Grace holds the stage throughout. Simon Cowell - don't you dare make her into another plastic Taylor Swift. An even better Grace VanderWaal - yes.

I think if this band di this song like this in the final she has it. She is Amazing I like the way the bass and drumms change at the right time making timing for grace to sing and play with her Guitarist huge wow.

+Sam Borgman Notice how relaxed she is. She has real stage presence here. She will eventually get used to bigger venues and lose the jitters. Also, her voice isn't cracking so much here. Nerves and fatigue must be a factor. I miss the competition and don't listen as often but I keep coming back to this one. Something in the timber and tone of her voice sets off the happy alarm in my brain.

Bob 1 I saw posts like that too, one by someone suicidal who found strength in Clay. Her songs are already very encouraging for people going through bad times. For me personally, I've never been so inspired to write and make music as I am now, ever since I saw her audition. She also reminds us how free and open our minds should be. The freedom of expression she exhibits is incredibly inspiring for anyone who developed a fear of criticism or rejection. We shouldn't really ask her to write something specific. That creates the bad kind of pressure that stifles creativity. And in the case of the vet, the life-saving aspect is particularly stressful to deal with.

I thought the same thing- her voice during this concert is much stronger than it was during her recent Vegas AGT shows, from what I listened to. I think she needs to loose the voice coach AGT assigned her to and get a better one. Whoever is working with her is hurting her more than helping her.

Cuivre Not really true. The issue is much bigger here. Her voice was almost gone during Fallon show. If Autumn the coach wasn't helping her she probably would have lost her voice completely after that. Because she seems to sing using her throat, applying too much stress on her vocal system. Vegas performance showed she is singing using her diaphragm more, exactly the trick a vocal coach teaches you. Her voice is stronger now than ever.

I remember watching this the day after she performed it. It's still as powerful today as it was when she was 12yo! It's obvious she was born to perform and it's her passion.

This is the band Grace needs to tour with as all fun with her talent the best thing.

THis is what she needs, her own band. Making fun on stage with her bandmembers and audience.

I only just noticed this - right at the end Grace extemporizes singing the last notes longer than they practiced - see how the drummer was ready to hit that next-to-last beat and she sort of left him hanging there? I mean he and the band fielded it just fine. It looks like she apologizes to him afterwards and he's having too much fun to worry about it a bit.

Turns out she is a little song writing machine...prodigy! I hope it doesn't turn out that she has a song ghost writer. I remember when Jackie Evancho was on AGT and people accused her of lip-synching to anther singer. Grace has a great sense of getting a song to have a great hook.

I disagree- she will have to be versatile and work the audience with the help of a band. She must do both well and I like each for its own performance aspects. There is an undeniable excitement with these types of performances to get all types of fans.

Cuivre I whole heartedly agree. She rocked this at the same time I love when she’s acoustic. Hopefully she’ll continue to do both.

It ex's and oh's not exs and ohs

Famous russian author Victor Pelevin write about her youtube video, where she is singing this song on the stairs with green ukukele, in his book Iphuck 10. He mentions mismatch of her age and the theme of the song and makes referenses to Nabokov's Lolita. And also admires her vocal performance.

Love Grace Vanderwaal, but there's something about this version I find a little disturbing...I don't know...It feels something like "age inappropriate for her...The other version where she's sitting sweetly on her back porch looking like a tiny, beautiful and innocent little nymph...but then playing/singing this song...It's like the perfect balance of innocence and power....
