early 70s. By the time they announced a movie version, it was HUGE news. The fact that they pulled it off at all is crazy, but the material is so solidly great. Hence the fact that probably every year, there's some school somewhere doing a production of Grease. Ever seen Bugsy Malone? An all-kid cast, very unusual. Saw that when I was 8, I think.

I was 9 years old when i saw grease when it originally came out in the movie theaters in 1978. Saw it with my then best friend, a fellow fanatic about the movies. We talked, read, ate, drank, and slept the movies. And we went to the movies together once a week for a lot of years from the 1970s-1980s. There was no particular reason we went to see Grease. We tried to see all the new movies coming out as much as we could regardless of the genre (he loved horror movies, i preferred comedies), plot, critics reviews, or who starred in it. And Grease just happened to be one of the new movies that just came out. I dont exactly recall my friends reaction (except that he was very much amused by the Greased Lightning number), but i loved it right from the very first viewing. It quickly became my number one favorite movie. The fact that actors in their 20s-30s were portraying teenaged high school seniors didnt faze me in the least. Because to my 9 year old eyes, in real life, teenaged high school seniors were grown up people. Practically adults. So, seeing adults in their 20s-30s portray teens in the movie, i really couldnt tell the difference at the time. You wouldn’t think that a movie such as Grease would appeal to a 9 year old boy, but it did. Being raised in an abusive, dysfunctional household, it managed to hit me in the very right places at the very right time. So, I say to the actors and the behind the camera crew of Grease, from the bottom of the heart of an abused boy, thank you all very, very much.

it was so moving to watch John Travolta remember his recently deceased friend, Olivia Newton-John, during this years Oscar's In Memoriam portion. They really did remain good friends since this movie. I believe Grease was a musical first before it was a movie and held a record, at the time, of the longest running play on Broadway. It was a subway closure which forced the show to stop its consecutive show streak.

This movie was so huge when it came out. Olivia Newton John was already big doing mainly country songs and did have that wholesome image and was, of course, a knockout. So, her scene in the all black outfit with none other than John Travolta was quite the sensation to say the least. People were going back to the theater to watch that movie over and over just to see that scene (no internet to view such things on back then). You're The One That I Want went right to #1 on charts around the world.

I have great memories of being seven years old and my Mom taking me with her to see this when it came out in theaters. It was the first time I had seen or even heard of Olivia Newton-John and I thought she was amazing and so beautiful. As for John Travolta, I was already familiar with him in his role of Vinnie Barberino on the comedy television series Welcome Back, Kotter. This is one of my personal favorite films of all time. I love the movie, the characters, the people who brought those characters to life and the music. Seeing this during it's original release will always be one of my most cherished memories.

You know a movie is magic when it overcomes its horrible trajectory. Danny treated Sandy like trash at EVERY turn: the pep rally, the malt shop, the dance, the drive-in, then she changes her whole persona for him to win him over------however, the music is so great, and the acting is so energetic and exhilarating that it somehow works anyway.

This soundtrack got a ton of radio play. 3. This was a great movie to take your honey to. I was in High School. 4. These songs kill for karaoke (especially Summer Lovin') 5. Marty/Diana Manoff is my honey😍😋 Her character's a bimbo, but I don't care. 6. If you don't dig the all star cast it's on you🙄 7. "I'll give you 75c for the whole car, including your chick."🤣 8. Grease the stage musical came first. The stage musical was a little raunchier and had a few differences. They also added a couple songs written by the Bee Gees (including the title song). When they revived the stage musical, they added the new movie songs in, but kept the stage musical songs that were cut from the movie (several of the songs that were cut can be heard in the background in some movie scenes and they are included in the soundtrack album). In the stage musical, it's Kenickey who sings Greased Lightning because it's his car, but the movie director thought audiences would want to see more of John Travolta since he was so popular in the TV series, Welcome Back Kotter. The animated opening was partly a spoof of Disney movies (particularly Sandy's part of it, where woodland animals help her get ready for school much like Snow White) and it was also partly a salute to Mad Magazine, which took off in the fifties and featured comic book satires of movies and TV shows with caricatures of the stars in them, much like how the actors in the movie are caricatured in the credits.

Not so fun fact........ the leader of the Scorpions, Dennis Cleveland Stewart, was an openly gay dancer whose career was just getting started around this time. Unfortunately he passed away in 1994.

I love your movie reacts. Could you please react to 'A League Of Their Own', which is about this women`s baseball team, coached by Tom Hanks. Rosie O'Donnel, Madonna, Geena davis, etc, are in this as well. Really great movie, though even i teared up at times during this one.

SAD TRIVIA: On the Day the Girls sang "I'm Sandra Dee", The Lyrics were Changed.. Instead of a Verse about Sal Mineo (RIP), They changed the Lyrics to Elvis... He had Died the Day Before IRL. Jeff Conaway was Supposed to sing the Lead in "Greased Lightning" (as HE owned the Car), but John Travolta DEMANDED HE get to Sing it instead. THERE WERE some Morbid Theorists that say that the Lyric " Saved her Life, she nearly Drowned", meant that she actually DID die... This whole movie was the vision she had before she passed...

what do they win if they win? they said it twice. They are racing for pinks. Pink piece of paper that showed ownership of the other one's car. Whoever loses, loses their car to the other.

Someone named Heather Sinclair (at least her YT channel name) is stealing & reuploading your content. Not sure if they're trying to pretend to be you or not but it's really strange

*Hi, I have suggestion for you, If you start Reacting Continuesly Indian content Like KZread vines, songs, movies scenes etc. I'm 100% sure your subscribers will be in millions because India's population is 1.4 billion and 75% people are movies lovers, I have observed this for the last 5 years., Many of the big KZreadrs in India have an audience of not less than 20-25 million, if you start reacting to their videos, their audience will start watching your videos, which will increase your subscribers very quickly.** *Many youtubers started Reacting indian content now they have millions of subscribers, for example two of them "cinedesi" & "Our stupid reactions" American channels.*
