Gravitas Plus: How inflation can change our world
Inflation is more than a change in your purchasing power. Inflation can give rise to dictators like Hitler. It can also force a country into irrelevance, like Venezuela. As our world battles record inflation, Palki Sharma brings you the 4 'P's you need to watch out for.

The first one was a test on us and to instill constant fear in us. The people caused it to be a real one. The people as a whole, will create these things. It was a flu but they wouldn’t treat it remember? They told people to go home and come back when they couldn’t breath. They took the med off the market that if used the first few days it saved everyone but people didn’t stand up to their government, they gave in. People believed the lie about everything. The medicine worked but was taken off the market. The media made it worse. God be with all of you. Get prepared with food and water! Pray with all your heart to God. ✝️✝️✝️

The best explanation of interrelationship between inflation and economy and pollution! Makes me wonder if inflation is triggered as a political move by the opposition? Palliative, love your analysis and due diligence!
I thought Venezuela inflection was due to sanctions and an attempt to toppled the president of that country by outside interference. The same can be said of the sanctions imposed on Russia. Except that the sanctions on Russia created a boomerang effect because it was done in an ill rational way. Also, the coronavirus lockdown played a contributory factor. Therefore, sanctions are weapons against the poor and not against the one percent of the privilege few.

Sanctions are the best way to avoid a war without been called a chicken in the international community. The majority of the times don't work but a least you put some pressure. Of course they are some gov that don't care at all and can have sanctions forever. By the way, Venezuela's inflation is not fault of the US, that is a myth, that Socialist spread, Venezuela was doomed before sanctions, that happened when you f***ing nationalized every industry that's productive in your country and with awful management you bring to the ground, and when you finf out instead of changing course, yoh nationalized more and start to printing alot of money, then your currency values become less than a toilet paper.

Excellent analysis and presentation. I had pictured inflation as: The rich get richer, the poor get poorer, and the middle class takes a beating. Which is pretty much what you just said.
Palki, your sense of history is absolutely fantastic. Your ability to see the bigger picture is phenomenal
No doubt it's the best news source and she nailed it again with this story. So in short - if Russia and Ukraine war comes to an end, things can become better again but it will take time. And with this War the gains are less and the loss is more. And both the country's President's should think of their people because that's more important. I don't know when will they understand- War is not a solution to anything. I pray for those families who are getting affected from this War (both the counties).
Smart articulate presenter married to a clear headed channel without leftist leanings and one gets a clean smart result. Well Done Ms Sharma and WION !!!
I learn more about the world from you than any channel news out there. Excellent explanation about the world.
Thank you for the "Inflation 101" summary. We are witnessing "Supply Destruction" with sanctions on oil, gas, etc. One right-sizing option is "Demand Destruction". That would not be pretty. Ending sanctions and increasing supply is one option. Excessive liquidity and debt are other problems to address.
Stage 1: Hoopla Stage 2: Inflation Stage 3: Crash Stage 4: When the rest of the world is screaming for change they will get it. But not in the way they wanted or needed. Stage 5: "You will own nothing and be happy"

Inflation is directly correlated to USD, because all major commodities are priced in USD (Oil, gas, iron ore..etc) If you factor out the USD (reserve currency). It would bring all prices down but US would collapse overnight.

Recession and inflation are around the corner with a very high odd. So I will say If you're holding cash, you have 100% chance of losing money yearly due to inflation. If you're holding stocks for 2.5+ years, there is a 100% chance you won't lose money. So where is the real risk?

Excellent again. I was rather irritated when EU heads of state proclaimed to support Ukraine at ANY costs. The inflation analysis is absolutely correct and to the point. Unfortunately exactly the instabilities and systemic ripple effects caused by the current inflation are the reason why EU Governments felt forced to return to coal power. It is an act of sheer helplessness. In any case I like they way the broader picture is shown almost as a systems analysis and yet very comprehensively.

@Elizabeth Mcclain The current system is completely unsustainable. The only reason it continues 'as if' is lending and debt. Lending for healthcare, for homes, for education, and plain old credit cards. trouble is, when the bottom falls out, the lenders get bailed out and consolidated, and everyone else loses their shirt.

@Elizabeth Mcclain Working with a pundit to develop a well-structured investing portfolio is a wonderful approach to get started. That's why I've been working on my dealings because most investors enter equities and exit with a rapid 10% to 20% profit, I've learnt to be patient with stocks. They miss out on the massive gains since it trades at a P/E ratio of 40-50. Crazy part is that advisors are probably outperforming the market and raising good returns. I will give this a look, thanks a bunch for sharing this Bonnie.

History shows us very clearly that human governments of every kind are totally incapable of ruling the world for the benefit of all their subjects. Every day the news gets worse and more innocent people are suffering. In fact, the Bible foretold many of the things we see happening on the earth today, including inflation. The Bible calls the time we are living in “the last days”. (2 Tim 3:1) Jesus said that “fearful sights”, or frightening events, would mark this time period. (Luke 21:11) Soaring inflation is just one of the many things that cause fear. The book of Revelation foretold rising food prices during this period of time. “I heard something that sounded like a voice. . . . It said, ‘A quart of wheat or three quarts of barley will cost a full day’s pay.’ (Revelation 6:6) God will soon bring an end to unfair economic conditions, not just in one country but around the world. He is going to “bring to ruin those ruining the earth”. (Revelation 11:18) His government is going to take over the rule of the earth by removing all the governments on earth today along with the people who are causing the problems. God’s government will rule with love and justice. The Bible says at Isaiah 65:21, 22 “They will build houses and live in them, and they will plant vineyards and eat their fruitage. They will not build for someone else to inhabit, nor will they plant for others to eat”, so everyone will have their own home. At Psalm 72:16 the Bible says: “There will be an abundance of grain on the earth; on the top of the mountains it will overflow”, so there will be plenty of food for everyone. This time is coming very soon. The whole earth will soon be filled with peace, joy, and love.

Naw, I just changed where I shop. The food budget I set for myself is $10 to $15/day. When the bill started hitting $13 to $15 rather than $7 to $100I changed my shopping behavior. I believe I eat about half as much as I did 6 months ago, and Greek yogurt, a big salad, a serving of fish, hummus, and tea are the most frequent items. Heck, $2.45 package if hummus is 700 calories. I don't need much in addition to that to reach 1200 calories for the day. Every other category is trimmer down, too.
Brilliant. The more I watch you young lady, the more I like what I see, hear. Thank you 🙏🏻.
Lesson learnt from this report: even after the official end of the Cold War, the main global actors remain America and Russia, with Europe remaining quite an insignificant pawn in a high stakes Chess game of global economics which now has China as one of the contenders.

That is what Russia wants, because their influence was slipping away, the only thing that it has been saving them from vanished is their natural resources and their nuclear warheads, now China is a different story, but there are others players emerging as it is India in the future.
