Oh, the tables have turned. (Also, I played this boss fight 20 years ago. It was no fun at all.)

"Dance with me... Brother" FUCK

This is always the one battle I prepare far before heading in. Even then, there are times it can just go wrong. I can see why Millenia is not allowed for this battle. Mainly because, at this point. You’ll have the Eye of Valmar, which would trivialize it. As you can use it to win the first battle with Melfice. Needless to say, I feel they should have prevented usage of it on certain boss fights. Still, Melfice was definitely the hardest boss fight in the game. Given that he is unpredictable, it is better to play safe than to get wrecked.

This was a battle that took a bit of strategy. I lost the first time then realized which part to focus on fighting and not letting get a turn and won the second time. Definitely not a boss to underestimate

Elena was my strongest char after cyrum kingdom. She got 3 good staffs which had abilities. I used the books that decreases ip time and spammed tremor from her earth staff.

The eye is straight up broken. Many of the bosses that have several attacking parts, can all be rendered useless by immobilizing the main body wit the eye. The limbs are stuck as well and thus the boss becomes useless.

The Laugh from Melfice is one of the greatest boss fight laughs of not just game but all video game or movie or tv series or any cinematic thing possible. He has the best yet most annoying as hell laugh. He's like the Lu Bu of JRPG video games. Just a legit fucking badass and yes he knows it and laughs at your pitiful attempts to defeat your big brother xD

Imagine playing a game about gods and atheism and human faith in 2000, kids today would never have that experience. What a masterpiece

the true final boss in this game. you get past melfice and its pretty much impossible to lose any other fight past this. every next boss in this game becomes a complete joke, especially the final boss, just some floating head that's got like 2 attacks that barely do all that much damage.

I don't remember a single tough boss fight in this game from when I was a kid... Playing this game on hard now and Jesus Christ he ain't no push over

Valmar's Eye and Valmar's Core were the only ones that posed some challenge... But even they can be easy if you know what to do. (Heck for the Core you can just spam Alhealer and there's nothing it can do about it)

Hardest enemy for me was the regular demon enemies that use Ba-boom because they used it with regular frequency and uses spawned in mobs. I forget the area I think it was the road to the Cyrum Kingdom after the Moon visit.

I remember playing this game on my dreamcast. Flying tenseiken was my favorite attack!!

I always prefer to use Elena for the boss fight bc of her apocalypse move and all healing move🤣

If you destroyed his sword he gained Horn of Valmar as a attack and if you destroyed his regenerator I forget just I think he stopped being able to cast spells or it just slowed his ability to.

He probably farmed exp and coins my characters are in their low 40s by the time I fight melfice

I focused my extra seeds and points all on Ruydo by this point and farmed a lot of seeds on the switch version i had his power way high i was determined to do better than when i played as a kid on DC i op him with tenseiken slash every time he would attack it was epic lol

You could make Ryuudo into a pseudo Melfice, he ran just as fast and tenseiken slash came out instantly man was that fun.

Melfice and the core of valmar were the only 2 bosses that wiped my party in this game all the other 1s were pussies essentially

Hai allungato troppo il brodo, per distruggere la spada bastano le mosse ghiaccio, per il rigeneratore ci vogliono gli esplosivi tipo boom o ba boom e in fine per Melfice combo e critici e ogni tanto qualche attacco speciale.. Comunque apparte questo lo scontro contro Melfice è uno dei migliori ❤️

Overall this is a great game but too easy. This is the first battle this is legitimately hard. I played the first game and figured out the power up system quickly. This is the first battle that legitimately had me in trouble albeit briefly.

I played this game many times and bored it.
