Yes, a lightfastness test would be much appreciated! These too, as another person commented, remind me of the Super Visions set. Most tubes of which performed terribly in lightfastness and some of which were suspect to using inks and dyes. Their "Magic Wizard" color has a pigment they call "Plant Color" (?!) which is similar to how Super Vision labels some of their pigments. I AM CONVINCED these are a Chinese white label product. I even reached out to them about their "IMPROVED" tubes and they responded with a fluffed up, long running answer that didn't even make sense let alone addressed the question. I hope their pricing can validate the quality of these paints as they are beautiful to look at.

Very interesting, I just saw another review of these paints and tried Googling them. I saw that they came up for sale on AliExpress, and it made me wonder.

Beautiful granulating colors ! I enjoyed watching you swatch them and seeing them "explode" with color.....

These look amazing and a great competing range against other high end granulating watercolors. These are huge tubes! I wish they were available in US.

*i'm assembling a palette of watercolors that suit my style and color/shade preferences and want to focus on the paints with high granulating qualities given the abstract nature of my experimental paintings...these look promising...just wish they were more light fast and archival(ish)...still might have to add a few of these to my collection just to have the variety of options to create specialized limited color palettes for the diminutive paintings that i mess about with*

Hi Liz, I'm glad you found the video :) I haven't yet tried their newly released Charm Collectio yet but it appears that the only difference between the 2 collections are the colours. I did notice that the Charm collection comes in smaller 8ml size tubes which I wish was available for the Magic collection too (only 15ml tubes). Given both collections are available as individual tubes, I would suggest picking up the colours that interest you individually to try out first :)

Love your little review Wendy! Now, something I found interesting: I bought from AliExpress some paints from the chinese brand called SuperVision. They have a super granulating line and they're eerily similar to those Rockwell paints. It's not like Daniel Smith, with one color being similar, ALL of these colors are similar to the supervision line. If you check the KZread reviews about them you'll see. (Theres a Korean ytber who made swatches of them, Becca Hillburn also made a video about them and more recently Alice Lim. If you're curious, check their reviews about the paint!)

@@WendyPaints Check out Kimberly Crick on the Super Vision.She said the paints changed color in the tubes they are not light fast. There is another KZreadr I forgot his name that had the same problem with color change. I hope these aren't the same they do look pretty.

I bought them of the Rockwell website. It’s out of Canada. Shipping of course adds to the cost. They had a pigment in blue that is hard to find. They sent it and the sent Morai Witch instead of Prussian Blue that I also ordered. I’ve called and emailed twice. No resolution to the wrong paint being sent. Poor customer service.

Beautiful colors. Never heard of this brand.

@@WendyPaints I got Limugreen Brown, Obsidian Brown, Opal Yellow, and Onat Diamond Yellow. I haven't had a chance to play around with them much to see the self-evolving effect much myself, but I love the way their granulation looks.

I’ve looked for sources of Rockwell paints in the Pacific Northwest and cannot find them. Does anyone have a stateside source where I could purchase them?

I’m trying to find a store that sells Rockwell watercolors here in the USA. Anyone able to purchase it anywhere other than the website?

They are super Lightfoot except on e which is more than medium . Great paints.

I've used them in a few simple paintings which I've posted on my Instagram 😊 They are very vibrant and pretty, great for sketchbook practises, though I wouldn't use them for commissions until I do a lightfastness test on them first. Is there anything else in particular that you would like to know more about these paints? 😊

Thank you for the review, but these paints actually has nothing to do with Canada. Their company is just a pigments supplier based in Canada. This brand looks like a private label company to me. They even got exposed in China few years back that they are actually the same company as Super Vision. The packaging, the size, the pigments number, the color swatches all matched. They even run out of their stock at the same time as Super Vision. The company was not so happy about it and denied such accusation. Frankly flashing Canadian flag all over their packaging smells fishy enough to me.

The use of PB17 is usually indicative of a Chinese white label product. None of these mixes are new and can all be done on the fly with a decent mixing palette. I don't think anyone would use separating and heavily granulating mixes often enough to justify 15ml tubes of most of these, but to each their own.
